Paradise Retreat is your own private resort on Hawai'iā€™s Big Island. Relax and enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub in our private, fully enclosed back yard. Lounge poolside in the sun-soaked chaise chairs or stay cool on the covered lanai. In the evenings, enjoy starry nights and listen for the waves crashing just a few blocks away.

The home is designed to collect the island trade-winds and naturally cool the interior, especially during the evening hours with the A/C off and the windows open. Our A/C systems efficiently cools the home during warm days, if necessary, using only solar during the day-light hours.

Our home has been recently updated, is fully furnished and stocked with linens, pool towels and all the kitchen items you'll need for cooking your favorite meals. Water from our well is filtered and UV-treated before entering the home.

Paradise Retreat has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main bedroom suite has a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with slate tiled shower AND jetted bathtub. The two additional bedrooms share a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. One of these bedrooms has a queen size bed and the other has a king size bed. The fourth bedroom has a twin bed with an AC unit. The third bathroom is in the large laundry room near bedroom four. We provide a washer and dryer for laundry and a starter supply of laundry strips to avoid large plastic detergent jugs.

Located in Keaau just south of Hilo, Paradise Retreat is in a great place for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, Hilo, Pahoa and the heritage Hamakua Coast. Let us point you in the right direction for adventures, cultural sites and ocean activities. Our neighborhood is quiet at night except for the mesmerizing Coqui frogs. Please respect quiet hours 9pm to 8am by keeping noise levels low. If you canā€™t hear the Coquis, itā€™s too loud. Mahalo nui loa for your green choices, respecting our home, our neighbors and our Island. E Komo Mai!

Peaceful stay

We really enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to have the pool and hot tub and the house had everything we needed for cooking. Itā€™s also quite roomy. Itā€™s about 25 minutes from downtown Hilo, but close to other sites and beaches.

The underwater pool light wasnā€™t working, I reported it and the handyman came the next day. But the replacement bulb had to be ordered and we went home before it was installed - what a shame - nighttime dip wouldā€™ve been wonderful. The hot tub was too hot šŸ„µ we needed an instruction sheet on how to work it!!

We had a great time staying here. The accommodations were exactly as described. We really enjoyed having the pool and the hot tub. It would be more convenient if there was an outdoor shower to rinse off before pool or hot tub. Loved this house. We will be back again.

This is a fantastic home. Very comfortable. The outside pool area is really relaxing. Kitchen is well stocked, beds and sofas are comfortable. Private setting with beautiful landscaping. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely perfect. We all 5 adults loved our stay. Home is well maintained and clean. Kitchen fully stocked with everything to cook and grill. Spa was so nice to relax in and spend time on Lanai. Highly recommend.

Absolute Paradise

I can't recommend this property enough! If you're looking to do some touristy activities but also be away from the hustle and bustle of the normal resorts, this is the place for you! We had a fantastic time learning about the culture, exploring farmers markets, and seeing all the wildlife. The rental was spotless, the location allowed us to get to the more touristy side of the island, and the views are breathtaking!
