Come enjoy this beautiful, spacious, and cozy - 2 bedroom cottage that sleeps 8 guests max. The cottage overlooks the beautiful Ellijay River, which is perfect for wading in the shallow water or laying out during the warmer months. In the winter, you will love listening to the peaceful river, while enjoying a beverage and staying warm around the outdoor firepit and soaking in your private hot tub. The hot tub is located inside your screened in porch, which also features a propane grill, and a picnic bench to enjoy your meals overlooking the river. The cottage is situated on 7 acres that is shared with our home, which is located next door. It is less that 2 miles to downtown Ellijay, 10-13 miles to downtown Blue Ridge, multiple apple orchards within a few mile radius, many winery & vineyards, as well as many hiking trails / waterfalls that are within a 30 minute drive. Your kids will love the Noah's ark playground & swings that we built which will be sure to keep them busy! Loungers are located on property for you to lay out. Tubing and kayaking are nearby at the Ellijay River Outfitters or the Cartecay River Experience. Inside "The Cottage", you have 2 bedrooms (both upstairs) which sleeps 6 comfortably. One bedroom features a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds- 4 beds in total. There is a half bathroom upstairs for both bedrooms to use. Downstairs, you enter the front door into the open kitchen, dining room, and living room. Imagine cozying up on the couch in front of the beautiful gas fireplace, with a glass of wine. The dining room has seating for 6 and there is also a full bathroom (with stand up shower) behind the kitchen. Weather you're looking for a romantic getaway, a girls weekend, quality family time, or just pure relaxation - this river front cottage is perfect for you!IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ !This home is what we call ā€œthe river cottageā€ on this property. ā€œThe river retreatā€ - please see listing link below - is located a few hundred feet away from the house. This is a rental as well, so understand you may have guests there, so if you want to be secluded, this is not the property for you. We planted fern trees to separate the yards, but until they grow larger, there will not be complete privacy. They have their own yard/hot tub/and firepit, so those will not be shared.Other things to note:LATE CHECK-OUTS & EARLY CHECK-INS: Check-in time is 4PM and checkout time is 11AM. Door codes do not activate until set check-in time. Early access will not be provided without prior approval. Guests who check-in early or checkout past checkout time will charged the additional fee of $50/hr.There is a security camera facing the driveway that will be on during your stay. Any pets or extra guest seen on property is subject to a charge.

Loved this place! Especially the location! The little playground was perfect and the fire pit was delightful. Bring your own wood for the fire pit. Loved the hot tub, too!

Arrived late Friday, cottage clean and welcoming. Kids loved zip line and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Beds were super comfy. Would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful place to stay to get away, close to everything you need. Clean cabin with extremely friendly hosts. Kids enjoyed the zip line, creek, and finding arrow heads/making a necklace with Mrs. Mary Jo. Couldnā€™t have asked for a better family vacation.

Family vacation

We absolutely love staying in this little cottage. It was beautiful and my children and a blast of the zip line and play area along with playing in the river. Itā€™s a great get away from the day to day. We would definitely come back again.

Very Relaxing

We had a great time at the cabin, itā€™s very relaxing peaceful and quiet just what we were looking for during this week of vacation. The property owner Jim was very nice checked on us a couple times to make sure everything was good. If youā€™re looking for a quiet relaxing this is the place to stay.

Cozy Cabin

This property is exactly as described. Everything was fantastic! The weather wasnā€™t very cooperative during our stay, so fishing and fires were a bit tough, but we still had a great relaxing trip. This cottage is close to many things, but is still quiet and secluded.

AMAZING STAY!

We had an amazing time at this secluded home! So cozy and beautiful. We loved exploring the yard and river. Our daughters absolutely loved the playground. The fireplace and hot tub were so nice to have after a day outside. **only thing we needed- an hdmi cable for the upstairs bedroom!

Fall Get Away

We came from FL to enjoy the fall colors here in northern GA. We wanted a cabin that was surrounded by nature but also close to a cute downtown. This little cabin has everything you need for a cozy get away ranging from board games to kitchen supplies. We used the hot tub and fire pit every night! We were not disappointed in our choice and would definitely come back!

Nice Cabin

The cabin in very nice. Kitchen works but needs light under microwave over stove fixed. Hard to see to cook. The yard is great for kids, lots of room to play and nice equipment for them to play on. River is an added extra, you hear the current from the back porch. Very enjoyable stay.

Plenty of space, very well appointed. Comfortable and relaxing. Our host Jim let us in toured us around the property, very informative and available. Relaxing Stay

The house was just as pictured, very clean and spacious. The area has a historic town just minutes away where you can walk to the shops and dine. We had trouble finding easily accessable fishing sites but after talking with locals found a couple. We used the grill, fire pit and the hit tub (every night.) The property manager was very quick to respong to my messages duing our stay. Our stay was very relaxing and a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would book agian.

Very Nice. Big open yard

A few notes: take water shoes. :) Limited kitchen items. Some days the flies and smell from the chicken farm across the river was bad. But not everyday. Our grandchildren loved the zip line! The river was amazing! Close to Ellijay stores.... grocery, Walmart, gas stations and restaurants. Overall a very nice vacation.

Fun time with the grandkids!

So much to do at this property! It was a great place to be for a few days. Jim and MaryJo were absolutely wonderful property owners! Being on the river was so nice. Zip line was a big hit. The cottage was comfortable and had everything you could need. We tubed on the Cartecay River, that was an experience! It was exciting for 4 1/2 hours. Maryjo helped our 6 year old granddaughter make an arrowhead necklace. Just the best! You can't go wrong staying at this fun place!

Great Memories!!!

My husband and two kids(5&7) enjoyed this cottage so much!! Clean, close to town, and kids had so much fun zip-lining everyday, and exploring the property. The bunk beds and jacuzzi were a big hit. Kayaking was wonderful! Not many places you get a personal drop off and have the river all to your self! My kids LOVED Blue- sweet, easy going dog. Thanks Jim and Mary Jo for making arrowhead necklaces with our kiddos, building us a fire while we were on our way back from dinner, making us feel at home and being wonderful hosts. The kids are still talking about our trip!

VERY PEACFUL AND RELAXING

My wife and 2 boys stayed here for a few days, and really relaxed. The property is very private ( unless the house next door is rented) which was not. The creek is wonderful, my 2 boys splashed and played in the creek for hours. The house was very clean, a little pollen dust outside on all the porches, but thats to be expected this time of year, we have the same where we are in Florida. The cabin has everything you need, fully stocked kitchen, bed linens, comfortable furniture, Wifi, hot tub, HUGE yard for kids to play. The host was very quick to respond after a few quick questions. We would definitely stay here again. Elijay was 2 minutes away with everything you could need.

Was nice , didnā€™t spend too much time here during our stay , but beds were comfy , nice area , neighbor super close though and thereā€™s a chicken farm behind the property that smells pretty strongly . Home wasnā€™t cleaned very well and every door in the home is not straight , drags and has to slam to shut , very noisy . But beds are comfy .! House is beautiful . Pictures on listing should be updated though

The perfect week away for our family!

Our family spent 5 fun days in Jim and Mary Jo's cabin in the woods. The property was beyond anything we could have asked for. We have stayed in many VRBO/ AIR BnB homes and this one has to be our favorite! From the fully stocked cabin with comfy beds, to all the fun amenities for us to enjoy we barely left the property all week long! My kids loved the zip line (so did I lol) and club house. We spent most of our days outside enjoying the river, which was the perfect depth for small ones to play in! We even found arrowheads while playing! Jim and Mary Jo were so accommodating and helpful. Their home sits one the same property so if you need anything they are just seconds away! Thank you Jim and Mary Jo for creating such a relaxing retreat! We are leaving feeling refreshed and full of wonderful memories we made! We will be back!

Not for us

After seeing all the wonderful reviews, I was really looking forward to this trip with my family. Unfortunately, the house was very dirty, filled with spiders and cobwebs throughout the house. In the shower, there was still hair shavings on the shelf from previous renters. There were also ants on the countertops and in the cabinets. The location of the cottage was nice, located right by the river with a big open backyard. However, if you are looking for privacy, this is not the place as the main house is about 50ish yards away, sharing the backyard and river access. We had a great time outside but the house was just extremely filthy.
