Ski-in/out Silver Star home to Nordic trail & 100 m to Alpine Meadows chairlift!

The Gold Mountain Getaway home is conveniently located at the base of the Alpine Meadows ski area with a 180-degree view of the mountain! This premier property is within a 5-minute walk to the charming Silver Star Village and all of the resort's amenities. Step out the door, past the hot tub to the chairlift 100 meters away, providing immediate access to the resort's downhill skiing terrain. The Nordic trail system is out to the left just steps away. Tube Town, an evening bonfire and the skating pond are 5 minutes down the hill behind the house.

Gold Mountain Getaway offers gorgeous views down the valley or out to the ski trails from every window, including two-story windows on the main floor great room and kitchen. The master suite view is breathtaking and offers a large queen-sized bed, private bathroom and TV. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and is connected to a full bathroom. The third bedroom has queen-sized bed along with a set of twin bunkbeds. The loft area sleeps two in a Murphy bed. The beds are all appointed with cozy bedding to enhance your stay and the whole house has radiant floor heat.

The living room offers plenty of seating for your guests around the gorgeous stone fireplace. The long dining area table seats the full group for tasty apres-ski meals. The kitchen is quite large and offers all the amenities one might need. Kitchens are always gathering places, thus the chairs at the counter to join the activities. A half bath and full laundry are also located on this floor.

Outside the house, next to the propane barbeque, the 8-person hot tub sits on the large deck facing the mountain. Skis go in the outdoor side closet. Boots and gear can be taken off using the benches in the two large boot rooms, also set up with radiant floor heat. The house has full ventilation with outside air. Parking in 2 columns is available for up to 4 cars.

Great location

Clean and comfortable property with everything you need. We had four couples for American Thanksgiving and it was a terrific place to stay. Right on the trail and an easy walk to the village.

Amazing Week

A true ski-in ski-out property. Perfect for beginners or experienced skiers. Hot tub, BBQ, and all other amenities were fabulous. Great complimentary cupboard. Only little negative was 3 flights of stairs from parking, but great exercise. Hosted a dinner party with another family, served 12 with not an issue.

Fantastic home on the hills! We chose this place due to the large great room to keep the kids and adults together.... worked a treat! The view out the large windows was amazing... totally recommend!

Great location and spacious rooms

Everything was very good. Only issue we had was the dishwasher is extremely loud - possibly on its last legs but did work nonetheless.

Magical Family Experience

this house was amazing, the ski in / ski out was the best, the hot tub was enormous and very hot, and the house was well equipped for our family. it's the perfect base for a magical Silver Star experience. We are so greatful for all of the memories!

Excellent location/setting for both skiing and the village

Well appointed and comfortable for 7 adults (3 couples and a single). Great proximity to ski hill (ski out to chair lift - 100 yards) and 5 minute walk to the village. Basics like TP and soap, salt, pepper, shampoo, etc all there. Kitchen was very well appointed and things like dishwasher pucks and laundry detergent was supplied. Hot tub was clean and well maintained. All in all a great experience and a great space for us to enjoy.

Great Ski Vacation Spot

4 star. Lots of positives: excellent kitchen provisions including spices, roasters, crock pots, etc.,Saran wrap, aluminum foil, plastic fridge containers. Great space for families including some games. Nicely decorated for Christmas. A few negatives: master bed mattress too soft, no shovel provided to remove snow on hot tub deck, hot water tank too small…not enough hot water for 9 people dishwasher washing machine. Some of bed pillows too flat. One thing that should be identified in the VRBO description is the amount of stairs needed to climb to get to the unit. They are a challenge for seniors. We found the inside wooden stairs between the main and second floor, though lovely to look at, were worn and slippery and did result in one fall. The instructions on how to use things inside the chalet like the fireplace were very good; however…the check-in caused lots of anxiety when the entry code provided did not work. The phone number provided for property contact, Patty Renz, was inaccessible because her mailbox was full and no response to text. That should be addressed by the owners. Thankfully the written check-in information also provided the name and phone number of one of the owners who gave us his access code to get in. I raise these ‘deficiencies ‘ just so owners are aware. Overall the chalet is lovely and our family Christmas there together was memory-making. Access from chalet to and from the ski hill is EXCELLENT!!

Our Families First Christmas Getaway

Renting the property was very easy. It was a great price and that is what first drew me to it, plus the fact that is is ski in ski out and has a hot tub. We have never had a chance to do a getaway as a family for Christmas before and this didn’t disappoint. Wendy even had a little Christmas tree and some lights up to give it the Christmas feeling. I had many questions for the her as well and she was right on top of it all the time. I really appreciated that. The place was very clean. Someone came by each day to make sure the hot tub was cleared of snow and clean. We were a group of 10 people and the layout was great. Lots of room to move. Everyone had a great time. We would definitely rent this property again. Thanks so much Wendy!!

Family Spring Break Ski Trip

This property offers a stunning view of the Christmas Bowl and the Alpine Meadows Chair. Its ski in - out access made getting to our first tracks and popping back to the cabin for a group lunch easy. The property was spacious for our party of 9 and offered a comfortable space to hang-out. There were no issues with the property and communication with Wendy was superb. I would book again.

Best Ski in / Ski out

The location on the hill is excellent for ski in/out access and a easy walk to the village. The layout of the unit is great - living, dining and kitchen all open for family and friends. Silver Star never disappoints. Departure cleaning protocol is different than we are used to but able to accommodate. Overall a great unit.

Clean and well laid out- an excellent ski in/ski out getaway spot.

We are a family of 6 adults plus a toddler. We found the accommodation to be spacious, well maintained and very comfortable. The well stocked kitchen, large table and ample seating areas around the fireplace looked out through huge windows to the ski runs and the nearby chairlift. Lots of extra bedding and towels were available. Property management was professional and quick to respond. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the Silverstar experience!

Ideal location next to the lift

We really enjoyed our stay here. Ideal location right next to the lift, true ski-in/ski-out. About a 5 minute walk to the village, or you can take the lift and ski there. Plenty of room for two families with kids. Hot tub, BBQ grill, and everything else was in working order. Had one issue with hot water for showers and Wendy was immediately responsive to our problem and had it fixed within the hour.

Fantastic all around!

We had an awesome holiday. It's just what you want. Ski in, ski out. Hot tub on the hill with plenty of room. Huge boot room. Well stocked. And, we walked everywhere, especially being so close to tubing and skating. We'll be back for sure.

Awesome family holiday

It took me months to pick the perfect place to stay, and I'm so glad I throughly researched every possible place. From the moment we walked in, we were all beyond thrilled. It was better than the photos. Wendy had kindly had a christmas tree (fully decorated) set up for us, as we had arrived christmas eve. The floors are heated, the place was very cosy, but very spacious. The hot tub an absolute hit, we were in it every afternoon watching the snow fall while drinking champagne. Ski in & ski out and 10 mins to the centre of Silverstar. We will definatley be back. Everyone in our group was very happy.

great spot for kids!

This chalet is in the best location, once you park you put your keys away.We skiid both country and down hill and we walked to skating,snowshoeing and tube town. A great vacation and an unbelievable spot to build memories, we will be back!

Gold Mountain Getaway is owned by five families from Seattle. We first rented this house for ourselves in 1996, when our group had 3 one-year old girls and 4 six-month old boys. Years later and with more kids, we saw a "for sale" sign in the window. We skied in, met the owners, and signed a deal on a sheet of scratch paper. The rest is history. Our children have grown up skiing and playing here and we all love Silver Star and this home!

Location! We've rented a lot of houses, but this was the best location and such a beautiful home. It was always our favorite. When it was for sale, we knew we wanted to own it.
