The room was fantastic. Having an ocean view plus a view of the pool from the side of the balcony/windows was perfect. And the location of this unit is the best location in the whole complex I believe. Amazingly easy to get to and from the beach and pool. I would definitely stay in this unit again!

Everything about our stay was great! Plenty of space inside the condo, all the fun you can have outside as well when you come off the beach. We loved having the courts, pool, and rec center with pool table and ping pong tables when we waited on bad weather to pass through. We love the location - no drive part of the beach. We look forward to coming back!

A nice week

We always love staying at the Southwind property. That said, this was probably our least favorite of the condos we have stayed at, for some minor reasons. The trundle beds are very difficult to make useful. Instead of just sliding out, the whole bed needs to be taken apart and flipped around. Under the beds wasn't clean, which was a turn off. If both trundles are needed, there is zero room left in the room to even walk. We ended up having to put a mattress in the master bedroom for a child to sleep on. Not ideal. We also were only left with two garbage bags, empty hand soap containers, one dish towel, and half rolls of toilet paper. While this is stated, every other property we have stayed at has always supplied these items. If you plan to cook in, like we did, there is zero cupboard space to store any food. Nearly all of our snacks and food had to be stored on the counter. Despite these annoyances we love the location, the property, and had a great week.

Very disappointed!

Could not check-in until 4pm because I was told that you have an inspector who reviews property before moving in. This inspector sure did not do their job! See below. MBR – • Look out on dead fronds pressing up against window. No good view of the beach. • Had to find extension cords to provide electric to west side of bed. No electric outlets there. • Had to kill two bugs on floor. • Blanket in closet smelled like throw up. We had to wash. Kitchen – • Upon moving in we noticed the kitchen faucet was broken and did not function correctly. • There was also a water leak under the kitchen sink. We had to place a towel under sink. • There was sand on the floor. • Windows, looking out onto pool, were so dirty that we could hardly see family members at the pool. • No electric can opener. Manual opener in drawer was broken. • Only one dish towel/no dish rags • Only two trash bags upon arrival. Not enough to start the day. We did purchase more. • Dishwasher says, “Add rinse aid.” Are guests required to immediately go to the store buy this before using the dishwasher? Guest bedrooms (both rooms)– • Had to sweep up sand off floor. • Had to pick up several bugs off floor. • Small toys on floor • Trundle twin beds mattresses uncomfortable and creek. Dining Area – • Dining table is too small for a three-bedroom condo. We had to set up one of our own tables and bring in patio chairs to seat six. The first two hours of our visit was nothing more than cleaning the unit. Whoever cleans the unit did not do a good. A day after arrival, we got a call warning us of not shutting the blinds at dusk. I remember closing them that night at 9pm. Appears you were more interested in turtles then customer satisfaction – this was our first night there. We stayed in this same unit in 2020. During this visit we were very pleased. It’s sad to see how this unit has gone down in cleanliness. On the positive side: • We love the location. Watching grandkids in the pool was special. • Unit has been beautifully renovated (floor, furnishings, wall art of surf boards). • Bathrooms have been attractively redone. • Window coverings were very convenient and ease in use. • Large TV in family was awesome. • Good internet speed and assortment of TV channels was a real treat. • Outdoor furniture was real nice.

Hi Rex, We sincerely apologize that your stay did not match your expectations. During your vacation, you mentioned there were some housekeeping issues; however, you stated that you did not want to be bothered on vacation, so we were not able to send a team member to resolve the below problems. If sea turtle rules are not being followed, we call the guests to protect them from receiving a hefty fine from Volusia County. Again, we apologize that your stay did not meet all of your expectations, but we're glad you loved the condo's renovations and great location. - The Great Ocean Team

Amazing view

Enjoyed a month at this lovely condo. Plenty of room for 6 people. The view of the ocean from the condo was amazing.

Great Condo Great Location

Positives The description was accurate. The location was fantastic. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. Negatives When we arrived the kitchen sink had not been cleaned and was VERY dirty. The towel allowance for laundry included in the rental was too low. We prefer to use 2 bath towels and 1hand towel. The young neighbors next door were VERY LOUD many nights. We were often woken up in the night by their inconsiderate noise in the stair well and outside their door. Thursday night they woke us up at 1:00 am, 2:30 am, and 4:30 am.
