This simple yet comfortable cottage is just a very short block from the ocean. Enjoy year round swimming, snorkeling and sea turtle watching at Poipu Beach Park just a five-minute walk away. Nearby is Brenneck'e Beach where boogie boarding is popular.

Relax on the porch amid tropical breezes and take in the ambiance of this quaint, local neighborhood. Plantation Cottage features a Hawaiian setting with the rustic charm of a Hawaiian plantation home from a bygone era.

A wide choice of beautiful sights, activities, restaurants and shops are nearby, some within walking distance and many just a short drive from this cottage. Golfers will appreciate being near two Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed courses: Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course and Kiahuna Golf Course. The Hyatt's renowned Anara Spa is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the cottage.

Other nearby activities include horseback riding, electric bike rentals, tropical gardens tours, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, surfing, swimming and snorkeling.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. The space was just right for our daughter, granddaughter and ourselves. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we need to cook our meals. The outdoor shower was wonderful! We spent many hours on the front porch, reading, playing games and doing art. The short walk to the beach was great, we could take a dip whenever we wanted to without having to deal with parking. The cottage grounds were beautiful, well maintained. We loved it and were sorry to say goodbye.

This place is literally paradise in paradise - absolutely beautiful location with a gorgeous tree outside and the cottage was perfect for our family of five - could not have found a better place to stay!

The kitty is a highlight of this property along with the outdoor shower which is lovely! Thank you for an opportunity to enjoy a slice of Hawaiian life and all the hard work involved in keeping such accommodations up to date and with all necessary things at hand. We wanted for nothing!

Great spot in Poipu

If you want to stay in the heart of Poipu but not have to be in a hotel/condo this is a great house option. It's small and simple but feels legit-Hawaiian in the best of the ways. Location is fantastic.

This is a classic old Hawaiian home one block from the beach. Well located and well furnished. It's not new and shiny and condo perfect, it's a home, which we loved.

Family getaway

Good stay for 3 people. Easy walk to beach. Lovely sunrise and sunsets. Plenty to do on the island. Can be as busy or as quiet as you like to be there. Host was very nice and fresh fruit he brought to us was much appreciated!

Paradise Found

Almost perfect beyond words but I’ll try. Best stay on the island yet (5th visit). We’ve stayed all over the island and we’ve found our paradise. Steps from the ocean yet somehow secluded in the busiest part of the island. We cooked every night on the verandah and bookie boarded past sunset every day. I can’t wait until we meet again Plantation House! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

The Best Place We’ve Ever Stayed in Hawaii!

This was such a lovely, comfortable, cozy cottage. We felt so at home here! Montgomery and Julie are friendly, helpful hosts, the cottage was clean, and beautiful touches like orchids in the house. An easy stroll to swimming beaches. We will be back! If you are someone who prefers something a little more home and neighborhood than the hotels and condos, this is it!

To most charming host, welcome basket and very attentive and answered all our questions and gave advice on all major topics as good restaurants, farmers market etc. Our son had great surfing on Poipu. As usual the cottage was very comfortable for my wife and me and a series of house guests. In particular, we love the covered porch and the location close to the beach. This year the kitchen appliances were new which improved our ability to prepare meals.

Great location and we love the retro setting and architecture. I feed the birds each day and watch the Myna, red crested Cardinals, Northern Cardinals, Rock Dove, Stripped Dove and Java Sparrows, not to mention Kauai's Chickens. Watching the star studded sky while using the outdoor shower is a highlight.

Perfectly Relaxing

Our family of four enjoyed everything about the cottage and stay in Lokoa. The owner was very kind and helpful. The accommodations were well thought out. He included beach towels and chairs, buggy boards, and fresh mangos and bananas. We loved the front porch and outdoor shower. All the locals we spoke with were friendly and helpful. We rented bikes from the e-bike place a stones throw away and had a fun ride. Poipu beach was our favorite. The ceiling fans were a godsend. We found some great local restaurants on Rice street. Kauai is a magical paradise and Montgomery’s cottage is fantastic.

Another Visit to the Plantation Cottage

It has 2 nice bedrooms and one small one (a single bed). My wife and I stay here and rent the one next door for our family. It is well equipped and has new appliances in the kitchen. We love that it has a covered porch (yes sometimes it rains on Kauai). It's a short walk to Brennecke's Beach where we ofter view the sunset.
