Lone Oak Lodge is perfect for all tourists: Families, Friends, Nature Enthusiasts, Adventure Seekers, Girls Get-away, Guys Get-away, Relaxing, and more! We take pride in our river front lodge and want to ensure every customer has an AAA+ experience. If anyone has a special request or service they would like please let us know. We are happy to help. Customer Satisfaction is our number one goal! It is our goal is ensure you have a memorable vacation experience. Lone Oak Lodge is located in a private residential area of the New River Gorge National Park. Park Rangers offer safety and security to the community. Park Rangers have expert knowledge on local history, culture, local fauna & flora and more! Talking with a Park Ranger will give you a chance to discover local hidden gems.

The Lodge is a beautiful log cabin which features: One Master Loft Suite with a queen size bed, and half-bathroom, . One downstairs Master Bedroom with a double bed and adjoining Master Bathroom with jetted tub. Two full size futons are also in the cabin. Fully stocked Kitchen and Dining area. The living room has a large cut stone fireplace (made from rock from the local area), and futon couch. Some firewood is provided free of charge. Some extra amenities include: Keyless Entry, board games, Books on local Wildlife, History, & Culture.

A convenient amenity provided by the National Park Services: Public boat launch ramps. These ramps provided easy access to the New River for rafting, floating, fishing etc.. You can float to our location and various locations along the New River. We have riverfront access from our front yard, front porch for scenic views, back covered porch for privacy, outdoor fire-pits. Shower & Laundry Room. Roll-away beds available on request!
We have approximately 1 acre of riverfront property that could accommodate additional guests that would like to camp.

Lone Oak Lodge provides a perfect for escape from the noise of the city. A quick drive to Beckley, Fayetteville, Babcock State Park, Tamarack Artisan Center, New River Gorge Bridge , Mountain Biking Trails, rock climbing and repelling, hunting and some of the best fishing in the Eastern portion of the US. Plus so much more!!!

Beautiful spot in the West Virginia gorge Right on the New River. The community where the cabin is located is very relaxed. Everybody was very kind and waved as they walked by. The cabin itself has everything you need to stay, The upstairs queen bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. They even have dry fire wood underneath the front deck and they're working wood burning fireplace in the living room.

Had a wonderful time on our vacation. The house was in the perfect location and private. We enjoyed kayaking in the river right in front of the house. There were hiking trails close by that were wonderful. I highly recommend this property when looking to vacation near the New River Gorge!

Great Stay

We really enjoyed our stay. Check in and check out process was simple. The location was perfect, right along the river with a hiking trail just a mile down the road. Would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to be back.

Central Location along the New River

Central location along the New River providing easy drives to all 4 NRGNP visitors centers and Babcock State Park. We enjoyed coffee in the gazebo in the mornings. The cabin comfortably accommodated 4 adults. Host was very responsive. Great visit!

The only issue we had were all the stairs involved in getting up and down from the main part of the house, which the outside ones were pretty steep for carrying our personal effects. I couldn't figure out the downstairs shower and when I did I could not get hot water. Otherwise it was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay although too short.

Great place on New River

Great place in the country! Rustc vibe with modern amenities. Lots of stairs and a little remote. This is a beautiful safe place for quiet family getaway.

The shelter by the river was one of many high points. So relaxing to drink wine and eat dinner out there with the fan making a breeze and the river and its fishers gliding by. A quiet spot. Lovely furnishings. I loved being surrounded by wood paneling. Would definitely return!

The cabin is clean with a gorgeous view. My sister and I met there and had a great time exploring in the park, cooking/dining in the cabin and hanging out on the deck. We slept very well in the comfortable beds after a soothing whirlpool tub.

Weekend getaway

This cabin is am absolute gem. Couldn't have asked for a better place for a weekend getaway. Right along the water with a gazebo on the bank. The cabin has everything you need to feel comfortable and at home while getting away from your own. Would recommend to anyone.

Great experience

The house and property were exactly as described and just what we were looking for. Morning coffee by the river was very enjoyable and the weather was great so we had dinner on the deck. The space was very clean, cozy and comfortable.

Overall... good. Two items for other guests: (1) internet is intermittent (not unusual for a mountainous area and a metal roof). (2) river access requires good dexterity. If you have mobility challenges; forget climbing up and down the bank. The gazebo is great! Spent a lot of time watching the river goings on and the wide variety of birds.

River House

Decent location. Very rustic. Nice outdoor gazebo down by the river with wifi and seating. Very buggy when we were there so we didn't get to use it.Shower is in the unfinished basement but it is clean and functional.
