Enjoy your stay in this first-floor condo, situated by the beach, with a coastal theme throughout. The entrance to the property is by the kitchen. This modern area features spacious granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and coffee pot. The kitchen is also fully equipped with any necessary cookware for your culinary needs. There are 3 barstools to sit and taste while the cook is prepping the day's meal. The adjacent dining table has seating for 6. The open living area features a couch, a loveseat, and a wall-mounted TV with cable and Wi-Fi. Sip your morning coffee on the private patio, in the ocean breeze, facing the dunes. The first bedroom (BR1) has 2 Full beds, a TV, a nightstand, and an ensuite bathroom which has a tub/shower. It is separated from the vanity area. The second bedroom (BR2) has 2 Full beds. The third bedroom has 2 Twin beds. These two bedrooms share a full bath located in the hall with a tub/shower. This condo is near downtown Port Aransas, the golf course, shopping, beach access, and restaurants. Amenities include: TV, Wireless internet, access to Charcoal BBQ pits and picnic areas, laundry facilities, 2 Boardwalks to the Beach, and 2 Shared Community Pools.

We loved our condo. The location near the beach was perfect and being able to rent a golf cart was so fun. The check out instructions super easy. All we had to do was throw out the trash. This company and multiple properties and my son stayed at a much larger condo with a pool and yard so you can bring the whole family. Will stay again the next time we are down.

It was perfect, the only unit that had 2 beds per room, perfect for our group of 6. Close to the beach and a very nice pool. Everyone was friendly and we hated to leave, we will be back next year.

Great space for our party of 9. Access the beach from the boardwalk was a plus but getting our beach wagon through the loose sand at the end of the boardwalk was problematic. Could have used more toilet paper for 9 people—left us only two rolls. A mop would have been helpful when water was tracked in. No pantry to store items we brought with us…had to keep them on the counter but at least it was spacious. Great pool and areas to bbq and a small kids play area. Great location.

We really enjoyed the condominium/townhouse. Place was clean and close to to the beach. We didn't have an issue with the disposal, which backed up our kitchen sink the final day. We did not call maintenance because we were leaving in the morning. Overall, great stay, nice accommodations.

Great Thanksgiving weekend

We loved being by the water and the nice, long walks on the beach. Beds were comfy, kitchen, well appointed, but the carpeting is tremendously old and needs a major facelift. It’s quite dated overall.

The walkway to the beach made it very convenient for family members to come and go whenever they wanted to! I would highly recommend this condo and we will certainly book it again!!

This condo is a great location and layout for a family group wanting to stay within walking distance of the beach. I stayed her with my 70s-ish parents and my two kids, ages 14 and 11. I've stayed in this condo complex twice before at two different units, so I knew a bit about it coming to this unit. The unit is very spacious and has everything we needed. Also, the management company is very responsive. We had an issue with AC where the main area (kitchen, dining, and living room) was cooling very well and the bedrooms were not. The management company was there within an hour to troubleshoot. The only thing that was bothersome is there was a group staying above us who were up much later than we were. They weren't doing anything out of the ordinary, I'm sure, but just walking and moving around the unit above us was loud. They checked out about halfway through our stay so that definitely helped with sleep.

Fun long weekend that ended too soon

Pros: Property clean and inviting with plenty of l seating for a large group Plenty of pots/pans for cooking Lots of beds so everyone could spread out Outdoor amenities had been updated since we last stayed at IR and the nearest boardwalk was redone A/C was cold and worked great! Cons: The kitchen/dining area is super dark making it hard to see to cook. Silverware was sparse - only a few forks/small spoons so we had to wash constantly. IR is the only place we've stayed in PortA over the past 15 years that has a huge mosquito problem. They are everywhere around the building and outdoor areas.

Great location, great unit!

This was our 2nd time to stay at Island Retreat. Location is great, whether you want to walk the boardwalk to the beach or drive your beach cart to a beach entrance. This 3/2 unit was nice & clean. Plenty of room for the 3 of us ladies in our 60's. We were comfortable & had everything we needed. This was our 4th trip to Port A & we experienced 3 firsts on this trip...sand fleas on the beach, mosquitoes, & coyotes! Never seen a coyote in Port A before, but saw 12 in one day! And they do walk thru the grassy area on the beach side of the building, as well as near & on the boardwalk, so be careful at night. I even saw one of the larger wolf/coyote hybrids, walking about 15 ft from me as I stood at our patio railing. Also saw a pair of coyotes in the street/parking area as we backed out one evening. But overall I recommend this unit & we would stay again!

Girls trip 2023

There’s more pots, pans, bakeware, utensils, and small appliances than my house !! Plenty of nice big towels and soaps etc. TV in every room ! Lots of pillows. Didn’t take forever to get hot water in the shower/kitchen like some places we’ve been to. Near the boardwalk to the beach. Literally across from the pool which was very nice. While you can’t see the water from the back porch patio, there’s a nice green area between the patio fence and the dunes so is very relaxing to sit outside, listen to the water and still feel “beachy.” Beach gear delivered in condo. Chairs and umbrellas sturdy and not flimsy for being “free” with our beach gear credit. Definitely will come back next year with my daughter and her four kids. Will have plenty of room for all. 😎🏖️

Good location but not well kept.

Short walk to the beach and easy to get to. While we did have good communication with the property manager, the place it self was not clean. The tubs looked like they were just simply sprayed down and not actually cleaned. The toilet seat had dried pee on it and my BIL said he woke up with a roach crawling on his head. I emailed them to let them know the door knob was very loose in one of the bathrooms b/c I didn’t want them to think we broke it. They responded very quickly and said someone would come out to fix it but no one ever came. We’ve stayed in another unit at this same place that was much better kept and cleaned!

Great weekend place!

This was a great condo for our family's weekend trip to the coast! The condo was neat and definitely smelled clean! Plenty of towels and pillows! Only concern was that the fridge was full of the previous guest's left over groceries so we did have to empty it and dump garbage our 1st night there. The beach was a 2 minute walk over a private boardwalk (closer than i expected! ) and the beach was not too crowded. There was no coffee maker but thankfully housekeeping responded with a greatly appreciated pot for us for us for the next day! We would definitely stay again!
