Newer Luxury Log Home overlooking Beautiful Lake Glenville. Nestled between the Towns of Highlands and Cashiers in a Private Gated Community with Large Estate Sized Lots. Soak in Total Privacy as you enjoy the Panoramic Views. This home Has Large Outdoor covered Areas (Outdoor Livingroom and Outdoor Dining Area) This home has 3 Bedrooms (All feature King Sized Beds with 2 Masters downstair and 1 Bedroom upstairs with a Loft. There are 3 Full Sized Bathrooms. The Log Home features soaring ceilings. 2 Fireplaces, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, The Home has many log and wood accents and features. This home overlooks Lake Glenville and The Smoky Mountains. The average temperature in the summer is 75 degrees and beautiful, The fall has a beautiful changing of colors.

We have a Lakefront Pavilion as well as lake access with 2 Kayaks for your use. We have Hi-Speed internet and Satellite TV (all are Smart Tv's) enjoy Stereo with Surround Sound. The house is located between the towns of Cashiers and Highlands. Highlands is a beautiful small town, very quaint with a live playhouse as well as many 5-star outdoor dining restaurants.

It also has many lovely shops for your pleasure. There are 30 Waterfalls within an hour's drive and many scenic sites, We are at a 4000' elevation 45 miles past Ashville which is the closest airport. There are many outdoor activities at your disposal: The Biltmore Estate, The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad...

The area is famous for it's Whitewater Rafting. There are many hiking trails or you can try your luck at fly fishing. If you love golf, you're in luck - there are many first class golf courses within 20 minutes.

Our Home is very private and sits on 2 1/2 acres; it can't be seen from the main road. We have outdoor security cameras for your protection. We are in a Gated community with paved roads and there are about 30 homesites within.

Can't beat waking up to that view

House and property were beautiful but nothing surpassed the view of the lake and mountains. Only wish there was a high top table and chairs on the deck so we could just soak in the view while having cocktails. Roads are twisty so just be warned you can't over indulge and drive home. We would definitely consider returning again, possibly with fall colors.

Family Weekend Getaway

My family had a wonderful time at this lovely cabin. It was very clean. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the ease and comfort of their guests. We will definitely be back.

New Years Eve stay

Property is very, very nice and the views are wonderful. Having all bedrooms with king size beds and their own bathrooms is a definite plus for our family. The only minor improvement would be on the cleaning crew. There were no trash bags other than one in the can and there was no dishwasher soap so we bought some ourselves.

Beautiful cabin with beautiful view

The cabin and view were just as described - gorgeous cabin and beautiful views! Having 3 king bedrooms each with their own bathroom was great - everyone had their own space but could also come together in the living and dining rooms. We spent a lot of time at the large table playing cards and enjoying the view. Laurie was extremely responsive on any questions we had.

Great Views

The cabin was comfortable, clean, and exactly as advertised. The view was phenomenal and the deck and covered fireplace were beautiful. There was a strong mothball smell, assuming they were in the crawlspace and understand the purpose of having them, so it was fine.

Luxury Fall Foliage

Three couples met up for a Fall relaxation. We like to cook together and sit into the night with a fire in the fireplace solving the world’s problems. This is the perfect place. Convenient to Cashiers, Highlands and lots of great waterfall hikes.

Wonderful Home with Exceptional View

We were delighted with Black Bear Den. We are frequent visitors to the Cashiers area and felt this home was one of the best experiences . The home is well provisioned, clean, within a beautiful neighborhood and offers amazing mountain & lake views. The owners were extremely helpful. The outdoor fireplace and deck offers an amazing relaxing space.

Holidays 2021

I ultimately chose this property based on the great reviews and the property was just as advertised. The house is lovely as is the neighborhood and the views overlooking Lake Glenville with the mountains in the background are exceptional. The owners were very accommodating and responsive. We definitely will be revisiting this gem in the near future.

Outstanding Property

There is nothing negative we can say about this property! Had a wonderful Thanksgiving week away in this beautiful home and the beautiful mountains of NC! The views are amazing! Home was very clean and the owners were always there if you needed anything or had any questions. Highly recommend!

Property was very nice, good location, beautiful view. Would stay there again. Online information had confusion on the number of beds/bedrooms in the house. It worked out well though and we very much enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful Leaf Weekend

Beautiful, spacious and comfortable property with excellent views of Lake Glenville. It is a little more remote but we were looking for the quiet side of things so it was perfect. Owner was very responsive. Word of advice if it is the season for a fireplace to purchase firewood at Ingles in Cashiers or the Lawn and Garden store on the way in to avoid a $150-250 fine for using any of the owners wood. Also there is a $150 fine if the stove is not perfectly clean at checkout. Lastly there is a list of checkout chores that must be done before the 10 AM checkout such as stripping the bedsheets and starting the load in the washer etc. despite a housekeeping fee. Overall a perfect retreat in the mountains in a quiet neighborhood overlooking the lake.

Beautiful, spacious and comfortable mountain escape

We had a 4 night get away with our best friends. The house was extremely comfortable. The deck is amazing. We enjoyed a lovely fire on the porch every night. It is easy to get to Cashiers, Highland, Brevard and Cullowee.

Perfect get away

Amazing Log Cabin

This was a beautiful log cabin with amazing views of Lake Glenville and the mountains. I loved the privacy and peacefulness of the property. The location was also very convenient, only 15 minutes to Cashiers where we bought groceries at Ingles and 30 minutes to Main Street Highlands where we enjoyed dining and shopping . I took my children hiking at High Falls Trails, which was only 17 minutes away. When we were all warn out, we enjoyed our time back at the cabin continuously enjoying the beautiful view from the living room and deck, while grilling on the outdoor grill. This cabin had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked; there were games, warm, cozy blankets, comfortable beds, and soft bath towels. As an added bonus, the owners,Laurie and Bruce, were great. They were easy to reach, and responded to questions promptly. I would definitely recommend this property. It will not disappoint.

Fantastic house!

A wonderful house, so well appointed! It had everything we needed and THAT VIEW! We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace so much and walked down to the lake to kayak....Wonderful stay!

Great COVID getaway

Our family of 4 had a wonderful getaway at this beautiful, meticulously maintained mountain home during Christmas week. The holiday decorations were a nice surprise that enhanced our holiday spirit. Given that it was COVID time, we chose to stay close to the home and ate all of our meals at the house. But found the nearby High Falls trail beautiful to walk along and also booked a 2.5 hour private outdoor adventure tour with Highland Excursion that we all loved. We even enjoyed just walking around the neighborhood and down to their lakeside beach. The outdoor deck overlooking the lake is breathtaking and will offer you all the zen you care to absorb. As others have commented, the kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware, which this cook much appreciated :) . Our only suggestion would be bringing your Roku along with an HDMI cord, so you can hook it up to the main tv to have access to watch your Amazon & Netflix movies for evening tv watching. Would highly recommend!

Fall Family Getaway

We spent 4 days here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The outside porch and fireplace was my favorite feature. The house itself is spacious and well equipped with lots of extras. The appliances were all high quality. The sunrise in the mornings are just glorious from the deck ans the huge spacious windows allow for the best view of the mountains and the lake below. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house is nestled in a private gated community so you feel very safe.

This property is the best we’ve ever rented. The house was very clean and well supplied. The views are spectacular, and the outdoor fireplace was our favorite feature. Very private and quite neighborhood. We would love to be able to stay another month. D & J Brane
