Take pleasure in the comforts of this newly renovated large studio apartment located in the Historic town of Ferndale, CA. The city, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a must visit for anyone interested in history, wildlife, art, surfing, or pure splendor and relaxation.

Wake up every morning and walk out on to the spacious upper level deck with a breathtaking view of beautiful pastures full of grandeur, mountains, and the Ocean in the distance.

A short two block walk takes you to Ferndaleā€™s beautiful Victorian Main Street. There you will enjoy the amazingly preserved Victorian buildings, many wonderful specialty shops, or maybe, take a boat tour of the Eel River Delta and there's always Ferndaleā€™s very on Repertory Theatre. At night, dine at the luxurious, historic Ivanhoe or Curleyā€™s.

Ferndale is just five miles away from the beautiful Pacific Ocean. If you enjoy hiking, Russ Park has over 100 acres with more than 3 miles of hiking trails.

We totally enjoyed our 3 day stay at Peaceful View, coupled with our visit with family in Ferndale.Our host Stuart communicated with us from the start, was present upon arrival, provided brief information about the property and Ferndale. An annual event (Bargain Lovers Weekend) was in progress, which allowed us to meet many neighbors and shop the area. Our vacation rental exceeded our expectations. I really enjoyed my time here and Stuart was an excellent host. The hot tub area was private, very cute, and a fun bonus to an already great place to stay. Location couldn't really be better, only a short walk to the main street. I'd love to return next time I'm in the area.

GREAT location, WONDERFUL host (Stuart), loved the local vibe!!! IMO the property was quite spacious and the private hot tub was an added bonus. Yes, the property is next door to Stuart, but privacy was never an issue. Stuart provided a wealth of information re the property, neighborhood, restaurants, attractions and for Memorial Day weekend, Ferndale featured the Kinetic Grand Championship - FUN and crazy people with their theme-oriented, creative power-sculptures that raced down onto Main Street!

Amazing place to stay!!

Very cute apartment. I was impressed with how clean it was. Lots of great amenities like plush bathrobes, full kitchen and a hot tub. Stuart was super friendly and helpful. Close to Main street but also private. I would highly recommend this place.

Birthday retreat

This was the most relaxing and "forget your troubles" vacation I've had in a long time. This studio was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The jacuzzi was clean and a great way to relax after sight seeing and hiking the beautiful trails in the majestic redwoods. Best of all was Stuart, our host. He made sure everything was up to snuff and was available when we had questions. Top notch!

Barn-swallow in the chimney.

We helped a barn swallow that got stuck in the chimney make its escape. It was one happy bird when it flew out.Stuart Altschuler was a most gracious host.We had a wonderful time.

Enjoy historic Ferndale from this great studio apartment.

Just a short walk away from downtown Ferndale, this neat, clean, quiet, well-equipped apartment (good wifi speed as well) is a great place for a vacation or (as we did) for remote work. Strongly recommend. Hope to visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Stuart was an excellent host and had strong communication throughout the entire process! We loved Stuart's little guest space- it had everything we needed, and the location cannot be beat! The bed was comfy and everything was very clean! Nice stay in beautiful Ferndale

This is a well kept property just a short walk from Main Street in Ferndale. It is attached to a house, but it has a private feel. The hot tub is in a nice private fenced in area. The kitchen is well stocked. There is a large deck with a nice view. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Amazing Stay!

I needed a place to stay for a few days while moving my daughter from her dorm in Arcata. This was an ideal location. It was a very easy drive to shopping in Fortuna and Eureka. Two blocks to Ferndale downtown which was super cute! I would suggest the restaurant Tuyas, excellent Mexican food. Some huge pluses staying at this place were: fully stocked kitchen, blow up mattress, easy access parking on site, quiet neighborhood, outside deck seating, shower water pressure was intense, and an Amazing hot tub! I would definitely stay again!

Lovely central Ferndale studio

We were a family group of 4 adults, thinking we were staying in a 1-BR apt. The apartment is more properly characterized as a STUDIO. Very nice, clean, and functional. A short walk to main street, a welcoming, polite, and helpful host, but very cozy for 4 adults. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay!

Ferndale May 27-29

The property was as advertised and very cozy and comfortable. It is the ideal size for a couple and situated at the back and away from the main home. It was within walking distance to the historic town of Ferndale and its charming downtown with many Victorian houses. We also visited Humboldt Redwood State Park and the Avenue of the Giants to look at the majestic redwoods. Do not miss going on Mattole road to the Lost Coast for some breathtaking views of the Pacific Coast. Be prepared for some fog and cool days but this is quite normal for this time of the year. One issue with the property is that there is no exhaust fan on top of the range so we had to keep the doors and windows open so as to not trigger the smoke alarms. The hot tub was well maintained and easy to use and we enjoyed it very much after a long day on the road. We would definitely love to visit again and stay the property.

I am ā€œbig cityā€ born and raised. I grew up in New York City and, after graduate school, lived 11 years in West Palm Beach, Florida before moving to Los Angeles in 1986. I realized that 21 years in LA was more than enough when I first set foot in Ferndale in October, 2006. One day was all I needed to realize that Ferndale was my new home! I put an offer on a fixer up-er, went back to LA, put my house on the market and told clients and friends that I was gone as soon as the house sold. I was living in Ferndale by the following Memorial Day, May 2007. I restored the 1896 Victorian. I settled into a small town routine and became a part of a new small town ā€œfamilyā€ as if this has been ā€œhomeā€ all my life. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA License #MFC22030). I found a great job at the local community college, College of the Redwoods, where I do crisis intervention counseling, and started a private practice in Ferndale. I love it here and I know you will enjoy your stay in Ferndale. I am here to help make your visit in Ferndale a pleasant one, and I hope you enjoy your stay at Peaceful View Vacation Rental.
