Built in fall 2020, this beautiful cottage is ready for your short or long term stay in the Matanuska Susitna Valley. Enjoy stunning views of the Chugach Mountains from the property. The cottage is minutes away from the Iditarod Headquarters Museum, 7-10 minutes from coffee shops, restaurants, Target, Fred Meyers and more. 20 minutes from world class hiking at Hatcher’s Pass. One hour north and you’ll be in the rustic and fun town of Talkeetna. Head to Palmer in 25 minutes and enjoy the Reindeer Farm, Musk Ox Farm, Friday Flings or even the Alaska State Fair. We are in the middle of it all! Stop on your way to Denali, stay while visiting friends and family or stay as a long term executive guest. Outdoor seating on your own patio with a grill to enjoy the long Alaskan summer nights. We’ve added thoughtful touches throughout. Stocked with fresh local Alaskan coffee beans, creamer and sugar for your stay. Even to-go cups for the road! ☕️ This is a classy little cottage you’ll be happy you stopped by!

    Beautiful home away from home

    Property was clean and organized. Everything we needed was there and more. There were games and books that made it fun even for our 6 yr old granddaughter. Very much appreciated the beautiful and quite setting.

    Amazing property, people and location

    Just a great experience for us. Beautiful cottage, very well decorated and in a perfect location for exploring in Alaska. The owner (and her family) was no less amazing and made us feel right at home. We loved our time here and are most appreciative to Lisa and family for the use of their beautiful cottage and the great Alaska hospitality. Big thanks!

    Five Stars All Around!

    Wild Rose Cottage was the perfect place to stay for a couple of days. Lisa has truly thought of everything - the simple things like plenty of towels, soap, well-equipped kitchen. The extra touches like a coffee station, snacks, ziplock bags, and LOTS of travel brochures and info about Alaska. The view over the bluff is just stunning, and the outdoor patio to sit and hang out is perfect. Definitely one of the best VRBOs we have stayed at!

    Beautiful

    The views from the cottage were so beautiful the pictures we took looked paintings! The cottage was spotless, decorated in the most welcoming way, and the appliances were top notch. The owners were amazing. They had great suggestions for local sightseeing! We visited Denali and Whittier and lots of places in between. I would definitely book this place again in the future.

    Lovely cottage - host should clone and have others

    This cottage was lovely - from the design and layout of the cottage to the warm welcoming personality of our host, Lisa. Perfect for attending our nieces wedding and visiting the the Mat-Su Valley. Bed was super comfy, kitchen was stocked with nice-to-haves and bathroom was roomy with closet and washer/dryer. Very nice welcome binder with lots of info about the cottage as well as brochures for visiting the area.

    Jim & Kim Family Visit

    The cottage was well stocked beyond expectations and super clean. Plenty of utensils for cooking, games, books to read, info on local attractions and great local coffee. Bed was comfortable. Everything functioned properly. Property owners were there to great us, including their grandkids - nice touch. This cottage is where we will stay when visiting our family in Wasilla.

    The BEST ever!

    The cottage was beautifully decorated with all the things to make you feel at home. It was super clean and had everything you could need. The view was spectacular from the bluff. We enjoyed sitting there looking at nature. Added bonus was we had family close by. Lisa was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed visiting with her. Hopefully we will be able to plan a return visit soon.

    Beautiful Property With Excellent Management

    This is an incredible place to stay with everything my son and I could need. It had a comfortable bed, full and well appointed kitchen, and washer/dryer. I appreciate all the little details that the host provided. They were also extremely friendly and we felt welcome. Thank you so much! This was the best rental we had in our two weeks in Alaska.

    This property was absolutely the best VRBO WE HAVE EVER RENTED.

    The information on the web site does not do it justice. This rental is Over the top beautiful with a comfortable bed that feels Like a cloud. Very creative decor and spotless in every way. We just loved orb.!The host is a complete angel and she gave us bagels to start the next day as we flew in late to Alaska. I would and will go back to that the next time we are in Alaska. Lovely three restful days.

    Honeymoon Happiness

    Driving into the neighborhood of the Cottage made us feel at home. The property is very inviting and cozy. The inside of the cottage is bright and welcoming. The kitchen is perfect size for the 2 of us and everything was cleaned, labeled and ready to use. The bed is very comfortable and the mountain view from the bedroom is amazing! We enjoyed being able to walk up to the front yard area to enjoy our coffee and more of the view also. Almost every day of our stay we got to see moose in the yard grazing on willow. This cottage really made us feel like we were in Alaska! I highly recommend staying here for almost any occasion. The accessibility to shops, stores and tourist areas are within 5-15 minutes away, and a nice in between drive to Denali, and Seward and everywhere in between! The host family is very pleasant and kind, you can really tell they put their heart into the Wild Rose Cottage. We can’t wait to come back and visit soon! Thank you Wild Rose Cottage for being a big part of our amazing Honeymoon!

    As far as the property goes it was very welcoming and so many cute finishing touches. She definitely thought of everything. The bed was super comfortable and it was a relaxing place to be. The short walk to the view was absolutely stunning. Just know if you go here the rules are VERY STRICT. Quiet time is 10pm which we knew. We went out to eat with family then they checked the place out (they live close, 1.5 miles, and always looking for recommendations for friends). They beeped their horn at 10:04 when leaving (like love you bye, 3 beeps) and within 2 minutes we had a message reminding us it’s quiet time and only 2 visitors allowed. Our visitors weren’t there long at all and we were super quiet just ending the night. The host drove by in a side by side and kept an eye on the property every time. Another time our family dropped us off and we looked over and the host was in the driveway looking at us. It always felt like we were being watched. They never walked over and introduced themselves so we thought it was a bit odd. We left the place very clean and were respectful of the space but if you stay here don’t honk your horn. And the bugs are terrible so lots of bug spray and don’t plan to be outside.

    Beautiful Homey Cabin

    The property manager, Lisa goes over and beyond the accommodations. They think of everything! Extremely clean and bed is super comfortable. Definitely by far the best VRBO place we have stayed at and if we ever get back out to Alaska, we will be renting this wonderful cabin again. Highly recommended!

    Absolutely Perfect!

    Wonderful from start to finish! Lisa is great, easy communication and she made us feel so welcome in this adorable cottage. This was the perfect home base for our family of four as we explored the beautiful Matanuska Valley, the cottage had absolutely everything we needed and more. Fully stocked kitchen, laundry, comfortable beds, games for the kids, great outdoor space. Highly recommend!

    Fantastic spot in Wasilla

    We are a family of 4 visiting as previous residents of Alaska. We loved the convenience of Lisa's cottage to Settler’s Bay Golf course. We loved our stay and found all amenities valuable. Our two kids- age 7 and 5 - slept on the pull out couch. It was a comfy, cozy, cottage for our brief visit. We would stay again and also recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

    Exactly as advertized/pictured. Spacious, clean, and comfy. Would be great for longer stay as base to explore Wasilla, Palmer, and Anchorage.

    Everything about the cottage was picture perfect. So many details and care was taken into making our stay here so wonderful. I appreciate the communication and hospitality with the owners.     Beautiful cottage

    Beautiful cottage that feels like home

    Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely property. From the moment we pulled up to the cottage we felt like we had landed somewhere truly special. The hosts are great communicators and have thought of everything you could need. They have an outdoor patio complete with a grill, table and comfy chairs, hammocks, and outdoor games set up for you to enjoy. On the inside the decor is very cozy, clean, and inviting. You feel like you've taken in a wonderful breath of fresh air when you arrive in this property. We wish we had booked this cottage for more days, and hope to come back in the future.

    This is by far the most beautifully decorated and well appointed guest house we have ever stayed in! The hostess went above and beyond our expectations in every way. She had thoughtful, intentional touches throughout. She was extremely communicative, kind. and accessible. The home, property, and surrounding views were gorgeous. I would highly recommend this top notch property!

    I was born and raised in Alaska. My husband moved here with his family in 1984 from Texas. We have raised 4 kids in Alaska (2 still at home). We are blessed to be grandparents to 2 sweet grandsons. We love Alaska for the people, the land, the beauty, the freedom, the fresh air and more!

    This property was inherited by my grandfather who homesteaded in Alaska in the 1950's. He worked hard to improve the land and his legacy carries on in all my family that now has 6-10 acre parcels on the land. The 120 acres is still owned by original family members.

    O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

    The incredible, unobstructed view of the Chugach Mountain Range and Cook inlet. The view is always changing with the seasons and the weather. It never gets old and we never take it for granted! This property is quiet and surround by family. Our kids ride their bikes on our road, take walks to see Grandma down the road and have grown up playing in these woods! You might even spot my grandsons on a walk!
