Hatch Life in Steinhatchee Landing

Hatch Life 204- this lovely 3 story cottage has lots of upgrades like wood floors throughout the downstairs, granite countertops, a fully equipped kitchen that opens to the living and dining areas that is perfect for large gatherings and entertaining. There is an electric double reclining sofa, an electric double reclining loveseat and an electric recliner in the living room. The house has 2 master suites and comfortably sleeps 14 with plenty of room for a couple of blow up mattresses. The downstairs master bedroom has a king sized bed with a private balcony while the upstairs master bedroom has a queen size bed along with a private balcony. There is a queen and a full bed in the third bedroom with another balcony. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds. There are 2 full bunk beds in the loft area along with a couch. The additional lot next door is a large courtyard garden with a picnic table, grill area, and hammock that goes with the house. The lot could easily accommodate a small wedding. The house is just a short walk to the river and is located between the playground and a 55ft community pool and across from the boat/trailer overflow lot (typically plenty of parking). You can enjoy all the community amenities. You can sit on your front porch and watch your children at the playground(35 feet away), also included are things such as the petting zoo, for the boaters -first come first serve boat docking complete with electric and water even a fish and scallop cleaning station, adults only sauna & hot tub, volleyball court, tennis court, ping pong, shuffleboard, game room & archery range. The wedding chapel and conference center are available for rent from the landing along with canoes, kayaks, bikes, archery and shuffleboard equipment. We do not provide Wi-Fi.
The community is also golf cart friendly. We have cornhole boards and bags underneath house, so get your game on. We also have a bait freezer below the house for your catch, bait and ice. The four seater gas golf cart is available at an additional $65 a day. Steinhatchee is known for its scalloping during the summer months (please make your reservation early to guarantee your spot) scallop season is typically open June 15th through September 1st. Fishing is fantastic year round whether you are chasing grouper, snapper, redfish or trout.

Great getaway spot!

Great location to everything, property very spacious. Right next door to amenities, large pool and hot tub. A few things could use a handymanā€™s touch, but overall great place to stay and we would definitely stay again.

Annual Family Scalloping trip

The weather didnā€™t cooperate for scalloping but glad to have the pool, playground, weight room and pickleball court, so we had other things to do. House was roomy and comfortable.

The weather was cold and rainy but we had a great time. The house is located in a perfect location. A short golf cart ride to everything youā€™d want to do. Super easy check in and out process. Fantastic communication before, during and after our stay. Looking forward to next yearā€™s festival

We love the layout. Nice laundry. The outside and porches need cleaned and painted. Master bedroom downstairs needed closet cleaned out and new mattress on bed. We never found the remote for the master tv. The gas grill was too dirty to use. Shampoo and soap rack in master shower was rusted. The master shower was huge, but didnā€™t have but a small shower head with no pressure. The air in the master bedroom wasnā€™t cooling. Would have seemed cleaner with hardwood instead of carpet upstairs. The living area was nice. Windows need better treatments. This is a great house with some TLC. We stay at the landing often and this was just not quite the quality of anywhere else we have stayed. I believe the owners appear to be working on improving it and they were very easy to contact.

Great location

This was a great location and the lay out of the house was great for our group! The negative which is a big one for us was that it was not very clean! The place seemed to have been cleaned in a rush and things were left undone. There were used razors left in the shower. It looked as if none of the furniture had been moved to clean under it in awhile. I would like to see WiFi offered here also.

Another Year of Memory making Adventures

This property is great, especially if you have small children. It is directly across from the playground, just around the corner from the pool, and not a long walk to the docks. The house was very clean, keeping the AC on 72 was not bad, the house stayed cool, plenty of cooking utensils, beds were comfortable, great washer and dryer. Only downsides were no internet (gasps), no racks in the freezer and shower head needs to be replaced in master BR downstairs (many holes clogged). The owner was very helpful, responded to any questions we had, and was very nice. We hope to be able to rent the same place in July 2025. Another year of great memories made! House needs some TLC

Start with good, house was fairly cheap compared to others this size and check out was 11am which was good. Not much else after that. House condition is not what we have expected from Stienhatchee Landing. House desperately needs a pressure washing and a fresh coat of paint. Yard is overgrown. Outside stairs are in poor shape and need repair. Inside kitchen wasnā€™t very clean. There was laundry in the dryer. Multiple lights were out, several doors wouldnā€™t close. Toilets continually ran, sinks and shower were slow to drain (had to unclog the shower drain). Large crack running down the living room wall. No Wi-Fi.Lastly most blinds on the windows are just cheap paper taped to the windows that blocked out zero light. We have been renting in Stienhatchee landing for over ten years now Ann this was the first time we were disappointed in the state of the house. This would be a great house with a little upkeep.

House of Hazards

Filthy horrible house. Bugs under beds, (dried bugs by bed looked like bed bugs) roaches, water bottles under beds, dirty socks under bed, sink dirty and stained, kitchen dirty, oven so dirty could never be used, furniture worn and dirty, bed appeared to have been slept in and beds dirty, bathrooms dirty, nasty rugs and linens. "Paper" curtains on windows torn and clipped together! (never saw that before!!)Outside was in bad shape, stairs rotted, yard high and weeds, holes in ceiling on outside porch. Needless to say we left after looking at this house of horrors! Our family were all meeting there to spend after Christmas holiday together, unfortunately, didn't happen in that house. My entire family of 9 were freaked out! Some sat in the car while we walked through didn't want to go back into the house! There was absolutely no way we could have stayed in that mess. The host had a million excuses none of which were our concern. I would hope this doesn't happen to someone else. This house needs to be completely redone, inside and out and CLEANED before ever being rented again! Can't believe anyone would stay in this house!

Worst experience -horrible host /family trip ruined

Our family booked property 2406316 204 Virginia Avenue Steinhatchee, Florida 32359 For a family trip planned since May for 9/23-9/26/2022 The property did not have working air conditioning and when we reached out the the host, her response was she would ā€œtryā€ and call someone but didnā€™t think anyone could come assist until Monday Sept 26 ( the day of our check out!) she then stated ā€œif you put ac below 70 it will freeze upā€ clearly admitting she knew the ac was not working properly prior to our arrival. We had elderly parents and young children in our party and the home was 85 degrees. My parents and adult sister had to leave at 9pm Saturday after being on boat all day and drive over 4 hours back home due to home not having air conditioning as listed. My family which included two small children had to repack everything in the horrible heatbox and leave at 10pm to drive back home because we could not stay in such horrible conditions. The sad part is the host didnā€™t even apologize for the inconvenience or offer a solution. She simply couldnā€™t be bothered and she had the audacity to ask if the bottom floor ac worked when she knew it did not based on the fans she had downstairs. To think 7 adults and 2 children should stay in a house without working air conditioning after collecting our money is criminal. Not only was our family trip ruined and our poor parents had to drive so far at night but our kids were devastated their trip was cut short. Additionally, We lost money on our boat rental because we had to leave and had no other accommodations. She wouldnā€™t even respond to me after I sent a message letting her know we were checking out and requested our refund. I have never had such poor customer service and horrible experience in my life. This host should not be in this business. I am sad this was the family vacation memory my children will have.

Great house for large group

We enjoyed this house and this neighborhood! We had 4 families stay here and it was very nice and comfortable and a lot to do in the neighborhood and we took advantage of the docks in the neighborhood for our rental boats. The golf cart was great to easily haul coolers and other things from the house to the dock. We would definitely stay here again. Itā€™s also located next to the pool and spa and that was great as well.

The Hatch. Headquarters for family fishing.

Cousins, brothers and nephews and uncles. The boys got together for a weekend of fishing and fun. The house made our stay very easy and comfortable. Canā€™t wait for a return visit.
