This 2011 custom contemporary home was featured in the home design magazine “Houzz” for its architectural design.
Floor to ceiling windows display unobstructed expansive views of the river, natural landscape and abundant wildlife.
Open floor plan with vaulted wood ceilings provides spacious accommodations

Kitchen features stainless steel Viking appliances, drawer microwave, wine fridge, beverage fridge and stand alone ice maker
Large granite island/Snack bar with seating for 5 people

Great room has 65 inch TV, whole house audio system enables you to control where the music plays, including the outside patio.
Recently added 60 inch electric fireplace
Large ceiling fan circulates a cool “breeze”

California King Beds, 50+ in. Smart-TV (for streaming shows) and ceiling fans in each of the three bedrooms.
Master bedroom en-suite contains California King Bed, TV and door wall leading to outside patio. Tub bath/shower in guest bathroom. Master bathroom features double sinks, soaking tub and multi-sprayer shower.

Gorgeous stay

We absolutely loved our stay here over New Year’s Eve and would love to come back. Check in was incredibly easy, the property and view is gorgeous and we loved having the hot tub which is very clean and nice. There are also some walking trails close by which is a nice option in the winter!

Modern feel in a natural setting

We had a great stay! Everything was very clean. Master bathroom shower invokes envy. Location on the river is great, and allowed for easy access to the launch and lakes. Very quiet and plentiful wildlife and birds. View of the river was fantastic. Just lovely!

Pure Michigan!

We had such a wonderful time at Trace. The home was clean, comfy and absolutely stunning. Having a dock for our pontoon rental was so convenient. The torch lake sandbar did not disappoint and the location is perfect for heading into Traverse, up to Charlevoix or staying local at the quaint charming town of Alden.

Gorgeous modern house on Torch River

We really enjoyed our stay at the TRACE. The house is absolutely gorgeous and very clean. We loved the open layout and the high ceilings. Stunning design, high end appliances, and comfortable beds. Loved the beautiful back yard as well. Giselle was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. Had a wonderful time for our first visit to this beautiful region and hope to return soon!

One & done

The house was clean and decorated as shown in the pics. The beds…not good at all. My spouse and I are not by any means “huge” people. We are within normal limits for our weight/height. So we did not expect to “sink” in the master room bed. We turned over the foam crate cushion and we still “sank” in the bed. There was a huge hump between us. We decided to check out the other two bedrooms and those beds were just as bad. The river in front of the house is full of tree limbs making it impossible for our children to even get in the water or swim off the pier. I realize there may be DNR rules regarding removing the tree limbs but this should have been declosed in the house description and pics. My spouse found a hot tub “screen” sitting on the bottom of the hot tub. I texted the homeowner to let her know so we wouldn’t be responsible for what the may have occurred while the last renters were there. The home owner did respond quickly to my texts. The water in hot tub was not very clean even though the home owner stated in her texts the maintenance person was there the day before. Not sure how well the maintenance person cleaned or looked over the hot tub before we arrived. Our experience on the sand bar was far from exciting. It was completely ruined after a grown woman on another pontoon was vomiting in the water right next to us. For the amount of money we spent to stay at the Trace, we should not have to “start a load of laundry” before we check out.

Such a beautiful home!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Trace! So many wonderful amenities! The home had absolutely everything we could ever need. The kitchen is quite spacious and a dream to cook our meals in. The hot tub was the nicest hot tub I’ve ever been in. We enjoyed cooking s’mores by the fire outside and the view of the lake was spectacular. I cannot recommend enough! Feels secluded but yet a short, easy drive to Traverse City. You will not be disappointed with this spectacular host and wonderful home! We will be back!

Beautiful Torch Getaway

Perfect luxurious up north getaway

This is the perfect place for a luxurious up north vacation. The location is quiet and peaceful but convenient for sight seeing if that is on your agenda. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of wildlife in the yard. My son enjoyed catching fish right off the dock every night. The owner was very responsive and we will definitely stay here again.

Oct weekend

Absolutely incredible property! Beautiful water views and felt very private. Couldn’t ask for a better location for a fall color tour. Close to towns but remote enough to get that up north experience. Home had high end finishes and extras like a fire pit and hot tub. Incredible spot. We shall return!

Gorgeous home

We had a great stay on a vacation away with friends. Only downfall was that the neighbors called the property management group our very first day because we moved a floatable dock to a different anchor point. From then on we constantly felt like we were being watched. Other than that the location, house, and amenities were awesome. Not sure if we’d pick it again because of the neighbors.

Perfect for a quiet getaway!

The Torch River Contemporary Home was the perfect location for a couple's getaway in Michigan. During the day, we explored the biking and hiking trails and nearby breweries. Our evenings were spent enjoying the hot tub and the beautiful lake views before making dinner in the modern and well-equipped kitchen. Exactly what we needed!

Really Special Property

I've rented lots of properties and this is, by far, one of the best. Home is just as pictured. Hot tub was crystal clean as was the whole house. I know it's a simple thing, but it was such a delight to arrive to a cabinet with salt & pepper, some k-cups and other essentials to start your stay off on the right foot. I tried to replenish everything and leave a little extra for the next renter. It was a super easy drive up the river to the lake and I was delighted that we had rented a pontoon at Torch Lake Rentals, which was very close. This property is very close to the sand bar, which is no small attraction given how large this lake is. It could be possible to rent on the north end and have to drive a boat down 20 miles to the sand bar. We were novices at Torch Lake and our logistics were just perfect. The next door neighbor was a cool guy as well, who lives there year round (or his parents do). Everything was perfect at this rental and I cannot rave out it enough. Rent it if you can!

Great house!

For Summer it would be best to arrange to keep a boat at the house for easier access to the lake and all of the water activities. River is too busy and not conducive for swimming in my opinion. Great house that has all of today’s modern amenities. Very well done!
