Three couples sharing one residence. The three en suite BRs fit everyone's needs. The private pool and yard were used considerably. Very comfortable floorplan for our group.

A very unique house

This was very unique, nice, and clean property. The pool was nice and warm enough to swim and the hot tub was good and hot. The fish pond was full of beautiful fish. Nice view from the second story too.

Koi Fish Pond Home

When you arrive you are greeted by a spectacular Koi fish pond that has the most beautiful fish in it. Itā€™s a fantastic home and we enjoyed it.

Family Vacation

A wonderful and comfortable home for our family vacation. Grandma, Grandpa, two daughters one son in law and two Granddaughters. Plenty of room for all, well furnished, and the pool and view were great. One of the nicest vacation homes we've rented. We'll be back next year.

Nice property

Beautiful property in great location. Maintenance issues included master bath water heater not working, dirty towels left behind, hot tub barely warm.

On behalf of the entire team at Kona Coast Vacations, we thank you for sharing your recent visit to the Big Island. We apologize for the dirty towels, this is no excuse but our cleaner didn't realize the laundry basket was used she assumed it was just decorative, moving forward she is aware to check this basket between guests. I see that our maintenance team resolved the hot water issue that same day, there was an unknown leak in one of the propane valves but a plumber was dispatched and the faulty valve was repaired. It has been a pleasure to have you as our guest. We hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to serve you in the future and deliver you a problem free stay.

Beautiful and Clean House

We had a lovely stay at this house. Itā€™s an easy walk to the beach, but my kids preferred the pool. The house was clean and well appointed. I hadnā€™t realized how accessible the koi ponds were from the house and we had to keep an extra close watch on the toddler, but we mostly kept the doors closed (helped to keep the baby and AC inside!)

Great experience and great property

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very comfortable and we loved the proximity to the beach (it really is a very short walk) as well as the short drive to the golf clubhouse. It was nice to walk over to the hotel along the coastline for lunch too (maybe another ~15 minutes walking). The koi ponds are dramatic, and obviously not childproof, but we were mindful of keeping all the doors closed. The media room was an unexpected surprise to keep us entertained in the evenings.

Spacious and gorgeous place

We brought our adult kids and their 2 children with us for a week here and just loved it! Having our own pool was the BEST. Everyone had plenty of room and the kitchen and laundry were perfect for us. Not necessarily great for kids who crawl as the slate floors are a bit scratchy. There is carpeting in the theater room which turned into a playroom for us. But great for kids 3 and above. Property management very accommodating when we had an issue with the hot water. I would highly recommend this place if you have a or are traveling with 2 other couples.

Honest Review

We had an apparent rodent problem. We found the laundry room had evidence of rodent feces in a laundry basket and behind the washer and dryer. The area behind the washer and dryer was filthy and should be cleaned. Kona Vacations responded to all our requests for help and eventually boarded an area behind the dryer that may have been the entry source of the rodent. However no one cleaned that area then. There was also evidence of some old fecal droppings on some of the baseboards in the main area of the house and the garage.

Aloha Sue, Mahalo for taking the time to leave us with a review. We apologize you had an experience with a rodent. This beautiful home is surrounded by golf course and was constructed to provide an indoor/outdoor feel. There are sliders that open the entire main living and dining area to the outdoors. In addition, each bedroom is equipped with large lanai sliders that expose the space. We cannot control how exposed our guests leave the property. Some guests will leave the sliders open all day and this will allow bugs, geckos, rodents, etc. into the home. We have annual dryer vent cleaning and large appliances are pulled out and cleaned during a two day property deep clean (every 4-6 months) our cleaners do not have the manpower to pull out and clean behind appliances of every guest stay. The base boards should be wiped during every cleaning, I apologize that was missed. We apologize that you had a negative experience in our property and should you choose to stay with us again, we hope to provide you with a problem-free stay.

House that was confusing

House was great online and for the most part good in real life. We came from another island and with hopes of doing laundry when we arrived but washing machine not working. Very good response when we called but 12,000 house deserves a way better washer and dryer. Also tvā€™s very confusing could not watch live tv. Having the temperature set to 74 is a bad idea when it is 90 outside. Gardnerā€™s were at house for 2 hours so we missed out of time outside.

True Paradise

I would find it hard to believe anyone having negative things to say about this property. Our party of 7 had plenty of space, it is well stocked and the property itself is a one-of-a-kind gem!! I cant say enough good things about this, you have to experience it yourself to really understand the experience. Only 1 negative- The house is censored for A/C which is great, but we had an issue with the AC in the main portion of the house not working the first 2 days we were there, and it was boiling. I called the Management company and was told that the owner could see a door or window was open, so it won't work. For two days we searched for an open door or window.. nothing. We couldnt cook in the kitchen because it was sweltering. Come to find the morning of our third day, a sensor was laying on the floor and that was the issue with the "door" The only issue I have is if the owner can see that a door or window is a jar cant the provide which one.. *be sure to check for this if you are experiencing any issues with the a/c.

Great location and nice size home for families

The home is nicely laid out with some private suites, a beautiful koi pond entrance, privacy from neighbors and comfortable amenities. The location is walking distance to the beach club, the pool is nice for plunging and the patio table large enough for our family. We did experience some downsides: the AC operation is dependent on ALL doors and windows being closed at all times, or it kicks off. One of the door sensors was taped (masking tape) to the door and kept falling off, preventing the AC from working until we had a chance to tape it back up again. We eventually just stopped using the AC during the day. We noticed another reviewer also mentioned this problem. The hot water is solar and most of the time we had hot water, but barely any pressure. It took 47 minutes to fill a bathtub. We only had 2 burners working on the stove as operation is dependent on having the right size pots and pans to fit the burners. The pool pump stopped working on the 2nd day. It took another 3 days for the pool maintenance to fix this. There were a few lighting issues that were never resolved: patio string lights did not work, puck lights in the coffee bar did not work, there is a bathroom light out in the Aina Suite. We found some dead cockroaches in the theater room and the koi pond smelled most of the time (it was only serviced 1x not 5-10x's like the guest book indicates).

Family vacation

Lovely home, although the bedrooms have exterior entrances in the interior patio area, it worked out for the little ones. Bring your intercom systems! The pool was great and the views couldnā€™t be beat! Lovely location, a 4 minute walk to the club with a wonderful kid friendly beach and a great outdoor restaurant. We would definitely come back!
