Picture yourself on the beach spending the winter in sunny Sanibel. The deeded beach entry is less than a quarter-mile from my house. It’s hard to find a long term rental in Sanibel because everything rents so fast. This new listing may be just what you’re looking for to enjoy the lovely warm weather of Sanibel.

My home has a bright, open floor plan with upscale furnishings and two screened porches. The master bedroom has a king bed, a full bathroom with double sinks plus a private balcony. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen bed, one with twin beds. A full bath separates the bedrooms. This happy beach home is elevated with a carport, storage room, screen porch, and a large Weber Grill underneath. We have all the beach equipment you will need. This beautiful house is perfect for you to spend the holidays here.

The community heated pool is a very short walk. The tennis court is next door to the pool. There is also a deeded beach entry for the community and guests. You can also walk to Gramma Dot's Cafe and the Sanibel Marina. You are steps from San Carlos Bay and the public fishing pier plus you are about half a mile from the Lighthouse and beach on the gulf side. Sanibel boasts some of the world's best shelling. Come here and sit back, relax, and enjoy the Sanibel Sun.

Great place to stay

This is a very cosy house, well equipped, and very handily placed for the beach and the causeway - and certainly at this time, while the island is still recovering from all the hurricane damage, in one of the quieter parts of the island.

The host was very helpful in suggesting places to go to dinner and about local activities available on Sanibel Island. We were disappointed that the heated pool and pickle ball court were not available for use for our entire stay, since we had our son's family vacationing with us. We ended up purchasing Daycation passes at Sundial Resort in order to use the heated pool and play pickle ball for two days. Again our host was very helpful and I realize that this was out of her control.

Home away from home

Mermaid's landing was a beautifully furnished and well stocked home with a location very close to the beach. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommended this vacation home to anyone looking to enjoy Sanibel!

Mermaid Landing was a great place to stay. Close to the causeway for easy on and off the island. It was just a short walk to Gramma Dot's restaurant and a short bike ride to the Lighthouse Beach.The kitchen was fully equipped, I was able to make a batch (or two) of Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookies.The smart TV had a cable connection and also allowed me to connect to Amazon and check out some new movies.Debbie was great at communication before and during our stay.The island is still recovering from Hurricane Ian, but there are enough shops, restaurants and "to do" places open to make the trip worth while.We found the farmers market on Sunday, did a tram tour through Ding Darling, Visited the Bailey Matthews Shell Museum and rode bikes around the island.We would gladly stay here again!

2024 Sanibel

Overall, everything was good. We enjoyed our visit very much. Beds were confortable, kitchen worked well, community swimming and pickle ball court were appreciated. A few things needed to be repaired but we got around the problems. Overall our stay was an A.

Wonderful house

We had a fabulous stay at the Mermaid house. It was lovely decorated with everything which we needed from beach chairs to toys and local recommendations. When we will travel again to Sanibel, we will be happy to stay here again. Communication was very easy and we received quick responses. Check in process was well described. Beach access is a 10 minute walk with kids.

Beautiful spacious home near Sanibel Lighthouse

This is a beautiful, spacious home on a lovely property near the Sanibel lighthouse and marina on the east end of the island, making for easy access on and off of the island. Inside, the home is clean, nicely decorated and well equipped with everything that you will need to enjoy comfortable sleeps as well as meals inside or outdoors on a screened-in porch. Communication with the owner was pleasant and always timely. Check-in was easy and seamless. We brought our own bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas and enjoyed daily trips to the beach (just a 3 minute bike ride away!) as well as making good use of the community pool (also a short walk or bike ride). We would most definitely stay again!

Sehr gemütlich und heimelig

Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Sehr schönes Haus, GemeindschaftsPool und Tennisplatz direkt um die Ecke. Das einzige was fehlte, war ein Staubsauger, mit dem man die großflächigen Zimmer mal zwischendurch durch saugen könnte. es war leider nur ein Autostaubsauger vorhanden.

Mermaid Stay

The house was extremely comfortable and roomy. The kitchen was well stocked, there were lots of towels, linens, games and the furniture and beds were extremely comfy. The screened porch was huge with vey comfortable furniture. There was also a lot of natural light in the house but shady spots outside. The tennis court and pool were handy and in very good condition. especially the tennis court. The beach was an easy 8-12 minute walk. The house is right off the fantastic Sanibel trail system, which lead to a lot of great bike rides. In our opinion the east end of the Island where the Mermaid is located is the best. It was easy to get on and off the island and we were close to a huge selection of great restaurants which were an easy drive or bike ride.

Great spot to relax - well placed for local beaches

Spent most of the time walking/cycling to the beach (There's one about 5 minutes walk away - and no carpark there, so not crowded at all. The house was actually better, prettier than it looked on the site and Debbie a very attentive (though we didn't need much as all was provided).. Thanks again Debbie

Working Beach Bum

We loved the house. We lived and worked remotely here for almost 6 weeks, finishing every workday with a 7 minute bike ride to a beach. We loved the east side "beach bum" area of sanibel with less traffic and close to all the amenities on the island. Owner was very responsive, helpful and inviting. If I were picky I'd only call out the construction next door which kept me from working outside on the awesome screened in deck about half a day a week. Really wasn't too bad and they probably finished the day we left. We plan to stay here again absolutely. No need to look elsewhere.
