We had the most amazing stay at Encantada. From the moment we booked the stay, communication began between us and Marty & Nita. They provided additional info regarding our stay, as well as an exceptionally useful guide to the area and Costa Rica as a whole.When we arrived, we arrived to a beautifully designed home and B&B, with snacks/drinks waiting in our room for us, an offer to have our laundry done, and all remaining information for our stay explained by their home’s caretaker, Michael.We felt especially welcomed by their pups Mia, Angel, and Beau (and one of the cats, Neo warmed up to us over the course of our stay!)The rooms were cozy and secure, and the location is close enough to La Fortuna that we didnt feel isolated (though we enjoyed spending much time relaxing at the property).We had a wonderful time and would recommend to any staying in the area!

Incredible area, so much wildlife and so many beautiful birds. The food was incredible and the hosts are super helpful navigating in and around. This was a highlight of our Costa Rica trip! Definitely recommend and we will be returning.

Encantada was everything we were looking for when we came to Costa Rica! We loved sitting on the expansive deck listening to the monkeys, exotic birds, and especially the rain! Visiting during the rainy season gave us a 1st hand rain forest experience! The location was very close to zip lining, hanging bridges, and if we wanted to, several hot springs were right down the road. Marty and Nita were very gracious and helpful with sharing their knowledge of the area. And the breakfasts couldn’t be beat! So delicious, home cooked, and many choices- not at all like the continental breakfast often served at hotels. The property is beautiful and we loved the gardens too. Highly recommend this unique accommodation!

What a beautiful, cozy and well appointed space. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable, we were close to all the activities but had privacy and quiet. There are some absolutely amazing restaurants close by. We will stay again if we are ever in the area!

Totally would recommend this place to stay while you are in Costa Rica! Marty and Nita were great host and make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing trip! So much to do and see at their property and surrounding areas!

Our stay at Encantada Arenal was exceptional. From daily breakfast to the carefully designed accommodations, Nita and Marty have created a luxurious and memorable establishment that is just perfection. The property is absolutely gorgeous and a destination in itself. We absolutely will stay here again when we return to Costa Rica.

We absolutely loved being immersed in the jungle, surrounded by nature! Nita and Marty have truly built a little paradise here. Incredibly responsive to communication and very helpful. Breakfasts were easily customizable and tasty. Room was clean and hosts made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend their B&B. The road to the property is a bit challenging, so I would suggest driving to it at least the first time in the daylight.

Marty and Nita were fabulous hosts and made sure we were very comfortable. Their property is breathtaking and it’s great to be able to be guided on must do activities. They served a great breakfast everyday as part of our stay and they had several adorable dogs around to pet and gush over. Very close by is a convenience store and a good restaurant. This was an excellent home base for us and we are glad we stayed there. They have a great masseuse on call which I highly recommend and the view from the hot tub is amazing.

Everything about our experience exceeded expectations. The hosts and staff were gracious and communication was great. The facilities were as described--beautiful and magical. Attention to every detail was evident and any possible need of guests was addressed. Breakfast was delicious, made to order, and timely every day. The grounds were peaceful with abundant wildlife. We would have loved to have more time in the area. Would definitely stay again!

Marty and Nita were a great resource of information. All the necessities required were provided. The breakfast was a great and delicious way to start your adventure. We enjoyed a relaxing massage accompanied by bird songs.

Perfect getaway

My wife and I stayed here for three nights and they were excellent. The hard work and fantastic customer service of the staff shines and elevated the entire experience. Take advantage of the delicious homemade breakfast that is included!!!

Beautiful Location

We had a lovely time during our stay - Marty and Nita and wonderful hosts, excellent communication and guidance. We took advantage of the luxurious massage (a must do) and chefs dinner. The views are amazing. A wonderful stop during our first time in Costa Rica!

Wonderful place!

This place is gorgeous! Very secluded and quiet too. Breakfast was cooked to order every day. We would definately recommend it.It is a bit of a drive into town (La Fortuna), so a rental car would be a good idea.

Peaceful and Relaxing Stay

Nita and Marty have an amazing property. From the well appointed room to the pristine pool and grounds, their attention to detail is unparalleled. Close to El Castillo attractions and a short drive to La Fortuna it's a perfect romantic location to enjoy the Pura Vida spirit of Costa Rica. We would love to come back.

We were very excited to stay here for the start of our trip! We wouldn't usually stay somewhere as expensive but read the reviews and photos and decided to splurge! We were really looking forward to meeting/having Marty & Nita as hosts due to how great of reviews they got. It was also important to us to stay somewhere with English speaking hosts as we do not speak Spanish and wanted to be able to communicate smoothly and get recommendations! Unfortunately, Marty & Nita were not there during our trip. Their staff were all very kind but we were not able to communicate with anyone, which was difficult at times. The breakfast was great, property was well taken care of, and we loved spending time with the dogs! We were also expecting the property to be more private as it is only two rooms but there was very limited privacy with workers staying there as well. Overall, we had a great experience!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry if you felt communication was difficult. We did our best under the difficult circumstances of us traveling and 2 with staff with medical emergencies. As a side note.. Only our manager stays there full time, when we are away. All other workers leave by 3 pm and guests are usually gone during the day when the gardeners are working. We do sincerely apologize if you felt your privacy was impacted somehow.

Beautiful Oasis

This was truly and amazing place to stay! It is more of an oasis than a B&B. The room, property, expansive views, gardens and location were absolutely fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the 5 days we stayed there. The owners are absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to add a personal touch. Amazing homemade breakfast (included) on the veranda was a great start to each day. Highly recommended!!

Amazing property with beautiful views and wonderful hosts.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights celebrating his 50th birthday. The property is absolutely gorgeous and unique. The hosts Nita and Marty and so warm and welcoming. Everyday was started with a delicious breakfast overlooking their beautiful gardens and volcano views when the clouds cooperated. We did a wide variety of activities in the area from hiking to soaking in the hot springs. Best part of our Costa Rica trip by far.

Super hosts

We very much enjoyed our 4 nights at Encantada. Marty and Nita were very accommodating, we had interesting conversations as they joined us at breakfast each morning. The food was delicious and the presentation exceptional. The home design, decor and landscaping well done.They offered ideas for nearby activities and restaurants. Would definitely stay with them again if returning to the La Fortuna area.
