Amazing Lakefront Property

Affectionally referred to as The Lake House, this is a beautiful waterfront property with a large deck overlooking the lake and positioned on a private lot on route 147/Baileyville Road in Middlefield. The house has water views from most of the rooms with a great kitchen, dinning area, living room, office on the first floor. The 2nd floor has three bedrooms, two baths and a laundry room. The master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the lake and the bathroom has a jacuzzi/whirlpool tub.
A large deck offers a panoramic view of the lake. The lower level has the 4th bedroom, kitchenette and full bath. There is a beach and dock on the property which is shared with neighboring cottages.

Perfect weekend with long-time friends.

The house is spacious and comfortable and the view of the lake especially during sunset is stunning. Swimming off the dock with good friends made for the perfect August summer weekend.

Absolutely beautiful house! Super clean! Superb setting! Very comfortable! Amazing view! Many amenities! Host very responsive and kind! The property manager quickly responded to our needs. My family and friends loved the spectacular experience and would definitely comeback!

Our son's wedding weekend

We stayed here for my son's wedding, which was about 10 minutes from the house. The home was beautiful! Very clean, with a great view of the lake. All the bedrooms were good size rooms. The owner made everything so easy, from check-in to little extras in the kitchen that you didn't need to pack. We wish we stayed longer.

Nice house, poor host

Nice house, except for damp basement, which is not unusual. However, I had real issues with host. We were charged extra for inside smoking, which we did not do. Without personally checking further, the host acted from an unsubstantiated note from next tenants. Would have taken responsibility if we had done this.

It Is Amazing

The house is everything that is shown on this site. Spacious, Very clean and tidy with nice furniture. The deck is large with a great view of the lake. We spent most of our time from morning coffee to dinner to evening cocktails on the deck enjoying the beautiful property and views. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Great Lake side Vrbo

This property was on a beautiful lake. Very peaceful to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening! Total chill time. The house had 4 bedrooms 2 of which were large master BR and the other a suite with small kitchenette in the basement. Beds were all very comfortable. We had a few questions for the host and he communicated within an hour solving the problems. Very impressive. Would highly recommend the place.

Lakefront Property Reprise.

This was my second go round staying at this property. My family and I enjoyed it the first time. More so the second time with the upgrades. Being familiar with the area was a great help. Would absolutely love to stay here again

The descending stairs from the kitchen/dining level were an issue. Ascending same stairs are not a problem because the risers are painted white. The lip of the stairs need to show some kind of contrast so they don’t appear to be on same plane as the level below. Overall all our needs were met. The kitchen was well stocked and the hub of our stay since we did alot of holiday cooking.

What I had liked about the property was the location of the house by the lake, the deck, and the back of the house having glass from floor to ceiling so you get a beautiful view of the lake and trees from the inside. My only issue I had was that there was only one TV. Something to consider for families with kids.

Family gathering

Home is beautifully set on a nice size lake. Owner responded to all questions quickly. We had planned to take some side trips but the lake and the weather were very cooperative so we spent all our time there at the beach or in the water. Had to make a few runs to Target and grocery store but they were a reasonable distance away. Planned to take the rowboat out but kids caught 3 catfish form the dock in the evening so we did not venture out in the boat in search of pike and bass. If we had another day we might have done so.We will book this place again.

Big Family Lake Fun!

The Lake House was AMAZING! With its 5 great size bedrooms ( privacy for everyone) . 3 full baths, with plenty of hot water, for the many showers after a day in the lake The 1/2 bath on first floor was a nice bonus to have with such a large crowd! The large, fully stocked kitchen, with its large island and even larger peninsula (plus a view of the lake) made preparing, cooking and serving meals most enjoyable! We appreciated the cleanliness of all rooms especially the kitchen and bathrooms as well as the fresh, sanitized, sheets and towels. The laundry room was another must have and didn’t disappoint! The views of the lake both inside and out were unobstructed by trees while still providing plenty of shade to escape the heat. The expansive deck was a great spot to relax, play games, and enjoy alfresco dining! It was nice to be able to grill and still be with everyone. The large, well manicured lawn was great for playing lawn games and leaving our kayaks at the ready for spontaneous trips around the lake!! The large dock with steps, made for easy access getting into the lake and for fishing Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us! Gene and Donnamarie

Anniversary Trip

We wanted to take some time to think before we wrote a review. We had a wonderful time but felt we needed to be honest to help future renters and the homeowner. The cleanliness of the home was not the best. In the welcome booklet it was stated no food upstairs since they like the white linens which is totally fine! Yet there were stains on the white sheets in the master bedroom (Upon telling the contact person they did come and change them). The mattress in the master bedroom has a protective cover on it which is understandable. Yet we felt it should have had a mattress pad over that because it felt and sounded like we were sleeping on a potato chip bag. (The mattress pad can be taken off and washed between renters) There was open leftover food in the freezer that you could tell had been there a while. When people are coming to the home they are bringing food and are expecting space to put it in There was dried food stuck on the ceiling above the stove. There was dirt and debris underneath the baseboard heater. We noticed this in the kitchen. We didn’t inspect the rest of the baseboards. The deck on the house is big and very usable yet it def needed TLC. Needed to be cleaned up. (swept off between renters) The outdoors needed TLC. everything needed pruning. It was very overgrown. We had one more thing that bothered us. We came back from an outing to find a car in the driveway and met a man who said said he went in the house to drop off some paper products. We felt that was held improperly. We should have been informed that he was stopping by. (Leave items on the porch in a bag). He just went in the house without us knowing. Which seems inappropriate and an invasion of privacy for multiple reasons. We expected when spending this kind of money for a rental that these things should not have been an issue. I

Great Lake location

Fantastic home. Beautiful views. Large deck was great for a family birthday party. At least half of the deck was shady all day. Plenty of deck furniture. We did encounter a lot of bees on the deck. Lots of kitchen counter space. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The parking was great for many cars for our party. Owner was flexible for our needs. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and 2 very large full size bathrooms upstairs. The master bedroom view of the lake was amazing. The plastic covering on the mattresses made for disruptive sleep when you or your partner move. The lake was not too busy with motorized boats so we were able to hang out on floats every day.

Great place!

This is a lovely property and we enjoyed our stay. The views are beautiful. I was hoping there would be kayak rental on the lake, but there was not. This location is close enough to take day trips to Long Island Sound. I highly recommend!

Beautiful Lakeside Retreat

Beautiful and functional!

The lake house was beautiful with lovely even in winter and very warm and comfortable. Very close to a number of great restaurants and the lodge so great location. Large two person jacuzzi tub which is a great place to relax. Perfect for a couple or family to be comfortable in. The kitchen was also well equipped for cooking and baking which was a great plus. Definitely coming back!
