A Lakeside Dream is nestled on the shore of one of the most popular lakes in Virginia, and near Mariner's Landing Golf Course and the beautiful Smith Mountain Lake State Park. This lovely 3 bedroom/2.5-bath cottage can be your vacation 'home away from home'. Come and enjoy relaxing on the party deck looking at the picturesque mountainside. This area is beautiful in the spring, and still lovelier in the fall. It's the perfect place for couples to get away, or to bring the kids for fun in sun at the cool sandy beach area with playground -- located right on the property. A Lakeside Dream is just minutes from the lakes summertime favorites including movies, an arcade, and miniature golf! Spend your days fishing, swimming, or skiing with your own boat in the open waters of the lake. Relax in the plush beds and whimsical decor. Guests will enjoy comfortable beds in all our rooms. Plus extra sleeping areas on the lower level.


Additional Amenities: Pick up a cue for a friendly game of pool; and enjoy drinks at the wet bar. Foosball anyone!! Two couches allow spectators to watch the game in action. Enjoy board games, stereo, DVD-VCR, and cable TV. Or, pick up a book for a quiet evening of reading. Have a feast dining at the table and enjoy all the amenities of home including a new dishwasher, microwave, and washer/dryer. At Lakeside Dream, everyone will enjoy sitting on the outside decks and watching the many waterfowl that migrate from all over. The lake is especially peaceful in the fall, winter, and spring! The party deck a great place to relax while listening to the evening sounds, feeling the gentle breezes, and gazing at the lights reflecting off the water across the lake.

Three sisters from 3 states came for a celebration and were very satisfied. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, baking sheets, skillets, spices, coffee pot and k cup coffee maker. There are many areas inside and out for relaxing and dining. We loved having our own beach and dock since the dog with us does dock diving. Food lion is close by with a good selection of fresh produce and meats. The Mexican restaurant had delicious food. This was a very relaxing, safe, quiet neighborhood.

Cute, beautiful location but could use some TLC

We enjoyed our short stay at this SML home. Loved the kayaks, paddle board, screened porch and gaming amenities. Rented a boat and effectively used the dock. The neighborhood is very nice and the driveway provided adequate parking. Only downside is the house could use some TLC. Fresh paint, deep cleaning, Things that can be overlooked, but add to the overall atmosphere. One major concern is the boat house has no cross-bracing, and shakes/sways when all of us were on it.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation at this home and will return next year. This is a great location on the lake and the sandy beach area where you can walk into the lake puts this property over the top. It’s perfect for little ones (and old ones lol) to safely play in the beautiful clear water. The house is comfortable with plenty of space and the screened in porch is fabulous. The owner is so nice and very responsive. We loved our vacation!

Place was neat and clean, once you get past all of the don’t in the messaging. Remember to bring your linens, and life jackets.

Nice Place But…

Whoever cleans/checks the house after a visit did not do a good job. The fire pit was not cleaned out as required nor was the grill. It had to be cleaned before we could use it. Also, you are required to take the trash to the dump but no outside garbage can is provided so we had to go to the dump every other day. Not really something you want to have to take time to do when you are on vacation. And the neighbor next door does not pick up after his dog so be careful when walking yours.

Perfect Family Retreat

We had a FABULOUS time at this home! It was perfect size for our family of five plus our dogs. We didn’t even really use the basement so more could have fit comfortably. The screen room was amazing to over look the water and you can’t beat the nice size yard with the privacy of the trees. Our daughters loved the beach area, and we all spent most of our time out in the water. We were sad our vacation had to end, and we hope to be able to make it back to this home again in the future. Denise, the owner was very responsive and great to work with too which is a huge plus. Thank you for opening your home to rent!

Just Okay

We've stayed at several houses in SML. We wouldn't stay in this one again. It wasn't very clean. Also, not great for swimming off the dock as it is very shallow. Because of it being shallow, it is hard to dock a boat.

Wonderful Time

Last minute plan to visit beautiful Smith Mountain Lake for Spring Break & Easter. Wonderful location, lake house and view. We look forward to returning soon and enjoying warmer weather but enjoyed every minute! Thank you!

Nice stay

Only issues were long hair (looked to be women's) stuck to the sides of the upstairs bathtub...some of the silverware was dirty and would have been nice to have the grass mowed before we came...the docks are really close together but wasn't really an issue...met our needs and we had a great time

Nice Family Spot

We typically stay near the dam and enjoy a big week with my extended family (all of us in different nearby houses). We took a break from the big reunion but still wanted some time at the lake. This house was good because we were able to rent less than a week. The house had ample beds. It was a little tight in the space and the basement is definitely worn. The pool table had several rips and the bumpers were broken. Plenty of TVs which was nice. Roku on all of them which was even nicer. The kitchen was adequate except for the lack of a garbage disposal which was bad. (That should be flagged on the listing. Its basically a modern necessity.) Working with the owner was easy. There are three bathrooms but only two showers. . The dock is tiny if you plan on renting a boat but there is an upper deck for tanning which is pretty spacious and has a nice metal bench to watch the sunset. Overall we liked it and wouldn't mind coming back next summer

Great time!

We had a great time at the house! The views from the pier (especially the upper deck). The views from the house were nice but more limited because of the trees/foliage. The screened in porch was wonderful - we had all our meals and several game/card nights out there. It makes the house!

Has everything for a great lake vacay, especially with smaller kids

Good spaces, mostly clean and well kept. Having three piers (this property and two others) within a 50 foot beach frontage was somewhat challenging

Great family cacation

Comfortable, spacious home. Not super fancy - felt like a family vacation home, as it should. Loved the sloping lawn instead of endless steps. Great location both by land and lake.

Perfect for our family of 6

This property was perfect for our family of six, with plenty of room to spare. The home is clean, tidy, and comfortable. Check in was easy, very clean, beds were comfortable and has easy lake access. The pool table was a bit worn and torn but to be expected after lots of use. The kids were still able to get enjoyment out of it! We enjoyed hours down at the lake. The older children loved jumping off the doc and the younger ones enjoyed playing on the sandy beach and shallower water. We enjoyed s’mores over the fire pit and family game/movie night in the evening. This property provided everything we could possibly need from our vacation. Next time we visit we will be staying longer!

Just the facts.

Owner was nice, communication was good but not as described online. Loaded the dishwasher and laundry. Had some towels that wouldn't fit. All trash picked up and grill cleaned. Did forget dog poop pickup outside the last 2 days. Was charged damage fee for above and a sticker my granddaughter left on the glass door and sidewalk chalk. Bedbug bites on me, my granddaughter and one of my sons. Was told they were mosquito bites but have dealt with this issue once before at a Hilton. They are multiple bites in a line places mosquito's can't get to. Pool table felt was so bad you couldn't play and cheap mattress toppers that would slide off while trying to sleep. I asked during our pre booking conversations if the cove was deep enough to jump off the dock and was told yes. The water was a little under five feet. MY granddaughter could jump but none of the adults unless you wanted to hit the muddy bottom. The location was great but the house was not as described. The extra charge I can live with for what we missed. Sidewalk chalk and a sticker was a little over the top. The charge went up after I shared with the owner of the bedbugs and condition concerns. Quote from owner "It could have been a little tidier". One more thing, there is a large man with no shirt that smokes all the time that spied on us all week. The owner makes claims of what he saw but never was in the house.
