## Emplacement
Also known as Clichy-la-Garenne, the city of Clichy is a commune bordering Paris. Born from a Gallo-Roman villa, the village has gradually expanded while keeping its authentic character. Strongly wooded until the Middle Ages, it is from this period that the name of the city changes to become Clichy-la-Garenne in reference to the numerous royal hunting parties that took place there. The revolution marks a shift in the economic activities of the city. It saw the rise of the laundresses and washerwomen. The famous "Goulue" of the Moulin Rouge was one of the laundresses of Clichy. It was at the beginning of the 19th century that industrialization took hold of the town with the arrival of the Maës crystal factory and the Appert glass factory, then in 1950, of Citroën. However, Clichy has not lost its "village" character and intends to preserve it between modernity and tradition.
