Come enjoy this beautiful, spacious, and cozy - 2 bedroom cottage that sleeps 8 guests max. The cottage overlooks the beautiful Ellijay River, which is perfect for wading in the shallow water or laying out during the warmer months. In the winter, you will love listening to the peaceful river, while enjoying a beverage and staying warm around the outdoor firepit and soaking in your private hot tub. The hot tub is located inside your screened in porch, which also features a propane grill, and a picnic bench to enjoy your meals overlooking the river. The cottage is situated on 7 acres that is shared with our home, which is located next door. It is less that 2 miles to downtown Ellijay, 10-13 miles to downtown Blue Ridge, multiple apple orchards within a few mile radius, many winery & vineyards, as well as many hiking trails / waterfalls that are within a 30 minute drive. Your kids will love the Noah's ark playground & swings that we built which will be sure to keep them busy! Loungers are located on property for you to lay out. Tubing and kayaking are nearby at the Ellijay River Outfitters or the Cartecay River Experience. Inside "The Cottage", you have 2 bedrooms (both upstairs) which sleeps 6 comfortably. One bedroom features a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds- 4 beds in total. There is a half bathroom upstairs for both bedrooms to use. Downstairs, you enter the front door into the open kitchen, dining room, and living room. Imagine cozying up on the couch in front of the beautiful gas fireplace, with a glass of wine. The dining room has seating for 6 and there is also a full bathroom (with stand up shower) behind the kitchen. Weather you're looking for a romantic getaway, a girls weekend, quality family time, or just pure relaxation - this river front cottage is perfect for you!IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ !This home is what we call ā€œthe river cottageā€ on this property. ā€œThe river retreatā€ - please see listing link below - is located a few hundred feet away from the house. This is a rental as well, so understand you may have guests there, so if you want to be secluded, this is not the property for you. We planted fern trees to separate the yards, but until they grow larger, there will not be complete privacy. They have their own yard/hot tub/and firepit, so those will not be shared.Other things to note:LATE CHECK-OUTS & EARLY CHECK-INS: Check-in time is 4PM and checkout time is 11AM. Door codes do not activate until set check-in time. Early access will not be provided without prior approval. Guests who check-in early or checkout past checkout time will charged the additional fee of $50/hr.There is a security camera facing the driveway that will be on during your stay. Any pets or extra guest seen on property is subject to a charge.

Cozy Cabin

This property is exactly as described. Everything was fantastic! The weather wasnā€™t very cooperative during our stay, so fishing and fires were a bit tough, but we still had a great relaxing trip. This cottage is close to many things, but is still quiet and secluded.

VERY PEACFUL AND RELAXING

My wife and 2 boys stayed here for a few days, and really relaxed. The property is very private ( unless the house next door is rented) which was not. The creek is wonderful, my 2 boys splashed and played in the creek for hours. The house was very clean, a little pollen dust outside on all the porches, but thats to be expected this time of year, we have the same where we are in Florida. The cabin has everything you need, fully stocked kitchen, bed linens, comfortable furniture, Wifi, hot tub, HUGE yard for kids to play. The host was very quick to respond after a few quick questions. We would definitely stay here again. Elijay was 2 minutes away with everything you could need.

Was nice , didnā€™t spend too much time here during our stay , but beds were comfy , nice area , neighbor super close though and thereā€™s a chicken farm behind the property that smells pretty strongly . Home wasnā€™t cleaned very well and every door in the home is not straight , drags and has to slam to shut , very noisy . But beds are comfy .! House is beautiful . Pictures on listing should be updated though

Perfect with our Grandkids!

Loved this place! Especially the location! The little playground was perfect and the fire pit was delightful. Bring your own wood for the fire pit. Loved the hot tub, too!

Fall Get Away

We came from FL to enjoy the fall colors here in northern GA. We wanted a cabin that was surrounded by nature but also close to a cute downtown. This little cabin has everything you need for a cozy get away ranging from board games to kitchen supplies. We used the hot tub and fire pit every night! We were not disappointed in our choice and would definitely come back!

After seeing all the wonderful reviews, I was really looking forward to this trip with my family. Unfortunately, the house was very dirty, filled with spiders and cobwebs throughout the house. In the shower, there was still hair shavings on the shelf from previous renters. There were also ants on the countertops and in the cabinets. The location of the cottage was nice, located right by the river with a big open backyard. However, if you are looking for privacy, this is not the place as the main house is about 50ish yards away, sharing the backyard and river access. We had a great time outside but the house was just extremely filthy.

Relaxing Stay

The house was just as pictured, very clean and spacious. The area has a historic town just minutes away where you can walk to the shops and dine. We had trouble finding easily accessable fishing sites but after talking with locals found a couple. We used the grill, fire pit and the hit tub (every night.) The property manager was very quick to respong to my messages duing our stay. Our stay was very relaxing and a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would book agian.

AMAZING STAY!

We had an amazing time at this secluded home! So cozy and beautiful. We loved exploring the yard and river. Our daughters absolutely loved the playground. The fireplace and hot tub were so nice to have after a day outside. **only thing we needed- an hdmi cable for the upstairs bedroom!

Honeymoon Retreat

We rented this cottage for our honeymoon! The cottage was absolutely lovely on the inside. It's warm and inviting and the fireplace stayed lit for most evenings. It was very spacious with the two of us and we had everything that we needed for our week-long stay. The property itself is beautiful, with a small river/stream cutting through the back. While it was too cold to enjoy the outside sections too much, there is a firepit and a hot tub that we were really able to enjoy. The cottage is also super close to downtown Ellijay, which is amazing itself. We had such a great time there and we hope to be back again next year so we can visit is see the full scope of the orchard next year. We both highly recommend this property and stop by The Roof for a beautiful view of the mountains with dinner and the coffeehouse and candy shoppe next to each other at the roundabout. Also, the Back Porch Bistro has amazing apple cake if you can make it there while it's open. We both love the area and cannot wait to go back.

Peaceful Getaway!

We really enjoyed our time listening to the river flowing while laying on the hammock in the backyard. Our toddler very much enjoyed playing on the play set in the backyard! We had a great time with friends and will definitely be back!

Perfect nature escape!

My husband and I brought our 4 kids here for a weekend getaway! We love being in nature and the river cottage was perfect for us. The listing is as described and all was as expected! Miss Mary Jo was fantastic to communicate with. My children made lifelong lasting memories here. The ability to walk into the water (literal stairs into water!) was a game changer for my kids and us. We had an absolute blast. The fire pit, playground, walk in river, smart tv accessibilities, and closeness to nature make the river cottage a perfect family spot for a weekend away! The main house (about 200ft away) rents out also so just know there may be other tenants sharing the river spot with you. It was not an issue for us, the tenants of the main house rental were very nice! All in all, it was a phenomenal weekend for us!

Very Nice. Big open yard

A few notes: take water shoes. :) Limited kitchen items. Some days the flies and smell from the chicken farm across the river was bad. But not everyday. Our grandchildren loved the zip line! The river was amazing! Close to Ellijay stores.... grocery, Walmart, gas stations and restaurants. Overall a very nice vacation.

Loved It!!!!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated my Husband's birthday this past weekend. We fell in love with this adorable cozy cabin by the river. We absolutely enjoyed the remote location and the amenities were outstanding! The location was perfectly located near wineries, shopping and dining. We will definitely return to this cabin.

Christmas Getaway

We enjoyed our little Christmas Getaway in the Mountains. Great location close to everything and the cabin had everything we needed complete with playground and a zip line for my grandson to play on. No issues and cabin was exactly as advertised.

Nice Cabin

The cabin in very nice. Kitchen works but needs light under microwave over stove fixed. Hard to see to cook. The yard is great for kids, lots of room to play and nice equipment for them to play on. River is an added extra, you hear the current from the back porch. Very enjoyable stay.

We LOVED our stay here. The cabin was clean & layed out well. The property had everything we needed.
