Lowcountry Paradise, private gated island, 2.5 miles of beach, family friendly


Saltmarsh Serenity is located on Harbor Island, a gated community just outside of Beaufort, SC that features 2.5 miles of private beach.

The home backs up to the coastal marsh in a quiet and secluded part of the island, but is only minutes to the beach access points by golf cart.

There are 4 bedrooms, each with spacious closets. Three of the bedrooms feature king-sized beds with memory foam mattresses and pillows. The fourth bedroom is designed with kids in mind and features 2, twin-over-twin bunk beds.

The bathrooms both have shower-tub combos and a linen closet stocked with luxury bath towels and bath sheets. In each bathroom you will find a hairdryer so you don't have to take up valuable suitcase space.

The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare your favorite meals, which can be enjoyed at the kitchen table or on the screened-in porch, overlooking the marsh.

Enjoy all of the amenities the island has to offer using the included golf carts.

Rental also includes a pass to enjoy local favorite, Hunting Island State Park.

Harbor Island is close enough the enjoy visiting Historic Downtown Beaufort, nearby Port Royal and Paris Island Marine Corps Base. It also allows for day trips to both Savannah and Charleston.

Rates include parking fee for one vehicle. Renter is responsible for 11% SC Vacation and Lodging Tax

This beautiful house was way bigger than the photos showed! Pleasantly surprised with size of bedrooms and loved the king size beds! Set in a beautiful place on the marsh with great back porch views. Having 2 golf carts was great for all of us to go to beach with all of our gear! Our 2 small dogs loved the views as well and it was so peaceful and quiet!

Great location, good layout, fully stocked kitchen, nicely decorated, golf carts availability was well appreciated (needs windshield on one for rainy rains & working lights for evening rides for safety purposes. Cleaning service could use some improvements (sandy floors upon check-in, underneath couches were nasty when kiddos lost some toys). Use it beach towels, crab trap, beach gear (need some replacements) was lovely. It is low country so do expect large water bugs & tons of mosquitoes (not hosts’ responsibility. Kitchen floors really needs to be replaced, kept running into uneven pieces & edges that were tripping hazard & unsafe for barefoot.Secluded island with tons of beach access, pool, playground, tennis courts were nice perks.

The property is in a great location with a short drive on the golf cart to the beach, pool house, gym, etc. The home itself was set up very efficiently. The kitchen light didn’t work which made cooking not great, but it worked out. Floors throughout the house on pretty rough shape. I did have to ask for check in instructions the day before arrival as I had not received anything yet, luckily was sent right over. The one thing I wish we were told before arrival was to be prepared for mosquitoes .. we tried to buy some repellent on the island but it didn’t work and ended up getting some more powerful spray, which made our stay much more enjoyable. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the beauty of the island.

Private Family Retreat

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The check-in process was very easy and had very easy communication with the host. The setup of this home makes it very easy to travel with larger families or multi-families..We really enjoyed the two golf carts. We used them to cruise over to the pool several days as well as to the beach but also just enjoyed cruising around the island in the evenings after dinner.. The location of this home on the island was what we loved the most. It is in a more wooded and secluded area of the island. We were able to sit on the back porch in the evenings playing cards and not worry about disturbing any of the neighbors as there weren't any homes directly on either side of us. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Hunting Island and downtown Beaufort. We will definitely stay in the home again.

Great post high school graduation get away

Loved then overall vibe of this place. Layout for sleeping and bathrooms worked for six people ranging from 15 to 79. We went to Hunting Beach every morning - thank you for the two season passes! Pool every afternoon, and caught awesome sunsets each dusk.Great food close (Shrimp Shack, Another Slice and Seaside) literally 5 minutes from the house. Beaufort is 25 minutes away with great views and everyone's favorite, Parris Island is within striking distance. If you haven't spent time at either place, you are definitely missing out!! Semper FiA few minor events typical of a rental came up, but Jayd communicated often and did the best he could with the resources he had to remedy the situation. Kudos to your cleaning lady turned handyman. She couldn't have been more accommodating and pleasant.I would 100% stay here again. Thank you.

Lowcountry vacay

Overall our trip was great. We had a few snags while there but the host was very responsive and helpful. The neighborhood and location is fantastic! It is a gated community and felt very safe. Close to private beach areas and just a short ride in to Beaufort. Having the golf cart to get around in was also a lot of fun! The house itself could use some updating and probably a deep clean but overall it was a great stay for our family trip!

Perfect for your family trip!

We had a great stay with two families. The house was very clean inside and we loved the layout as one family had two bedrooms on one side of the house with a bathroom in-between and visa versa on the other side. The king beds were true king beds and really big and spacious! The quad bunk beds were solid and perfect for all the little ones. We appreciated some of the high quality touches like the beds,linens, and bath towels! The living room tv was HIGE and new so it had all the apps and technology. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ever need and had quality dishes!The golf carts were a little disappointing as they were very dirty and one quit on us twice and we had to get rides home both times. The owner quickly got us a rental/replacement cart and communication was good. The exterior really needs some TLC though. As well as a good power washing. I thought we’d wish we weee closer to the pool/beach, but actually preferred this part of the island with all the beautiful trees,shade, and privacy! We had a great stay overall! We can’t wait to come back to Harbor Island!

Easter weekend getaway

The location is amazing: in a bird preserve, surrounded by woods, very relaxing. The drive to the beach is short, and fun if you use the golf carts. The house is very practical divided in two sleeping areas with bathrooms and the living room and kitchen in the middle. Lots of beach gear, and kids games. We had a very enjoyable stay and also checked out a close by seafood restaurant.

St. HELENA RETREAT

I really loved the layput and bedding arrangments. There was plenty of kitchen items and beach gear! Major plus. Only complaint i have is the parking is very tight and there is no yard for kids to play. I will definetly be back and recommemd this vacation home.

Christmas at the beach

Lowcountry Paradise was a right-sized stay for our small family get together for the holidays. Three couples and a couple kids fit well. The amenities were nice and access to nearby sites was easy. It was chilly being December but we found plenty to do and we ate well. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed and the grill was a nice touch. Hunting Island passes were a treat.

Wonderful vacation house

My family really enjoyed the fact that house was in a gated community with amenities that you could get to using the golf carts. Everything was supplied for us we only had to buy food. Restaurants and stores were easy to get to.

Love this place!

We have stayed there two times so far planning on a third next year. It just has all you need having two golf carts with a big family. Makes it easy for people to go where they need to go without waiting or taking a vehicle. Nobody has to fight over king size beds because three out of four rooms have them. Really enjoy the screened in porch away from all the mosquitoes at night. Overall, a great place.

Family Getaway

Two families with lots of little kids really enjoyed our stay. The two golf carts made getting around the island a breeze. The beach, the pool, and the wildlife were thoroughly enjoyed. The house had everything we needed and laid out well. Would recommend to others looking for a relaxing stay.

Amazing Family Vacation

Ocean Marsh

Harbor Point is a beautiful area and nice neighborhood. Saw a terrapin turtle and lots of horseshoe crabs on the point at access 1. Golf carts are a great addition and owner was responsive to replacing one that wasn’t working. Highlights in the area included Cypress Wetlands in Port Royal and Hunting State Park.

Family time with our Marine

We had a lovely stay here with our son who is stationed at MCAS Beaufort. The house has everything needed for a family stay and I was able to make a few home cooked meals for him. The golf carts made a fun addition to get to the beach.

Clean, well-equipped, and very serene

We enjoyed our brief stay here. Lovely home that the owners obviously care for. Nice little touches like cloths in a bin to wipe off sandy dog feet. The back screened porch is a perfect place for morning coffee and evening drinks. Kitchen is fully equipped and there's plenty of room to stretch out. One suggestion: table lamps in the livingroom would be nice.
