Beautiful location with a modern, inviting design and an exceptionally clean space. We were skiing during our trip, and it was amazing to come back to such a serene setting surrounded by scenic nature. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable, hassle‑free stay.

Quiet Location

The place was very clean and comfortable. It was a nice, quiet home to get away for a long weekend.

Great base camp

Traveled to the North Shore for fun and relaxation. We enjoyed the area sightseeing and hiking. After a fun day of enjoying the area the Wheel Hus Retreat was a great place to grill some food and sit back and relax

Perfect Retreat

This is an exceptional property. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and convenient to shore destinations both north and south. We literally loved our stay.

Very nice property.

Great location, close to everything and yet, hidden in the trees, away from everything. We were here to ski at Lutsen and it was very convenient. Got to spend a wonderful time with family and my 5yo son. Thank you.

Another great stay at Wheel Hus

Second year staying at Wheel Hus for a long weekend of skiing at Lutsen. Spacious, clean, quiet, and an ideal location for skiing. Will certainly consider returning next year!

Nice hideaway on the north shore

Well built luxury cabin. The kitchen is fantastic and lots of great spots to relax. If brining infant, there are no shades on any windows. We used painters tape and black construction paper and that worked.

Fantastic cozy place

We stayed for two nights while we downhill skied. Both ski days were frigid cold. It was really nice to return each day to this solid cozy retreat. The fireplaces were great and intuitive to use. The kitchen has all needed amenities. The bathrooms and showers were perfect. Everyone in our party bicycles a lot and we loved the decorative theme of bicycle wheels!

Great Place to stay!

We stayed 3 nights for a little winter getaway and this place was perfect. Secluded, really nice on the inside, plenty of space for the four of us. Fridge was big, the stove was really nice and had all the utensils we need to make our meals. We used the wood burning fireplace in the 3 season porch which worked great and they provided all the wood. House was warm in the winter with additional floor heat and one of the bedrooms had a gas burning fire place that also added a nice ambiance. Would highly recommend. Staff were responsive and helpful!

Wonderful Stay

The pros: - top of the line finishes and appliances in this new home - comfortable and spacious - fantastic star gazing - wonderful location The Cons - - no window treatments, we felt a little exposed with no blinds on any of the windows of the house - rough sawn cedar interior walls, although they are beautiful, our 5-year old got some pretty nasty slivers from the walls… Overall, this still deserves a 5-star rating because I don’t know if they will add window treatments in the future… which I believe would have made this place perfect. We have stayed at dozens of places on the north shore and this place has the best finishes and appliances by far. Thanks for the great stay.

Great property on the North Shore

This newer property is beautiful and very large to accommodate a larger family. We enjoyed our time there, but one recommendation is to either bring your own window coverings if you need a dark room during the day. Our toddler needs a dark room to nap in and none of the windows had shades or blinds. Would be great to have had these added. Otherwise, no complaints.

Great Location

We spent 4 days on the North Shore exploring state parks and scenic gems! The house was a great base location. We were able to enjoy the table for games and watch some March Madness on the TV. Bring your own games- as the house only has cards and poker chips. The cozy fireplaces kept us warm! Just a heads up, you have to drive to Lutsen to drop off your recycling. The outside garbage was a little hard to find and was full. Would definitely recommend.

Great stay

The property overall was great. Their are no blindsor window treatments of any kind on any of the windows. We had to get creative so the kids could nap and we wouldn't be woken up at 5am. I called the listed number for questions twice to ask for more dish washing tabs and was never able to get ahold of anyone at Cascade Vacation Rentals. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook and the grounds were gorgeous. Super convenient for day trips to Lutsen, Grand Marais, Split Rock and Gooseberry Falls. Would definitely recommend and consider staying at Wheel Hus again.
