Beautiful Spacious Suite with Large Terrace with Spectular View on a Sandy Beach

Located on the beautiful, sandy, swimming beach of Los Ayala approximately 1 km. long, just perfect for a jog or relaxing sunset walk.

The Terraza suite is appointed with beautifully furnished hand carved furniture, original works of art, hand painted dishes and bathroom fixtures (even the toilet!). It has a private entry, bathroom, fully appointed kitchen and private patio and occupies the entire top floor of the villa! Private and spacious!

Fresh flowers await our guests' arrival.
Kayaks, beach furniture, bikes, tennis racquets, SUB and free internet connection are included.

Los Ayala: Our special little town of Los Ayala caters mainly to Mexican tourists but is rapidly being discovered by folks further afield.

There are many palapa style restaurants on the beach, nearby groceries stories and a collective taxi service which will take you to the nearby towns of Rincon de Guayabitos or La Penita. From there, it is easy to catch a bus to Guadalajara, Tepic, Puerto Vallerta or other small towns nearby such as San Francisco or Sayulita which are surfing towns.

On the beach, enjoy purchasing fresh fish, prawns, muffins or other delights including pineapples filled with fresh fruit. One can never go hungry on our beach!

Activities in the Area: There are many things to do here such as fishing, hiking, boating, tennis, kayaking, biking, visiting interesting sights such as the petrogylphs, visits to the various hot springs, the large weekly outdoor market or the boat tour through mangrove swamps to view a multitude of wildlife including crocodiles and many varieties of birds in historic San Blas.

We are proud sponsors of Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue (JBAR). Pet lovers most welcome! Small, well-socialized, quiet pets considered with prior permission. Pets must be leased while on the property and taken off the property to do their 'business'. There is a $50.00 fee.

"Relax and enjoy the beauty of Casa Contenta and Los Ayala”

Casa Contenta, located in the small community of Los Ayala, is a perfect getaway to enjoy the Mexican sun, sand, surf, and sky. Suites are beautifully appointed, and are stocked with kitchen supplies, including dishes, cutlery, and a fridge and stove. Casa Contenta is extremely well maintained, with wonderful vibrant colours, and many pieces of Mexican art a feast for the eyes. The Casa is located right on the beach, and the warm ocean waters are perfect for swimming and other water sports, including kayaking and boogie boarding. The beach is also wonderful for walking. Los Ayala also has many small stores to purchase needed items, and many places to eat, Lin and Jim, the owners of Casa Contenta, are very knowledgeable about the Riviera Nayarit, and offer their guests many tips regarding what to do while visiting, including possible tours, day trips, fishing charters, a massage, hikes, and eating out at restaurants. The nearby communities of Guayabitos and La Penita are easily accessible by taxi and walking. You will be delighted with a very relaxing Mexican holiday stay at Casa Contenta.

Paradise

This place is a gem. The beach is at your doorstep and there are restaurants and vendors close by. You an buy fish and shrimp from the local fishing boats. The water was warm and inviting. Our hosts made us most comfortable and helped us experience the local culture and food. They know where all the restaurants are and recommended cabs for short or longer trips. The Casa is spotless and has artistic touches everywhere. Every morning I was humming "Just Another Day in Paridise". A memorable experience.

Casa Contenta, Los Ayala, Nayarit, Mexico

This is the second time I have been to this beautiful place and this fantastic beach and wonderful Mexican town. Lin and Jim are fantastic hosts and the first time I went there opened up a whole new world for me. The accommodation is fantastic and unique and colorful with lush private garden, right on the beach. Lin and Jim take the time to make sure you figure out how to get around, and quite often they take you! Always lots of suggestions for things to do and see as well as the good places to eat and shop. It is easy to get around without a car once you are there, the taxis are inexpensive. Guayabitos is close by with lots of shopping and the Monday market; La Penita is a bit further away but only a 40 peso taxi ride from Casa Contenta. The Saturday morning market there is amazing and quite the experience. There are so many good things to say. One of the other things I really like about them is that they do such good work regarding the health of dogs and cats in the Jaltemba Bay area. I even adopted one of the dogs and brought him home when I was down there in 2013. They spend a lot of time and money working to improve the lives of the local animals and educate people on proper care and nutrition. The beach in Los Ayala is generally pretty quite during Monday to Friday, but come Saturday and Sunday it is bustling with local families - from grandparents to newborns - spending the day at the beach - good food, music, family fun. It really is wonderful to see, and very colourful with all the vendors and their carts. Another favourite is the animals at Casa Contenta - Coyote is a personal favourite and a darling dog. Samuel and Marisela who live on the property as well are great and always have a smile - makes me remember to start learning Spanish! Lin and Jim include guests in activities if they want to participate, as well as some of the entertaining they do onsite. Have a wonderful time there and it is my all time favourite place to visit.

Another great 2 weeks at Casa Contenta in November.

Another great 2 weeks at Casa Contenta in November. The property just seems to be more lush than before. We stayed in the Playa Suite which has been enhanced by a lovely stone patio. The hospitality that Lin & Jim show their guests is an added bonus , they showed us some great restaurants in the area as well as included us in a dinner party. W always look forward to a stay in the Los Ayala / Jaltemba bay area and the time spent at Casa Contenta. Cheryl & Tony

A fabulous vacation!

My wife and I had an incredible week at Casa Contenta as quests of Linda and Jim. The accommodations were beautiful, the hosts were charming, the view was astounding, the beach was perfect and the swimming was unforgettable! Each day started with a walk up the sands to check out the action as the fishermen prepared their catch of the day and treated a flock of pelicans to the scraps. Lunch at one of the lovely beach restaurants was followed by a swim, a walk through the quaint village, or a tour of some of the nearby local attractions, then more swimming, sunning, or just relaxing to the sound of the waves and the wind in the palms and watching frigate birds soaring in the pure blue sky. Dinner always featured excellent fair, whether in a posh restaurant or "on the street" and wherever we went we felt welcome and safe in Los Ayala, thanks in part to the fact that our host are well respected members of the community. All in all, a perfect vacation that we would repeat in a heartbeat and would confidently recommend to friends and family. Thank you Linda and Jim for introducing us to Casa Contenta and Los Ayala!

Once Again!!

My husband and I have visited Casa Contenta a number of times over that last few years and we love it. Lin and Jim are wonderful hosts, it's always a pleasure seeing them and spending time in their beautiful Casa located right on the lovely Los Ayala beach in Jaltemba Bay. There are many great restaurants in the towns surrounding the Bay, some offer wonderful music and entertainment. Always great fun to spend Thursday mornings at the market in La Penita; in addition to baked goods, fruit and vegetables and meat the square offers Artisan goods made by local Artists as well as those from other States in Mexico.

Wonderful small Mexican beach town

This property was everything it was described to be. Lin and Jim were very friendly and helpful. The beach was almost deserted during the week and filled with Mexican tourists on the weekend. We found some great resturants in La Penita. Just a ten miniute drive. We will return
