Woodland Dunes on Lake Michigan

Nestled between the eastern shore of Lake Michigan and the majesty of the Huron-Manistee National Forests, this vacation rental offers something for everyone. The house has five bedrooms and 3.5 baths, including a main level master suite. Two bedrooms and a full bath on both the second floor and the walk-out lower level make ample space for extended families, allowing for quiet times and fellowship.
Summer days can be spent at the community beach on Lake Michigan, or poolside at the community clubhouse, which also has tennis and basketball courts available. The larger Pentwater area presents opportunities for biking, hiking, sailing, kayaking, and all the activities enjoyed by many.

Local attractions include many fresh fruit and produce farm markets, craft breweries and locally-owned restaurants, gift shops and boutiques, and historical sites. Access to dune riding facilities are close at hand, as are many smaller lakes offering fishing and recreation activities.

Bookings for full weeks only between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday. Long weekends available in the spring and fall.

Yearly family vacation

We had a fun family time at Woodland Dunes.The grandkids enjoyed the pool, the lake was beautiful but too cold to swim. The house has everything you need. The town has lots to do and the nearby dunes are definitely a great time. The only thing that could have been better is the weather.

Family Vacation

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed everything about the house especially the beach and the pool for the kids. And the use of the golf cart made getting around SO easy. We made great memories and hopefully can return in years to come!

Great cottage at Duna Vista Resort

This is a great house! We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and all the convenience the house offer. We had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. Jann was also a pleasure to work with very attentive throughout the process

Beach wedding vacation rental

We rented the house as part of a beach wedding destination with family. Absolutely perfect! We enjoyed having a big house to celebrate with friends and family. The kids enjoyed the private beach and warm pool.

Great vacation!

This house was super clean and had a lot of room for the 12 of us to spread and out and not feel crowded at all. Comfortable beds, games, sand toys, beach floats, pickle ball rackets... activities for all ages. Plus the use of the golf cart made it so easy to get around! We had an awesome time!

The house was magnificent. Perfect location, smartly decorated, comfortable beds. The home was spacious with three levels. The place exceeded our expectations. The use of the golf cart was a bonus. We used the heated community pool and pickleball court. Had a bonfire on the beach and had a fun time at the putt putt/go carts nearby. Ludington is close by for provisions and nice restaurants. There was a small incident beyond the control of the host or tenant. The owner resolved the issue in a timely manner. The host was responsive.

Pentwater

The home was very clean and well-equipped and perfect for our three generational family. It had many more items for cooking and bedding than we expected.The only disappointing aspect was the distance from the beach and the pool. There was a golf cart that helped us to access them but they were too far for a short walk.Overall, we would highly recommend it.

The home was large enough for all of us to spread out and each have our own space. It was nice to have the extra fridge in the garage for beverages. Lots of toys in the garage for the beach. Beach was further away than expected and definitely needed the golf cart. This piece needs to be in the description more clearly. The house is in a wooded community with lots of nature and we spotted many deer. All in all we had nice time and homeowner was available when needed

Woodland Dunes Pentwater

This was a super clean property with tons of amenities. It was super close to a gorgeous beach and a heated pool. The kids loved having a golf cart so we could explore the neighborhood. We made friends with deer, raccoons, squirrels, bunnies and birds. And we spent our nights relaxing and grilling on the giant back porch. We came with a group of 10 people and there was room for everybody to stretch out and find their own space. The owners checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this property to others!

Perfect in Penwater

This was our first trip to Penwater. We were equally impressed by the town and this house. The house was clean, well equipped, with lots of space and common areas. We were there after Labor Day so the beach and town were quiet, just to our liking. We had a very minor issue on the first morning. I called the host, who answered immediately and sent someone over to fix it within an hour. This is the 4th house I’ve rented on VRBO and by far my favorite.

A comfortable and relaxing get away location

We spent a week at Woodland Dunes with our 4 adult children and one guest. The house was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space for sitting, eating, sleeping, bathing and relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked with all the amenities needed for daily food preparation/consumption, and the large laundry room was an added bonus. The back deck, with the flattop grill was a favorite hangout spot. We appreciated the fact that the house was a short golf-cart ride to the private beach. Driving through the wooded neighborhood and coming into the beach area was an experience that never got old. The sand was soft and fine and made a great location to read books, enjoy a beverage, catch a catnap and most importantly, watch beautiful sunsets. We also appreciated the variety of beach items available for use including beach chairs, kayaks, floats and much more. On the one rainy day we had, we made use of the games that were available in the house. It was very easy to communicate with the owners and they were quick to respond to questions. This is definitely a property we would book again.

A beach paradise

We had a wonderful week at Duna Vista Resort in June 2022. The house was perfect for our multigenerational group of 10: 6 adults and 4 kids. The house is huge and beautiful. It comes with a golf cart that my kids loved. We have been renting houses at VRBO for 10+ years, and this one is the nicest. It's obvious that the owners love and take care of it. The kitchen was well equipped, all bedrooms had the softest linens. Thank you Jann and Bruce

Fabulous house, fabulous week

The house was spacious and very-well equipped, with comfortable furniture, plenty of space to spread out, and some wonderful added perks, such as the golf cart, beach toys, and incredibly-detailed and helpful household instructions. The owners were very responsive to questions, and checked in with us on the day of arrival to make sure all was well. Couldn't have asked for a better property or better weather (beach day every day!!!) We would recommend this home to any and all, and hope to rent again for a future visit.

Perfect getaway

Nice, clean rental with plenty of space for relaxing. We rented during the winter so didn’t utilize all the amenities that would be available in the summer, but the property has great beach access. Will be back to enjoy it in the warmer months.

Beautiful Home!

The house had plenty of room for our group, ages 16-81! It was very clean and well supplied. The owner provides a well detailed information binder and labels on light switches and cabinets - love the organized but comfortable feel of the house. Beds were comfy with plenty of space in each bedroom. The ping pong set was a big hit - along with the golf cart. The area is beautiful - Pentwater is a great town. The homeowners were very responsive and professional. Quiet neighborhood amongst trees but so close to Lake Michigan and a multitude of activities. We took a sunset cruise out of Pentwater, rented a pontoon boat on Hamlin Lake, visited and climbed Big Sable Lighthouse, shopped, swam in the pool and enjoyed the beach. We visited Up North Market and their farm animals - a neat place that even our teenagers enjoyed. Another favorite was the produce and handmade soaps at the farmers market in downtown Pentwater. Our trip was great fun - other than car issues and scheduling a tow truck and taxi ride the day of our checkout!

Good fit for our fsmily

The property and location were a good fit for our week long family trip in Pentwater. The house had a great layout for both together and separate time, it was fully equipped and up to date and the owner was easy to work with and very responsive! We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
