WELCOME!!YOU HAVE IT ALL HERE!! This is the absolute get away from the hustle of people! Private beach and beautiful quiet place. I also have enhanced cleaning procedures for sanitizing. Private sandy beach on the largest of the Great Lakes - Lake Superior. Beautiful fresh clean water to kayak, canoe or fish! Wake up to beautiful sunrises... with your favorite beverage and birds singing. Behind the cottage is a natural wildlife preserve where you will see Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, and Sand Hill Cranes gathering their daily food! Perfect for the avid bird watcher. This cottage is super clean and right on Lake Superior sandy beach! Please put your name and location when entering an inquiry. Thank you. No smokers on premise!
A quiet and extremely clean place to relax and only 10 minutes from Lake Linden, 30 minutes from Copper Harbor (Fort Wilkins), Houghton, and Calumet 25(mining town history and almost the capitol of Michigan in the 1800's). Enjoy the hiking and biking along the Keweenaw Peninsula or take a couple of days and go to Isle Royale National Park. The boats leave from Houghton and Copper Harbor (only 35 minutes away from your cottage).

Winter skiing (Mount Bohemia, largest vertical drop in the USA), LacLaBelle, and Mount Ripley in Houghton. Great cross country skiing at Swedetown trails and Copper Harbor, also. Snowmobile the Keweenaw! Payment will be returned if cancellation is given 60 days prior to reserved date, or if property gets rented in the interum. Please call or email me before booking with any questions. I require $350 to hold the reservation. I also require a $1200 security deposit.

This place is right on the beach. Great views of the bay. The house was very clean and well maintained. If we are ever in the area again, we would stay there.

What a comfortable, clean and beautiful property. Host was very communicative and available. The outdoor area was super nice right on the Greatest of all the Great Lakes. Quiet area and the remote locale was so appreciated as we could unplug and truly relax. I highly recommend.

What a beautiful place, spectacular view. Upper peninsula has so much beauty to offer, we will definitely be coming back. Jan was such a wonderful, accommodating host.

Excellent all around! By far, the cleanest place we have ever stayed. Such a relaxed vibe. Loved going to sleep to the sounds of waves on Lake Superior! We hope to be back!

We stayed here a week in late June, 2026. That week must have added at least two weeks to my life span. Perfect for a couple. Second bedroom has double bed plus bunk beds, too. Host Jan was all we could ask. Great for kicking back, watching the lake 50 feet away, walking the beach, kayaking as weather permits, eating the finest lake fish, exploring the rich history of Copper Country. Everything we wanted in a get-away. Expect limited cell service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lake Superior Cottage. Only a few steps to the sandy beach and fresh water of Lake Superior. A great place for couples to get away and relax. The cottage was super clean and well stocked. And the location is perfect for those who enjoy falling asleep to the gentle waves on the sandy shore. Highly recommended!

Our family genuinely enjoyed our stay and it is exactly what we needed! This cute summer cottage is a hidden gem that offers everything you need to make the perfect summer memories. Our kids loved building sandcastles, swimming, paddle boarding, walking the beach, watching sunrises. Jan was the sweetest host and easy to communicate with. We are already looking forward to our visit next summer!

The epitome of your lake side beach cabin. We arrived to some awesome waves, and walked into a cozy cabin. Literally didn't look at my phone for days. Very nice recliner's. The 3 season porch facing Mother Superior was awesome to be outside while being inside. Jan was so easy to deal with and we are thankful for her sharing her home. You can't help but relax.

Where the blacktop ends

This property was 100% the way it was advertised. It is in a beautiful location with comfortable accommodations. We enjoyed this property and hope to come back one day. The only down fall was all the mosquitoes. We were not prepared for that but bug spray helped!

June 2022

We stayed here for a week in June 2022. The cottage is clean and serene, located down an unpaved road on Lake Superior beachfront property. Owner has excellent communication and responsiveness. Wildlife is abundant in the area. All of the Keewenaw Penninsula is very accessible from this location. Would happily stay here again in the future.

Relaxing and refreshing

My husband and I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the beautiful beach. We had fabulous weather and were able to fall asleep with the windows open, listening to the waves. Having a sandy beach was great just for sitting and relaxing. The lake water was so refreshing. We took a day trip up to Copper Harbor with stops at a few waterfalls along the way. We also enjoyed some time in Houghton. The home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Jan was available to answer questions via text throughout our stay. Would definitely love to come back for another visit.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the darling cottage on Lake Superior. To fall asleep to the waves crashing the shore, and to wake with the sunrise over the vast expanse of water, was just what the soul needed. Rest and relaxation was paramount. The cottage itself offered everything one would possibly need. It was extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable, and we lacked for nothing. Jan, our Host, was exceptional from beginning to end. For a total respite from the craziness of life, this is the place to come to. Kayaks are available, and leisurely walks on the shore were perfection. We look forward to returning again one day. Thank you Jan for a memorable stay! God bless you and God bless America!

Relaxing ,unplug from the world

The cabin is very clean and comfortable. It was fun to cook in Jan has a great retro oven, too cook with. We had two teenagers with us. The best was to watch them also relax and become kids again. Morning sunrise is wonderful. Walking the beach and just relaxing and having your feet in the water. Reading a book. It's is a wonderful place to just unplug from the word for the week or more. What a beautiful cottage right on the beach of Lake Superior! This was our third trip to the Upper Peninsula, but our first time visiting the Keweenaw Peninsula. The cottage has a great deal of charm, both inside and out, and is very well-maintained. Jan was a fantastic host; she was incredibly accommodating with some of our special requests, and we appreciated that. The cottage was exactly as it is presented.From a location standpoint, the cottage is situated in a more remote area of the peninsula, away from tourists, which was exactly what we were looking for. However, it's important to note that you will need to drive 15 to 30 minutes to reach various attractions, but the drive is absolutely beautiful. This is exactly what you should want while visiting such an amazing area.If I could change anything, it would be the presence of flies and mosquitoes, but that's just part of nature and not the host's fault. It’s to be expected in July, especially in the type of area this cottage is nestled in. This was not a surprise to us as we have visited this area in July before.If you are looking for a place to get away from the rush of life, the distractions of your phone, the stress of work, this cottage is a perfect way to disconnect.

Invasive owner

Just so you know what was upsetting here is a list of Your floors were filthy You did not list that you stayed onsite You told me you stay on site after I was on my way and then said you stayed across the street 100 yards away above the garage. You actually stayed next to the home 30 feet away above the garage. You tried to rush me the morning of departure by telling me 9 am when actually your books day 9:30am You tried to enter the home while I was showering and I was felt invaded when I came out of the shower in only my towel not expecting to see a stranger trying to barge in to the home to see how dirty the floor was. You offended me by telling me I didn’t bring my wife when you met her the day before???! Also we were told we can have a fire then you made up onshore winds that were not occurring and told me no fires. 🔥 after I brought an enclosed fire pit just for this reason after we spoke about this prior to my showing up. We also purchased firewood for this and had to leave it in the woods as we are not legally able to transport it out of the county

First of all. This man and guests were very aggressive. He swiped the floor after they had been in there for 4 days. There were no complaints until he was checking out. I never was introduced to his wife and she was very young so didn’t realize that she was married to him as they had other young people with them @ the same age. It’s listed right on my site, NO FIRES plus there was a fire ban when he was here. I’m a Respectful owner and I’ve been renting for 25 yrs and have NEVER had any complaints. I’m 100 ft away above my garage. The day they were leaving they were texting back and forth aggressive behavior so I walked over there to be able to talk to them face to face. She came outside the door and we were talking when he came out of the shower with a towel @ him swearing at me. His language was anything but respectful. With all this he actually sent me a text stating that they had a good time. Go figure. Just a scammer in my opinion. A bully! He threatened me if I didn’t give his money back he’d leave a bad review. I had to block my personal phone number cause he was still texting me with aggressive text. Please read my other reviews! Thank you!

I would definitely stay at this cottage again and have already recommended it to family and friends. The view and accommodations were beautiful. The cabin was stylishly decorated and comfortable.

Beautiful piece of heaven on the beach. Very peaceful a nice get away. Owner was amazing.!Beach was beautiful but the flies were bad. Water was not so clear lots of debris.

Magical Experience ❤️

This is my second time staying at Jan’s magical cottage. So clean & comfortable. Beautiful spot in Little Traverse Bay. Love the Sandy beach. Would stay again.

The perfect place to stay

I was so very impressed with the cottage! Looks just like the pictures and so very very clean! When we got there Jan came by to see that we were all set. She knew we had 2 little kids and made sure we knew were everything was for them. She even brought over a beach umbrella for us to use. The beach is the most ideal beach. Pure Sand! Grill to cook and picnic tables to eat on. A small side yard for the kids to play in. The kitchen had everything you may need. Great location to visit all over the peninsula but you really don't even want to leave! We will be back!

Charming and memorable!

My husband and 2 daughters (8 & 9) and I had an incredible time at the cottage and in the area. We were able to see the most incredible sunrises and countless stars! We heard the water at night, which sounded like the ocean. The cottage was clean, cozy and had everything we could need. We toured the Quincy mines, saw Lake on the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains, Brockway Mountains, Copper Harbor, many waterfalls and lighthouses, stopped at the Jam Lady, toured Fort Wilkins, brought our boat and fished some lakes and hiked to the Estivant Pines. Just thinking about it all is making me tear up. We all miss the cottage and area already. I most definitely recommend this cottage and area, it's just perfect! We will definitely be back, Jan! Thank you!!

Cozy cabin

We had a great time during our stay. It is a great place to hang out and relax while listening to the water or serve as a jumping-off spot for exploring the U.P. The cabin had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. Jan is a wonderful hostess and made sure our needs were met.
