The guest enjoyed their stay last year enough to book again. Our new professional oven was used during their stay last year. They actually had a choice of two new ovens in our kitchen. Since the guest had stayed at the house the prior year as a courtesy, we informed her of the new instant hot water heater that had been installed and how it operated differently by regulating pressure based on usage so hot water would never run out. Apparently, this message was misunderstood. The guest again this year refused to recycle any trash and was unhappy that we are limited to three oversized trash cans as per our trash service. No change here from the prior year. Upon informing us of the cable box failure, we immediately called the cable company who decided to ship a replacement next day however the guest refused to allow our caretaker entry to set up the box. Finally, we charged the guest’s deposit since they deliberately broke the lease by using our motor and sailboats after they had been informed verbally and in writing they were unavailable as per our lease. The deposit was returned within 10 days but didn’t reach the guest since we were not informed that they had moved from the contract address. We strive to provide a home that exceeds expectations. Unfortunately, some expectations cannot be met.
