** Placencia, Belize is your ideal location! Our villa is a private property located in a quiet fishing village to seclude yourself away from others. You can distance your family and friends between reefs and rainforest in a little piece of paradise. We have our own dedicated onsite staff, properly trained to thoroughly clean the properties from top to bottom. In addition to our daily cleaning we have taken extra measures to clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in common areas (e.g. tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, phones, remote controls, handles, desks, toilets, sinks). **

Villa Groovy Gecko is a magnificent, large, very open, two story private waterfront beach house located directly on the Caribbean Sea in Placencia, Belize. Large infinity pool on beach, with outdoor covered area.

Home is built to enjoy the ocean front breezes and fresh air. Downstairs the large open air courtyard is complete with full outdoor kitchen and bar entertainment area.
Outstanding features radiate luxury and beauty throughout this exquisite 5 Bedroom, 5.5 Bath residence.

The home is meticulously maintained by full time onsite staff and very active owner.

The main home is two stories consisting of over 3,500 sq ft of living area and covered patios directly over looking a private beach and the ocean.

Upstairs in the home you will find the master bedroom with a large master bath and breathtaking views of the ocean. Upstairs also includes a second bedroom with a private bathroom, a large living room, dinning room, large well equipped open kitchen and a massive covered patio that goes across the entire back of the home overlooking the ocean.

The three remaining bedrooms are located on the first floor, each with its own private bath.

While the home is specifically designed to take advantage of the trade winds coming off the ocean the home is equipped with the latest high end ECO FRIENDLY SOLAR PANEL assisted A/C systems that not only are the quietest available anywhere but also VERY energy efficient.

Cook dinner on either the large outside gas grill or the Green Egg charcoal grill and enjoy a local drink while relaxing under the fans on the large covered patios just steps from the ocean.

We are located just 1 mile south from the Placencia Hotel and 1 mile north of Maya Beach. The home is uniquely located in upscale area that provides for a very private beach setting, yet it is close to fine dining and other upscale resorts in an exclusive section of Placencia, just 10 minutes from Placencia Village and air strip.

Effective July 14th 2022, the Government of Belize has decided to remove all public health measures at the points of entry in Belize. Belize Travel Insurance is now optional for entry. Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test is no longer required upon arrival and for entry into Belize.

This process and experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The only bad part was that we had to leave. The owner was an excellent communicator and had us prepared to arrive and the staff on site was amazing. We hope to be able go back to this property in the future.

Beautiful home and located right on the beach. Home was exactly as described and in the photos, and was immaculately maintained. Plenty of toys on the beach - kayaks and paddle boards which are shared by the three homes all next to each other, also had cornhole boards as well. Upon request we were also able to obtain bikes and basic snorkel equipment. Lots of nice outdoor seating, including hammocks. The team that handled the property were all wonderful - the property manager, chef, cleaning staff, and outdoor maintenance staff were all so kind and hardworking and took incredible care of the property. Would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived til the moment we drove out of the gate, Mabel and staff saw to our every need! Special shout out to Manuel for the delicious meals that he prepared. Also to the maintenance guys for removing the seaweed from the beach for our event photo shoot! This is a wonderful property in a great location with the absolute best staff! Our stay could not have been better!!

Fantastic 50th birthday trip

Our stay at Groovy Gecko in Placencia was nothing short of spectacular! The moment we arrived, we were greeted by Mabel and welcomed with fruit juice and rum and a tour of the property. It’s a tropical paradise with breathtaking ocean views! The Villa has everything you need from a well stocked kitchen, blender for drinks, coffee maker, large balcony, great bedrooms, wonderful pool, hammocks, bar and grill area, paddle boards and even a pier with manatees swimming nearby! Geri is very responsive to any questions and kept track of provisions and our excursion schedules. Every morning the staff raked the sargassm off the beach (wasn’t much this time of year-March) and cleaned the pool. Emanuel, the talented chef prepared incredible meals tailored to our dietary needs, from fresh seafood to delicious local specialties—every dish was great! Mabel kept the villa spotless and ensured we had everything we needed, making our experience effortless and relaxing.Villa Groovy Gecko is the ultimate getaway for anyone looking to unwind in luxury, surrounded by natural beauty and top-notch hospitality, perfect for our girls-trip of 9. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing property, Loved Placencia

We had an amazing 8 days at Villa Groovy Gecko. Geri was amazing to work with planning the trip and answering questions. She provided lots of info and arranged our transportation ( minor jr with jewel belize was great) and excursions ( Captain jacks for snorkeling/fishing, AtV to waterfall, Cave Tubing and Monkey River tour) which were flawless. Once onsite Mabel was available for questions we had and provided daily housekeeping and laundry which was amazing The chef Manuel provided delicious meals made from scratch, so nice not to have to cook for our group. Having the house stocked with basic provisions made it possible to enjoy the house immediately. We enjoyed sunrise every morning from the house, dock or beach. The house had bikes to explore the area, paddle boards and kayaks and we had many corn hole tournaments on the beach.The golf cart was perfect for trips to the grocery or local bakery. We had an awesome week and highly recommend this home and Belize

Awesome Vacation 5 Stars

Where to begin? We were a group of 9 adult cousins. The house and property was better than described. Geri the manager was outstanding--she answered all of our silly and not-so silly questions immediately and was great in keeping in touch with us and the excursion company when we were having email trouble. The housekeeping staff was on top of everything, including laundry and took excellent care of us. Manny our chef was amazing and we wanted to take him home. He even cooked us an extra dinner one night when he was finished cooking for the other house. We wanted him rather than eating out. He is a keeper for sure and we would return just for his cooking! The house was great and even though we had a rainy week, the one day it poured all day we had a great time just playing cards all day on the veranda watching the rain. We had an emergency situation and Julio accompanied us to the urgent care clinic. We can't say enough about everything and hope to return again.

Great place for a family vacation

The Groovy Gecko was perfect for our family group. We had 7 adults a 3 year old and a one year old. The location had everything we needed to keep the kids entertained with the pool, pier, beach and ocean easily available. Plenty of shaded areas for the hot part of the day. Lots of safe space for the kids to play. The best part was the services. The daily cleaning and laundry was a great convenience and Chef Manuel was fantastic. We found this house to be a great value when you add in these extra services. There is also a golf cart on site to run to get Groceries or to a restaurant, or into town.

Just returned from a week at Groovy Gecko. The house is beautiful and well appointed. The pool, beach and house accommodations were just as pictured and described. We were particularly impressed with the housekeeping staff and chef. All of our requests were met with quick response. When we return to Belize, Groovy Gecko will be our first and only choice.

Great Stay!

We had a great time! The house is very spacious. This was our girls trip for 2024. We hung out mostly by the pool and upstairs. The downstairs is in an open air setting with 3 bedrooms adjacent. All the 5 bedrooms have A/C. The upstairs has A/C. We were there for 5 days. We used the golf cart to travel to Placencia Village often, about 25 minutes away. We loved eating where the locals ate also. We had 2 days with the chef. Great food! He was on point for every meal. Mindy was great too and helpful. We loved the area. we will be back! The upstairs

Villa Groovy Gecko provided the great location for our family of ten vacation. On site amenities were available to all ages. Amazing vacation!

We recently stayed at Groovy Gecko for 6 days and it was perfect. The property is beautiful and the staff were so accommodating and pleasant. We were there with 10 people and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house and grounds were immaculate at all times. Anything we asked for was answered and handled asap. We had the chef for 3 of the days and we were in heaven. I would definitely recommend this property, def 5 star!!!!

Family get away

Great property for teenagers who all want their own rooms and bathrooms. A lot to do on property and a perfect home base for snorkeling and scuba diving. We went in wet season so the mosquitos and sand flys were bad, but only at night. Staff and host super responsive and nice. Highly recommend.

Paradise in Placencia

Villa Groovy Gecko is a slice of paradise in the Caribbean. It's a private beach front villa with all the amenities of a resort. It's a great location, close to the store and restaurants and the staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. We had an amazing time and did not want to leave our little paradise. We will definitely be staying here again!

We enjoyed our stay in Belize. Groovy Gecko is a beautiful property meticulously maintained by the staff. A couple of drawbacks were the noise. The street noise starts about 5:00 am, neighbors on both sides can be loud any time of the day, staff are fixing or building things most of the day. Peaceful and tranquil this place is not.

Wonderful experience

We had 5 adults and 2 children ages 4 & 2 years. Great beach and wonderful pool. Grounds very well maintained. Daily housekeeping and laundry. We hired Chef Domingo for all 5 days of our stay which I would strongly recommend especially with little ones. Very accurate description of the property on-line. Geri always responded to our inquiries within an hour. Numerous restaurants within short golf cart ride but we only ate out the night of arrival. Great dive trip with Captain Jak’s. Rented a sailboat with Daytrippers. Wonderful experience.

Magical Week at Villa Groovy Gecko - Placencia

Our multigenerational family just returned from a week stay at Villa Groovy Gecko. The entire week could not have been more perfect. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The chef prepared meals were absolutely delicious. The check-in and check-out process was flawless. We cannot say anything negative. We highly recommend Groovy Gecko if you visit Placencia. Luxurious stay, perfect for large groups!

Our group of 9 people had a fantastic time at Villa Groovy Gecko. Our favorites: the private chef / menu (including fresh fish and lobster), the team at the Villa (including daily laundry service and unlimited coconuts to consume), enough space for our entire group to stay comfortably, amenities (corn hole, plenty of kayaks and paddle boards). Amazing Home and Perfect Setup

Groovy Gecko was the perfect home for a group of couples with children…but it would really be perfect for any type of group! I was initially hesitant about renting a home, because I prefer not grocery shopping or cooking on vacation, but with this set up we didn’t have to lift a finger!! It was perfect! The beach was like an unspoiled little paradise. We saw all kinds of ocean life and the pool was a great size! We brought our own volleyball net for some extra fun :) Domingo, our chef, was incredible!!! I can’t say enough about the staff on site… they were some of the most hard working and helpful people! The bugs were no joke…we pretty much had to have bug spray on at all times! But it’s nothing to deter us from going back! All in all it was a great trip and we would highly recommend!

Amazing Week

This house is fantastic and the view is amazing. Our first time to Belize and not sure we could have picked a better house and location. Not only is the house and outdoor space 5 star the staff and chef Domingo is better than you can rate. We did add more days with Domingo and it was worth every penny. We had outstanding meals and his personality was so much fun. Some of the best food and deserts we have ever had. All the advantages of a 5 Star resort and you are in a private house. Highly recommend staying at the Groovy Gecko
