From the start, Olivia was very helpful with all the questions we had in advance of the stay. She provided immediate and through responses.
The cabin was as described., one of the nicest we've stayed in - very comfortable beds, pillows, plenty of blankets. The bath products were a plus; we appreciated the dispensers to reduce plastic usage. Best-equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental. All the normal things you’d expect were provided, but what was extraordinary included a coffee grinder, a really good set of sharp knives, plenty of dishware, glassware, and silverware, and baking supplies, including a stand mixer!!! (I don’t know who likes to bake on vacation, but I imagine someone would find that exciting!)
The back porch overlooks the Blackfoot River, with very easy access for fishing. If the weather had cooperated and been more seasonable, it probably would have been fabulous. As it turns out, we visited during an extended heatwave, with day temperatures in the 90s, so the trout were a bit hard to entice. We did have some success but imagine it could be so much better in cooler weather.
There was a very meticulously prepared reference binder available (with tabbed sections!) to explain the history of the property, quite a bit about the access to the river, and how to use various appliances including the television and extensive movie selection. They have thought of every detail to make the stay pleasant and easy for guests.
The location is very convenient, about one hour from Missoula, and around 30 minutes to Seeley Lake. One of the downsides to the convenience of the property, however, was that the highway runs parallel to the driveway and there are many tractor trailers driving by. As a result, it was noisier at the cabin than at our home in the Philadelphia suburbs, which I was not expecting.
While there were some restaurant suggestions, we only ate out one unremarkable evening, and chose to cook at home all the other times. It was easy to get to the two waterfall hikes that were suggested, and we tried both. We preferred Holland Lake Waterfall, which was a bit further drive, but a shorter and much more picturesque hike. We would We would recommend the huckleberry smoothie at the Grizzly Claw Trading Company in Seeley Lake: it was a nice treat after the short hikes.
In all, the cabin was very nice, well equipped, and we would highly recommend this rental.
