Our family had a great time! The house was very comfortable for our family of five plus dog. The chain of lakes were great for fishing and boating. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and look forward to returning at some point.

Excellent stay. Property inside and out was fabulous! If renting this year, 2025, there is a paper wasp nest near the log pile near the parking area. It is in a tree. Enjoy watching, from a distance! Beautiful area with lots of outdoor activities available to do. Thanks for making this place available to rent!!!

Wonderful, relaxing getaway

The cabin is very comfy, clean and well equipped. We had fun boating, fishing and relaxing on the deck.

Relaxing stay

Nice, comfortable place. Good location on the lake. Appreciated the canoe, paddles and life jackets, as well as being able to bring our dog. Close to some great biking and hiking trails. We ended up booking really last minute and appreciated the quick turn around. hiking trails.

Excellent stay

Great place. Clean, comfortable beds, enough room and well stocked. We didn’t cook but could have. Gorgeous views and lake location close to Winman which is why we were there. Nice fireplace with wood provided and a great deck with chairs and table though too busy biking to enjoy. I will stay here again easily!

Great Stay

Our family stayed on the property for a few days and really enjoyed it. Our only concern going in was the distance from the water and it was much closer than we anticipated, which was great. Owner was very helpful and response and I would definitely recommend this listing!

South turtle retreat

We loved our time at South Turtle. There was an early review that said this house was better than the pictures, and I agree. We will definitely look into renting this house again next year. Thank you!

Good week up north

We had a good stay. The property was updated and clean. The lake is great and the kids had a lot of fun. We had a small issue getting into the place when we first arrived, but the manager was responsive and helpful. Overall a really good setup.

Relaxing get away

Overall, we had a very nice relaxing week away at this cottage! The accommodations are very clean and very nice, the only drawback was the steep walk down to the lake. I would think for future reference the owner could install some type of stairs to make getting to the lake easier for everyone.

Opening fishing weekend

Property was comfortable for our group. The deck was nice for relaxing in the afternoon. The bank to the lake was a little steep for some older folks. Dock was very nice for securing our boats. Nice private location. Our host Brian was quick to answer any questions. Would rent again.

Peace, quiet and beauty

What a lovely experience from the secluded location to the stunning views to the pristine quiet lake. Access to all amenities within the community including grocery store, coffee shop , restaurant, bars etc. went biking along the shore line . And kayaking in the lake. House is very comfortable for 4 people and a pet. I would book again. People in the community are quite nice and accommodating.

Great location in northern WI

The property was on South Turtle Lake so we could enjoy paddle board. Also near the Vilas County paved bike trails which are amazing. Great location to several towns for different places to eat and coffee shops! We really enjoyed the deck and open concept of the retreat! As another reviewer mentioned deck is great for hanging out with your dogs. We took along a plastic ex pen to put at the open end of the deck to close it off fully. This was our first and will be back - thanks.

Relaxing dog and toddler friendly, scenic home base for the Porcupine Mountains

Brian responded very promptly. The house is clean and well/minimally decorated, perfect for toddlers and dogs. The view is calming and the deck keeps toddlers and dogs safe and contained. The lake was calm and perfect for paddle boarding and this is probably the nicest area closest (an hours drive) to the Porcupine Mountains State Park that allows dogs. I loved how there was a cute dog bowl and mat for our dog to eat from; it was a welcoming touch that set the tone for our stay. Manitowish Waters is 5 minutes drive and offers a cute coffee shop on the lake, and a great place to eat outside by the dock of the lake with live music, burgers and chips.

Nice, clean cabin on a private lot with great South Turtle lake loacation

We really enjoyed our family get away to this cabin on South Turtle lake. The cabin was very clean and on a nice private lot on South Turtle lake. Rented canoes one day from Rivers Edge which is only about 10-15 minutes away. Drove up to Lake of the Clouds (a little more than an hour away) and enjoyed the beautiful Porcupine Mountains. The Grannery is a great little breakfast place in Boulder Junction. Brian was really responsive and helpful and everything is great. Note that the TV is a smart TV (vs traditional cable/satellite), but was not used much by us anyway. Would recommend bringing a couple of extra chairs for sitting by the campfire! Overall a great place and would definitely recommend.

Private home with Great Lake views

We enjoyed a nice stay over a long weekend at the end of April. Although the lake was still frozen, most of the snow had already melted. My husband was still able to do some ice fishing and the ice was about 16 inches deep! The home was very clean and perfect for my family's stay -- in addition to being very welcoming of dogs. Although we didn't cook much, the kitchen appeared very well equipped with all of the pots, pans, cooking utensils and spices you would need. The beds were very comfortable with memory foam mattresses. The home was located in a private area and views of the lake from the great room were wonderful! We would definitely enjoy staying here again...hopefully in the warmer months when we could enjoy sitting out on the deck enjoying the water views. Thank you Brian for the great accommodations!

Very comfortable home

This is a very comfortable and well equipped home. Very well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Lots of extras in kitchen, nice pots and pans, etc. Nicer in person than pictures. Nice and deep off the end of the dock, very easy to park a pontoon. Brian was great with communication. My son caught a small musky off the dock and which was fun! As an FYI the boat launch on the lake isn’t great. Doable but gets deep quick. Anglers is a GREAT restaurant. For laundry we went to Eagle River but there are closer laundromats. Also it’s drip coffee maker not a Keurig (past review mentions a Keurig)

Peaceful getaway

Went for a long weekend with my husband. It was a little too much house for us bedroom-wise, but we loved the large open kitchen and family room. The kitchen was well-stocked for our grilling and stove top needs. Had to go buy solo cups because there were only glass ones and we didn’t want to bring glass down to the dock. We used the canoe to fish, and swam off the dock. We brought our own folding chairs to watch the most beautiful sunsets. We loved the privacy of the property, and the comfort of the beds and pillows. For being a property that allows dogs, we saw very little dog hair - only on the blankets in the closet! Kudos to the cleaning crew! There is no washer and dryer access. The rainstorm that drenched us on our bike ride did not keep us wet, thankfully, as the sun dried our clothing and shoes. Thank you for an overall excellent stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful waterfront cabin rental

Brian was a great host. The property was clean, everything was as listed/pictured, and he was very responsive. The property is in a great location and offers a lot of privacy. Google maps had a hard time locating the exact address but Brian's directions made it easy to find. We did some fishing from the dock and caught a couple small walleye. The dogs loved the big yard and walks down the long wooded driveway. The kitchen was well stocked to cook meals and the charcoal grills are in great condition. We didn't particularly like the tap water but we brought bottled water just in case. As is typical for summers in the midwest, the gnats, mosquitos, and ticks were out so bug spray is a must. There is great seating inside and on the patio. Seating is limited around the outdoor fire pit so bring some chairs if you want to sit around it. The couches and beds are very comfortable. The wi-fi works well and there's a nice smart TV to connect to your streaming apps. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this place.
