NOT A CONDO! This 2000-square-foot, stand-alone house is the perfect get away for your entire family. No shared walls, railings, entryways, elevators or parking lots so you can arrive with confidence and know that you will not be sharing your rental with other strangers. This 3 bedroom/2 bath home is a welcome retreat from your busy mainland lifestyle, with its vaulted ceilings, tropical island-style furnishings, fully-equipped kitchen, large laundry room, recessed lighting and skylights throughout, front courtyard, and backyard LANAI complete with lounge chairs, gas grill, hibiscus, and swaying palm trees.

Sliding glass doors from the guest bedrooms and dining room open onto the front courtyard, while the living room and master bedroom invite you to step out into the peaceful backyard and sheltered lanai. Step down into the warm, relaxing, sunken tub in the master bedroom suite. There are extra linens and beach towels.

Located on a cul-de-sac in Poipu Kai Resort next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort, Shipwreck Beach is just a short, 3 MINUTE WALK to the east via greenbelt pathways. Brenneke Beach and Poipu Beach Park with its wonderful children's swimming area and playground are a 5-10 minute walk to the west, also via greenbelt pathways.

Enjoy the outdoor gas BBQ grill and patio dining. If you choose to stay in touch with your office, you will find a dedicated, high-speed, Internet access line as well as wifi. There are tropical breezes and ceiling fans throughout to keep you cool.

The master bedroom has a KING, there is a QUEEN in the second bedroom, and 2 TWINS in the third bedroom. Additional sleeping for 2 extra guests upon request.

Perfect location

Great location. House worked well for us. Could use a little updating but fully functional and had everything we needed including beach accessories, a wagon and toys. We made most of our meals at the house and the kitchen had all the cooking utensils we needed.

Perfect family home in great location!

We stayed at this home for a week and had a wonderful time! We were able to walk to the Grand Hyatt and Poipu beach very easily. The house was perfect for us (traveling with an 18 month old) and was well equipped for kids. One thing we did not read was the house does not have AC. It was quite warm when we initially got there but there are fans and all the windows open. The backyard was nice and we sat outside often.

Great location

Great location near multiple beaches. We did some excellent scuba diving and snorkeling just down the road at Koloa Landing, and this made for an excellent base camp. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning, but we did alright without it.

Fantastic family stay

Great location for our young family. Walking distance to pool, beaches and the Grand Hyatt where we were attending a conference. Quiet neighborhood with little traffic. The Owner was very accommodating and helpful to us with our stay and some specific needs that came up. I would recommend this to anyone looking for space to spread out with a young family while visiting the island.

Poipu stay

We stayed in this home the month of March 2023 and found it to have plenty of room for our family. It is equipped very well with kitchen items and beach things. The home is older, but it suited our needs perfectly and the location is ideal.

Great home for family

We were there with our 2 adult children, their spouses, and a grandchild. The house was perfect for us. It was super clean, a well equipped kitchen, and lots of gear for beach activities. Sonya responded promptly to all our inquiries and went out of her way to make sure that our stay was enjoyable.

Amazing

We were a family of 4, one of whom used a wheelchair, a set of grandparents and a sister, husband and 10 year old. The house was well located and has great kitchen and bar b q for meal prep. The location is very walkable and close to great beaches as well as a great jumping off spot for visits to other parts of the island.

Great stay!

Nice place to stay! Well equipped with kitchen supplies, beach towels, boogie boards, plenty of T. Paper and paper towels! Was a little warm in the late evening but cooled off nicely from about 11PM on! Close to a couple of beaches but seemed like a little longer walk than as stated. Our family of 8 fit very comfortable here with 2 younger boys sleeping on the pullout sofa. House needs a few updates but is very adequate. We enjoyed our stay here!

Fun Family Vacation

Great location. The kids loved the daily wagon rides to Shipwreck Beach. Was a chill few days in a nice house. The house gets a little stuffy when it’s hot during the day so the more air flow you get going the better. Not super important but I think a remote might be missing for the living room TV (couldn’t figure out how to go “back”). All in all a great trip. Would stay again.

Hawaiian gem

The location of this property is amazing! Within walking distance of many beaches. The wagon was a life saver! The property fit our large family well and we weren’t on top of each other in the least. We used the grill about every night! There were plenty of things in the kitchen for us to use to make meals. LOTS of things to make a stay with a toddler very comfortable- a potty seat, toys, a booster seat, a pack and play, a “floor bed”. The host was very responsive to a few questions we had about the home and so helpful! For the price, it was perfect. Many homes in the area are quite a bit more! A true gem and a great find for a great stay.

Nice stay in Poipu

This was a convenient and clean rental home. The location is very good. The amenities are good. Some beach equipment is available for use. The only downside was a lack of good air flow which made it hard to cool off the house, and one of the TV or TV remotes was not working. Everything else was great.

Terrific location and responsive host

All previous reviews are accurate. The house is as pictured. It’s charming and is true to the Hawaiian style. If you need air conditioning, you may want to reconsider this home; the house becomes extremely hot in the afternoon and early evening. After a few days, however, we didn’t miss having air conditioning! Overall, I suggest this home as it is located in lovely neighborhood close to two beaches.

Great location and we’ll stocked house

The location is unbeatable. Easy walk to both poipu beach and shipwreck beach which are two of the best beaches in the area. The house was well stocked with supplies including soaps, trash bags, shampoo/conditioner etc. There was great airflow in the house with the lower shutters that opened. The house was definitely dated but that was apparent in the photos. The appliances were touchy to get working correctly and the towels could use updating but otherwise we had a great time and would stay at this house again.

We live in the California Bay Area. We have 3 children and visit this house every year at least 3 times. We consider it our home away from home and our kids love the island and all its activities. We always discover something new on each visit.

We bought this house after visiting Kauai numerous times. Our first visit to the island was to the north shore to backpack the NaPali coastline. Since then, we decided to buy on the south shore due to its centralized location, resort feel and drier weather. We know you will love the location in Poipu since the house is within walking distance to 3-4 different beaches, restaurants, shops, pool and tennis.

Our extended family love the privacy of the inner courtyard, the closeness to the Grand Hyatt and the beaches, and our parents love the single level and openess of the house.
When our kids were younger, the inner courtyard and backyard were a great place for the kids to play.
