Shangri-La @ Rowland: Eclectic and Stylish Cottage

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Original hardwood floors. Guests will love staying in "Thunderbolt" which is a historic fishing village nestled in Savannah. Tybee Island beach is 12 miles away. Savannah's Historic District is less than 5 miles away.

Guests can stroll from this home on Rowland Ave to the Thunderbolt Town Hall to use the community dock and walk or jog along the River Drive sidewalk overlooking the stunning inter-coastal waterway. The cottage is walking distance to Tubby's, Thunderbolt Marine, Tortuga's, Chiriya's and Coach's Corner. It takes 15 minutes to drive to the night life area in downtown Savannah (less than 5 miles away). Whole Foods and Target are just a couple of miles down the street for easy procurement of whatever your group needs on your trip.

The pool is not heated but it is maintained weekly, year round.

Great location, pool was amazing, needed to be cleaned a little better and pool chairs were torn and “small” grill was unusable but the pool itself was nice.Older house but nice.

Old house

When we walked in the smell inside the house was horrible. Smelled like old socks. Ac couldn't cool down the house when it is hot outside. There were no pictures of bathrooms and it is old. Bathtub is gross. Sink is okay. Floors are wood but old. Pool was okay

Wonderful stay!!!

We had no complaints with our stay here. Furniture was comfortable. Location was far enough away from the noise, but close enough to go everywhere. The host was great at responding back to questions in a timely manner. Would love to return back here during the summer, so we can use the pool!

This place was amazing!

Check-in was super easy, you get an email with easy to understand instructions. The house was very well maintained, the beds slept amazing and the pool was fantastic. I have absolutely zero complaints about my stay here. We had one little hiccup when I first arrived, the beds were unmade (no linens at all). Management answered the phone and was very polite, housekeeping showed up in a matter of about 10 minutes and made the beds with fresh linens.They were very nice and polite and even asked to make sure that they were not in our way! Very professional! I would gladly stay at this place EVERY time I visit Savannah!! Can’t wait for the next trip there!

Bachelorette weekend

The location was perfect for what we wanted to do! Half way between tybee island and downtown savannah. Easy to drive or uber. House was comfortable for 6 women. Could use some TLC (bathtub has seen better days) we had to clean the pool before using. Filter was completely full and lots of debris in the pool. There was not enough toilet paper left for all of us for the 5 days we were there and there was trash left in the house when we arrived. If you like to hang clothes during a trip there are no hangers in the house. We did cook and eat at the house regularly and there were no cleaning supplies at all; not even dish detergent to clean up after meals. Overall it was a good long weekend.with a few inconveniences.

Just Perfect!

House was clean and well equipped. The pool was great as well. We enjoyed staying at this house and will definitely book again on any future trips to the area. We had such an awesome time creating life memories in this little home. Highly recommend! <3

Summer Vacay

20 minutes from Tybee and 20 minutes from Savanah, it was the best of both worlds. My kids loved coming back from the day’s activities/beach and hitting the pool. As advertised and would stay again or recommend to anyone else.

Always Great

This is the second time we have stayed here and my family just loves it. While the street is meh, the location is stellar and we love staying in Thunderbolt and away from the busy downtown. Plus a large yard to run around is helpful with kids. We will definitely stay again.

Charming

Charming old home about a 12 minute drive from the riverfront, City Market, and historical district. About 20 minute drive to the beach. Comfortable foam mattresses and plenty of pillows. Nice pool and deck. Not the most picturesque neighborhood but definitely safe. Would recommend to friends and would rent again.

Wonderful and lots of space

Oh my gosh the owner provided anything I could think of and in abundance. Lovely outdoor areas to sit and relax. Sadly the weather was no conducive to use the pool. Perhaps next time.

Great Family Vacation Spot

The location of the house is nicely situated between Tybee Beach and downtown. We easily went from one activity to another. The pool was a great addition to our vacation. We were in it a lot! We had to contact the management company for a problem with the refrigerator and they responded immediately and arranged for the repair quickly. The repairman was also great. My only minor complaint is that I wish they would put some shelves in the hall bathroom. There was no place to put any toiletries. Definitely not a deal breaker though. The neighborhood is a bit odd. A blend of commercial and residential, but we felt safe and it was very quiet. They provided quality towels which isn’t always the case!

Cute little home!

Overall, my family and I had a wonderful stay. It was our first time in the Savannah area, and this location was close to everything. There were several grocery stores nearby, great restaurants, within 15 mins from Tybee Island and the pool was a fantastic way to cool off in the hot/humid weather. The neighborhood itself was kind of shady, and my hubby wouldn’t let me do any morning runs/walks alone. There were, however a lot of patrolling cops within the area, so that could be looked at in a good way or bad way. The house was equipped with absolutely everything we needed. Very cozy and a perfect size for our family of 4. We had a couple of concerns initially and both were responded to promptly and taken care of. The owner was very responsive and very helpful. We’d definitely stay in the same area if we were to visit the area again.

Loved the space!!

We loved the property! The most important thing for us was having family space to visit for the ones staying on the property and my parents that visited during the day. The adjoining living room and dining room made plenty of seating for 3 families. Pros: Washer and dryer Covered parking: it rained on our visit. 2 bathrooms Plenty of seating: Again it rained and we stayed in one whole day. Plenty of beds Number of TVs! Front and back porch seating Beautiful/fun decor Full size coffee pot Iron and ironing board Cons: Lawn could use a mowing Wasp nest my front door Cleaning service was still there at check-in time. Back room/ bathroom were not completely clean The interior doors knobs did not latch into the door frame. This is a problem when you have kids. Hooks for hanging coats in laundry room would have been very helpful. Overall, it was a great space for our family, and we would visit again.

The house was exactly as billed and clean!! Our family really enjoyed the closeness to activities and quietness of the area. We also thoroughly enjoyed the pool!! Had a great stay and had great communication with owners! We loved it and would definitely stay again!!
