Featuring modern updated furnishings, Central Air, and a covered back deck with a brand new patio, fire pit, and luxurious 6-person hot tub, this is the perfect vacation getaway for families, empty nesters, and friends or family reunions. Swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, and shopping all within minutes! Less than 7 miles away from best-in-state skiing at Boyne Mountain for the winter enthusiasts and family-friendly swimming at Young State Park's beach on Lake Charlevoix. NOTE: the hot tub is operational during the fall, winter, and spring (but not summer).

We totally enjoyed our stay-we were a group of my family( myself, husband 16 yr old son and 23 yr old son and gf) plus my sister, BIL and nephew (4 yrs old) The open feel of the main area was great! Our king bed in the man was soooo comfy! We did use the fire pit area once (so peaceful!) Location is great! close to Boyne for skiing and so close to the cutest downtown- we visited the Stiggs brewery and Boyne City Taproom (highly recommend this place) Totally knocked it out of the ballpark with the vinyl record player and awesome selection, sooo much fun listening to these. Would def stay again when in the area!

This was a girls getaway and the place worked perfectly for us. Very clean and cozy. We did a day trip and enjoyed the hot tub in the evening—-very clean and easy to use. The hosts provide an extensive selection of games and we enjoyed listening to the wide variety of albums on the record player. I would recommend ‘The Happy Place’ for anyone visiting the Boyne City area.

The variety of games was fantastic, The property location was stellar! The layout was perfect for our large group. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials including spices. The fire pit was a beautiful area to hangout. Thank you for helping us make great family memories!

Clean property, nicely located close to town, lots of room for activities. The fire pit set up is very pretty and the hot tub was nice and warm and clean!! We had fun and had a cozy place to stay. Room for improvements would be to maybe put a privacy fence in when funds allow. Also the silky sheets were not super cozy and too slippery for sleeping haha. Our pillows kept moving while we slept.

Great place! Everything was nice, clean, and comfy except the front step onto the porch - little jenky. Other than that we loved the place and will return on our next trip to Boyne.Looks like in the future it'll sleep even more people with beds in the basement?

Great location for family with kids

Really enjoyed our stay at the Happy Place. Great location a few blocks from downtown. A huge perk is the bikes that our available to use. Our kids loved riding the bikes and playing outside on the quiet street. There are tons of games around the house that our family enjoyed playing. Hope to visit again!

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at the “Happy Place”. Every year we find a nice, spacious and accommodating place to rent for a long weekend with my (elderly) parents and this home worked. It fit their needs and allowed for them to enjoy their time away. This place is perfectly located to do all the touristy things, which we were able to do many of them. As far as at the home, the fire pit and hot tub are an amazing plus! Personally, I enjoyed flipping through the vinyl collection and sipping a cocktail, myself. The beds are firm and the covers were comfy. The open living space was great for all of us to be together. We had dinner on the deck too which was nice. The weather was perfect all 4 days. We got lucky. The owner was very kind and responded promptly to our questions. We definitely recommend staying here.

Great area but place could use some tlc..

Not sure what the 160 cleaning fee is actually cleaning as we unfortunately found beer cans and highnoons on the lawn off the deck, stain on kitchen counter, rx pills found in two spots, the largest cobweb i have seen in a rental above kitchen cabinets and basement stairway like they have never been swept (we swept it). Location was great but this place could use some tlc and a better cleaning service... The kitchen table is particle board and about to crumble.. it almost fell apart as screws were dropping on the floor and wont screw back in.. rooms were spacious and kitchen was useful but for this price i would suggest a happier and cleaner place..

Our Happy Place - Boyne City

A very comfortable stay near Lake Charlevoix and surrounding sites! We really appreciated the location, the deck and hot tub and the cozy couch and were amazed at all the little touches, like all the spices available, the treats you provided, and the kitchen equipment. We really wished we could have had a fire in the beautiful firepit area - it is so cozy - but there was too much wind for as dry as it has been for the past several weeks. Thank you for the great communication and comfortable stay.

Perfect location, felt like home

It is hard to *not* feel right at home at the Happy Place! It had everything we needed and was very comfortable and one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. Perfect size for our family of five. Of note that we especially appreciated was the large kitchen garbage bin (most places we stay in are on the small side), tons of hooks in bedrooms/bathrooms to hang coats towels etc, comfortable beds, water bottles in the kitchen (came in handy when one of our kids realized she forgot hers at home), air purifiers in every bedroom (something we are used to at home and made for great white noise), plenty of plates/bowls/silverware, and all of the games. There is also ping pong, ladder ball, and a basketball game in the basement that was a nice surprise. The Happy Place felt private yet was a short drive to town/Boyne Mtn. We enjoyed snow tubing, cross country skiing, the Sky Bridge, Avalanche Bay, wine & cider tasting, and shopping in downtown Petoskey. This would be an awesome area to visit in the summer too. The only thing I might add to improve on the place would be blinds in the master bathroom. We would 100% return again!

Great location and space

Stayed for a week with my husband and teenage son, and the house was a perfect fit for the 3 of us. The couch and beds were comfy; the kitchen was a great size for cooking for the week. Appreciated the grill, games and back patio. Wonderful location - quick drives into the city or Young State Park. Chris was a responsive host.

Lake Charlevoix in Boyne City has been our happy place forever. Since 2009 we've been visiting every summer, first camping, then via travel trailer, then renting a cottage. We finally decided to make our dreams a reality and buy our own home in Northern Michigan so that we can share our Happy Place with others.

The ranch-style floor plan makes this home accessible for all ages, and the new hot hub is perfect for cool nights after skiing all day at nearby Boyne Mountain.

AMAZING LOCATION: Our Happy Place is just east of downtown Boyne City, located in the 'Happy Triangle' of Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Boyne City. In addition to shopping in downtown Boyne or hiking/sledding at the community's Avalanche Preserve, this home is positioned for many incredible day trips. Young State Park at Lake Charlevoix is 6 minutes away. Boyne Falls and Boyne Mountain are less than 10 minutes away. Walloon Lake and the Village of Walloon is 9 minutes away. Petoskey is 20 minutes away. Charlevoix is 25 minutes away. The charming town of Harbor Springs and Pond Hill Farm is about 45 minutes away. Head north an hour to get to the Mackinac Bridge, or head south 1 hr 15 minutes for endless fun at world-renowned Traverse City.
