Starry Nights and Comfy Beds

We loved staying here during our recent trip to the Hill Country. We had plenty of room, comfy beds and loved sitting outside and seeing the beautiful stars in the sky.

Family Reunion on Llano River

Steinhouse Ranch is the lovely old Oestreich house near Castell. It is an original settlers home built out of local rock. Perfect location for our family during an annual family reunion. Steinhouse Ranch has plenty of beds for a large group. There are cattle around the house to enjoy. True country living.

Family Get Away

Great place to get away, nice and quiet. The hoyse had anything you might need. If you like the outdoors and sit ourside and enjoy the sunrise and sunsets, this is the place. Best part is that since there isn't internet the kids had to intertain themselves and had to interact with others. We loved the history of the place and its rustic look. We will definitely come back soon.

Family Vacation

The house is very nice enjoyed the old ranch house atmosphere. The river shown in the pictures with the house were a little misleading necause that river crossing is not on the property, it was down the highway about a mile or two. The cabin that goes with it was very nice. Overall, the place was nice for a family get together, my grandchildren enjoyed the place. Although I was disapponted about the river not really being on the property, everything was good. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful and she has my 5 stars too.

Thank you for the feedback Sheri. We do not try to mislead anyone by the pictures of the river. The pictures are of the Llano River crossing 103 that is les than a mile from the home. We do show an aerial shot of the property to show the land. We are happy you were still able to enjoy your family vacation and spend time with each other.

Weekend Getaway

Overall great experience. Property was fun to explore with the kids and it’s only a short drive to the picturesque Llano river.

Great vacation home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time on our girls' weekend. I thought the home would be closer to Llano, but it's actually just outside of Castel. It was easy to find. If you're looking for a nice, quiet and out of the way vacation, this is a great place. The house was large, fairly clean and very quiet. We loved our stay and will definitely recommend it to others.The owner of the home was exceptional.

Great place

Such a nice stay for my family. Felt really good to get out of the city and enjoy the wide open skies of Texas. Our toddler loved the cows on the property and there was ample space to go out and explore. I would definitely recommend staying here. The housing itself is very old but that’s part of the charm. There are also some interesting historical facts about the original builders.
