Charming Cottage - Ultimate Relaxation Destination

I enjoyed Sea Glass Cottage as a vacation rental SO much.... I bought it! You can still enjoy all it's charms and convenient location too.
Onancock is central to all the exciting sights, sounds, and recreation on the Eastern Shore between the historic and scenic Chesapeake Bay and the Ocean. Beaches, boating, kayaking, biking, hiking, wildlife and some of the nations best birdwatching, golf and much much more all at your fingertips! Onancock itself is a delightful small village of interesting and eclectic attractions - excellent restaurants and watering holes, first rate galleries, a wonderful farmers market on Saturdays, old fashioned movie theater with first run movies, live performance venues and so much more. There's a passenger ferry to Tangier at the town wharf for exciting adventures on the bay. Rent bikes and kayaks too. A short trip north takes you to the outstanding beaches and wild pony adventures to be had at Chincoteague and Assateague islands among other nearby destinations. You're going to love it.

Very cute cottage and within walking distance of town. Quiet, cute neighborhood. Very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. We liked sitting out on the front porch for morning coffee and nighttime wine, watching the far away, but colorful sunset.

Such a wonderful place! Bright and spacious, everything I could need -- fresh towels, fully stocked kitchen, books and information about the area, and a large wooden table in the kitchen that was big enough for eating, checking in on the computer, and working a puzzle. Furnishings are a nice blend of comfortable and stylish, with local artists' works and nice design touches. Walking distance to "downtown" with its art galleries, shops, and restaurants, and an easy drive to Chincoteague or Cape Charles. This was my 4th (or maybe 5th?) stay, and a great place to get away and just relax for a while! Doris is a great host and very responsive to any questions.

Your cottage is so cute. It is comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed and more. One suggestion. It was raining a flood when we got there by the time we got our stuff in we were soaked. House could use a gutter over the front door. Thank you for a great stay.

Lovely little house

We just stayed two nights in this cute little house. Everything was adorable, tastefully decorated in a shabby sheik, well thought out style. Our only complaint would be the bathing. We were not a young group, therefore we were unable to use the shower in the clawfoot tub. There was nothing to hold on to when you climb into the tub/shower. Only one of our group were able to shower!Also, the railing going down the back cement steps was not stable, and one of our party almost fell going back in when the railing bent out of the ground and pulled away from the wall at the top. Fortunately, his wife was right behind him and was able to avert what could have been a bad fall! This really should be addressed,

A lovely cottage in lovely Onancock

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay. It is in a quiet neighborhood very close to the downtown area. It was so clean and neat. Decorated very tastefully. It was a comfortable, happy cottage. We will definitely be back.

Historic Garden Tour

We had an absolutely beautiful weekend at the charming Sea Glass Cottage. We were in the area for the VA Eastern Shore historic garden tour. The cottage is so lovely. The pictures do not really do it justice. We loved the balance of antiques and comfort. The beds are so comfortable. Doris provided everything that we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Very Cute House

This was our second stay. It’s extremely convenient to Commonwealth Senior Living where my mother lives. This was a sweet little cottage to relax and regroup after some very hard days of moving her to Assisted Living.

Seaglass Cottage Getaway

This cottage was perfectly appointed and was located less than a 10 minute walk into downtown Onancock. The cottage was spacious inside and the property had a nice fire pit area by a little creek. Doris was easily accessible and we would rent here again.

Perfect Cozy House

I had stayed at this property in the past and was really glad to get to stay again. It is clean, quiet, and close to the town center of Onancock. Really looking forward to returning!

Beautiful cottage close to town center

Cutely decorated very comfortable and spacious vacation house an easy walk to Onancock shops galleries and restaurants. Excellent A/C too to fend off summer warmth. House has a huge yard abutting creak and nice amenities interesting books and helpful travel tips. Great stay in Onancock!

Amazing House, Great Location

My friend were doing a girl's trip and needed a place near the Tangier Island ferry. We got so much more! This house is in a great location...3 minutes from the ferry and restaurants and Walmart! All of which we needed! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Doris was amazing to work with as well! Thank you, Doris!

We Want to Live Here!

My cousin and I stayed in the cottage for a girls' weekend. We adore it! We wish we could live here forever! It is clean and comfortable and better than the photos represent. We especially love the layout and charming decor. It is very close to the quaint little town. We enjoyed lunch on the deck at Mallard's. We had lots of fun at The Blarney Stone for karaoke. We highly recommend this cottage!

Awesome place!

This was my second time at the sea glass cottage and truly enjoyed it. Statig here is easy, comfy and relaxing. Beds are comfortable, house is clean and in a great location. I will be back.

A gem in a little town

My husband and I chose this destination as a little getaway. The space was a perfect way to relax and leave everyday cares behind. While Onancock is a little town, it it chock full of different things to do. There are many galleries to explore. There are diverse dining opportunities. If you prefer to explore the surrounding area, there are options within a half hour drive in any direction. The Sea Glass Cottage is a very clean and quiet space. It is well stocked with all of the amenities of a hotel and more. There is a fully stocked(equipment, utensils, spices, etc.) kitchen as well as a fire pit and BBQ grill. There are magazines, board games and a Roku TV if you just want to relax. The property owner, Doris, is very attentive and will communicate what her expectations are as well as what she offers to fulfill your expectations. My husband and I are already working on another trip to fit in those things we could not in this stay.

Beautiful Little Cottage

Great house and friendly neighbors!

Sea Glass is a wonderful place to stay in Onancock. Very close to downtown and all the fun with art galleries, great restaurants, and bars. My wife and I highly recommend Sea Glass. Best WI-FI and fully stocked kitchen. Very clean and well maintained home. We are already planning our next visit!

Lovely!

This was my third stay at Sea Glass Cottage, and it was just as nice as I remembered. Everything we needed was there -- well stocked kitchen, beach supplies, lots of fresh towels, books, games, and good services on the TV. The cottage is an easy walk to galleries and restaurants in "downtown" Onancock, and there is information at the cottage about other attractions and activities available on the Eastern Shore. Mallard's provided a delightful dockside dining experience, complete with beautiful sunset and live acoustic music. Second Friday Art Crawl gave us an opportunity to visit several of the galleries exhibiting local art and meet the artists. Didn't use the backyard as much as we hoped to -- it's an expansive space complete with picnic table, grill, and firepit, but it was too hot while we were there to spend much time outside! The cottage is comfortably furnished with a lot of original artwork, and the host is readily available to answer questions. All in all, a perfectly lovely week!
