Whether it is roasting marshmallows, soaking and relaxing in the hot tub or eating on the deck overlooking the river, the calming sounds of the rapids transports you to a world of peace and relaxation. Minutes away, you can also enjoy the local town square of Ellijay and it’s unique shops and restaurants. or take a short drive to Blue Ridge and enjoy its local charm and culinary delights. In between, stop and visit the many vineyards and wineries and make sure you bring back a bottle to enjoy the beautiful sunset while sitting by the fire or relaxing in the water.  But don’t worry, if the weather isn’t perfect, Rapid-Retreat has a game room that features a pool table!  All in All, Rapid-Retreat offers a variety for a relaxing stay. This cabin has everything you need for a great river side vacation. There were bowls for our puppy, tools in the kitchen, and wood for the fireplace. The beds were comfortable and there was zero wait for the hot water in the shower. The wrap around porch on the main floor was amazing.

This is our second time staying in this cabin, and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful time we had. First of all, the host is amazing! Second, the cabin is in perfect condition to enjoy some needed time off with family or friends. My family and I spent Christmas over at the cabin, and had such a good time, that we are planning to come back again. There were lots of deer this time around!

Great time at this cabin the access to the river is great. We saw several deer and geese. The deer were right at the back door and the geese came right up to my daughter. I would recommend this cabin.

Our stay at Rapid Retreat was great! We enjoyed being right on the river – the sound of the rapids was very soothing. The hot tub was awesome and there was plenty of porch space for us to relax together. The instructions provided by the owners were very precise and helpful. We had a great time!

The property was amazing. The river was the best for relaxing, floating, and unwinding! The beds were comfortable and the living room couch was amazing to wind down on at night. This cabin had everything we needed and we enjoyed our week stay! Communication with the owner was quick and the location cannot be beat.

A second stay

We first stayed here in 2024 and when we planned a return to ellijay/blue ridge we were happy to find the cabin was available again! It's spacious, well equipped, prime riverfront location and easy drive inside coosawattee and to the surrounding cities. We will definitely stay again if we make another trip to the area.

Nice access to River. A bit daunting to get into the River and the owners advise caution. Nice view of the river. Bedrooms and bathrooms just fine. The lower level would be great for kids. Hot tube nice and clean. We didn't use as it was still pretty warm outside

River Retreat

Nice property. Love to hear the river running. We saw Deer, geese, squirrels, some fish were caught. Overall we had a nice and relaxing time.

Beautiful property

Cabin was just as described. The view and outdoor spaces were great. We enjoyed seeing deer every morning and evening.

Restorative place

Brought the family here for the week. Being from Florida it was a great place to get away from the heat. Warm enough to get in the water and play in the river. It was great to enjoy nature without mosquitoes. The lightening bugs put on quite a show every night. I saw more deer in one week than I have seen in my entire life. This is truly a special place. Hope to get back soon!

Enjoying the River

we have rented cabins in several different states and this one is one of if not the best one we have rented. It is convenient to the town and shopping. We totally enjoyed our stay and are talking about renting it again
