Sweetwater Cottage - Waterfront and Pet Friendly! Canoe and kayaks provided!

Come enjoy our Florida lakeside cottage! Private home with private dock and fully fenced yard for the safety of your four legged family members who love to travel. We have a canoe and kayaks for your enjoyment. We also have a small motor for the canoe that you can rent from us for $10 a day. Fish from the back yard and dock. Short drive to downtown Inverness with great local restaurants and eclectic shops, the Withlacoochee trail and numerous outdoor activities are all just minutes away.

Bring your boat! We have a community boat ramp to launch your boat and you can truly explore the 7 chain of lakes and fish all the great spots from the comfort of your own boat then dock for the night at our private dock in the back yard of the cottage. This is a simple good life vacation spot that the entire family will enjoy.

One bedroom, one bathroom cottage with sofa bed in the family room. Coffee table raises up to enjoy family game night. Dining table folds open to seat four at meal times. Charcoal grill on the side patio with table and chairs to enjoy a meal outdoors. Screened patio with table and chairs on the front of the house to be outside with a bit more privacy. Dock has a bistro set for the evening glass of wine while enjoying the sunset over the water.

Property was sparkling clean. Bed was excellent. We had everything we needed. Host was helpful and the area was peacsful and quiet. Fishing was very good and made a couple of friends with three small alligators and turtles. Wish the tv had better selections, but we will still go again.

Cozy waterfront cottage

Nice little house in a quiet neigborhood. The house is well equiped, very dog friendly. Nice, big yard. Easy parking, 10 minutes drive from Inverness.

Cozy waterfront cottage

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend. In Florida to visit family. The place was just what we needed, Cozy, comfortable, and clean. The decor was so cute. Our granddaughter came over and we fished off the dock (Catch and release) and she caught approx 10 fish,she had a blast. Thank you for allowing us to have a wonderful time.

Cute pet friendly cottage in Inverness

Cute little cottage on canal, pet-friendly, fenced in yard, very clean and well stocked. Located in quiet subdivision convenient to Silver Springs, 3 Sisters Springs, Rainbow Springs and Weeki Wachee Springs. Mertailer’s Aquarium is a must-see for excellent fish exhibits and mermaid show. Outside seating area and fire pit were neat and clean. Michele was quick to respond to questions, check-in was easy. Highly recommend Fisherman’s Restaurant which is right down the road for dinner and St Johns Tavern in Crystal Springs for lunch.

Relaxing weekend on canal in Inverness

Place was great & very comfortable. Very clean, comfy bed, everything you could need. Husband fished from the dock. Enjoyed watching the wildlife. Great location & communication. Would definitely stay again.

Birthday get away

Just what we hoped for. Very quiet and peaceful. We caught 6 dirrent species of fish from the back deck. Wish we were still there! Loved it!

Peaceful and enchanting back yard

Although the weather was chilly for Florida. The afternoon sun warms the backyard and the dock was perfect for a couples outdoor dining. The fish were not biting but we counted 18 species of birds! Great getaway. The house is small but plenty of room to spread out and relax in the common area and the decor was spot on. Found a single serve coffee pot under the kitchen counter. Plenty of blankets and towels. The curtains were thin so adding blinds would be a good upgrade. Enjoyed our stay.

We gave it to Stars

To start off it was quiet but if you want isolation away from others this is not for you there are homes all around it. The lake in the back was actually a canal did not catch but two catfish in 5 days that we were there. We drove around to see if there was any other place to go fishing and there was not unless you had a boat. The inside was clean but the cookware is old. They did not have blinds on the windows especially in the bedroom where it's most private the curtains on the windows are the same as the pictures they are thin and at night when the light is on you can see everything inside so there is no privacy at night. So we ended up using a couple of throw blankets to cover the windows in the bedroom which helped especially in the morning when the daylight shines through.We will not be coming back.

Great Stay!

We stayed close to 3 weeks at this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Michelle the owner is absolutely phenomenal to deal with and she made the process very simple and seamless! Now, for the cottage itself.... it looks like an older cottage that has been well kept. The décor is very fitting to the feel at the lake and very inviting. It was comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. If you are looking for a relaxing time sitting on the deck, love fishing or just love the quietness of nature (the sounds of birds, fish jumping out of the water, squirrels, etc), then this is the place for you! Imagine waking up in the morning to the sounds of birds or sipping your coffee on the deck watching the turtles come up for air and hear the fish jumping! Ahhhhh I already miss it! We are avid kayakers and loved that the kayaks were added to this cottage, that was one of our favorite features and we used them quite a bit but not necessarily at that lake itself! We did go around the cottage but for the best kayaking, Michelle will offer suggestions to some of the most beautiful places in Florida! Silver lake and Crystal River are simply amazing places! Inverness itself is also very cute, we loved walking around Cooters Pond to look at the birds, turtles, rabbits and the alligators! It's also the hub and the center to the Withlacoochee State Trail if you like biking which we did quite a bit of! The only reason I rated the location and neighborhood as a 4 is simply because there are quite a few of what looks as abandoned places around. We did talk to someone who told us that many snow birds stay around that location and just don't keep up their properties and sometimes they end up abandoning them. Having said that, we always felt very safe, and the neighbors were all very quiet! Oufff, was it ever quiet at the cottage, ahhhh the peace!!!! The birds definitely made more noise than the neighbors, lol. At the end, we made amazing memories and hope to be able to do it again !!!

Cute little place, had everything we needed. Little firepit, private dock with canoes and fishing poles. We really enjoyed the direct water access to the small lake. There were some ground hornets while launching the boat which we informed owner of so they can address that. Owner was very responsive to questions. I was a little nervous about the neighborhood driving in but nobody bothered us. The entire property was fenced so my pup could enjoy the yard with privacy fence on the 2 sides. It’s been 10 days since we left so I called about my refundable deposit which I hadn’t received back and VRBO said they would process it since owner has confirmed no damage. Overall we would stay again.

Birthday getaway

My husband and I and our dog Max spent 3 nights at this very cute little cottage. The house was spotless and had everything you could imagine that you might need. The dock outside was perfect, we spent a lot of time there with our morning coffee and evening cocktails. We ordered pizza delivery from Angelo's pizza which was awesome. We had a very relaxing little get away. The only possible thing missing would be a blender to mix up some frozen drinks!

Minimalistic cottage in a great location

A simple cottage with all the basic necessities to make your stay comfortable. Located in a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The yard and the dock out back made the place extra enjoyable. Turtles, small gators, fish and all sorts of birds were on hand to welcome us. Michelle was very accessible. Internet access was outstanding. Thanks for a nice stay.

Little home away from home

Very nice little place! Very clean, well set up for pet or no pet . Easy to keep up. Owner very kind, pleasant, and easy to communicate with. Comfortable bed, beautiful property, nice neighborhood and quick enough access to interstate or downtown Inverness. Would stay at this property again!
