Welcome to The Hut, the back house to The Beachcomber, and part of the The Freaky Tiki.
The Hut is a completely rebuilt back house, in the historic Heart of Lubbock neighborhood. I redesigned this home from bare bones to be amazingly comfortable and enjoyable with every amenity you expect. The brand-new HVAC system will keep you cool or warm with the easy-to-use Nest thermostat, new plumbing, and Ring alarm system and outdoor camera will give you piece of mind during your stay.
The TVs are connected through the high-speed Wi-Fi and are Smart TV's, so that you can watch your favorite Netflix show, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+, etc... local channels are also available.
The kitchen features Talavera tile and butcher-block countertops, as well as brand new appliances. You will also find all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, blender, mixer, crockpot, cookie sheets, plates, bowls, cups, and flatware you need to cook a full meal. Plus, a coffee bar setup!
The bedroom features a high end king mattress that regularly receive compliments from my guests, plus cozy bedding, and room darkening curtains. There is a nightstand on each side of the bed with USB lamps to charge your devices easily.
The living room has a sofa with a queen size pullout bed for extra guests.
The bathroom has totally been renovated with a beautiful tile shower, and is filled with soft, plush towels, and all the bathroom amenities you will need, including a hair dryer.
The backyard is a tropical paradise with a courtyard, firepit, and the Tiki Tavern for guests to relax in the open air and have a drink or two! There is a gas grill, multiple seating areas, and lounge chairs to soak up the sun. Cornhole boards, Darts, Horseshoes and Putting Green to enjoyā¦or have some friendly competition!
Parking is available on the side of the house.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Hut! The backyard was amazing. The tiki hut, putting green, and swings were a huge hit. The space was fun, relaxing, and had everything we needed. We loved everything and would definitely stay here again

Our host was very accommodating. My husband spent a lot of time at the Tiki Bar. He also used the putter on the green. He's an outside guy married to an inside girl. Everything was just as shown on the pictures

Cute little one bedroom one bath with plenty of space and awesome outdoor space to relax and even host friends. Within walking distance of Tech campus. It has an awesome decor that makes you feel youāre on an island.

A fun and welcoming place for us to enjoy with our son and his college friends! The Freaky Tiki Hut and backyard games were a huge hit!

Excellent stay all around. The property is inear the center of town near the University, so easy to navigate to most useful parts of town in general. Attentive, prompt, friendly host. Very nice and clean property with well kept amenities. Comfortable, quiet, cool, dark bedroom at night. Nice livong area with a good television and a fully functional kitchen area. Nice bathroom including a shower with a powerful showerhead, which i always love. The entire property we stayed at is consistently Tiki themed throughout without being overbearing or cheesy. The back yard area has a lounging spot with lights and a bar area with a gas powered fire pit nearby. Great stay on a nice property with a great host! 5 stars!

We had the best time! The house was so comfortable and clean. Perfect location, close to TTU. Beverly is a great host. Weāll definitely come back!!

Outstanding property, Beverly the owner was awesome on the communication. There was a very nice backyard to relax in and very comfortable home overall with easy access to the university, dining and grocery stores.

Wedding Trip
It was awesome for my friends and I to be able to relax in the back yard and spend time together. Exactly what we needed! Beverly was great. House was awesome and very homey.

Nice and Cozy
The property was very clean and it is clear that care has been taken to make the space comfy and inviting. The decor lends itself to a vacation feel and the outdoor space is fun and relaxing.

The Hut was perfect for our stay. It was beautifully decorated, well furnished and Beverly was delightful. The backyard is a treat and the location is convenient to University and 19th Streets, making it easy to get anywhere. It was very clean and check in was a breeze.

Cute, fun and hospitable
The Hut is preciously decorated, and the backyard area is awesome for hanging out when the weather is nice. My college daughter and her friends that visited me were delighted with the swings, darts and yard games. The house was just the right size equipped with all the necessities for coffee and even some snacks. The TV/kitchen area was delightful, and we enjoyed the puzzle! A couple of the cups smelled funky, and I discovered it was due to a sour sponge. I alerted the host and was informed there was a new housekeeper, and the issue would be resolved. Some of the neighboring houses seemed a little sketchy, but I did not have any problems. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable visit, and I would definitely stay at this property again, even maybe renting the larger house in front when the rest of my family joins me!

Wonderful!!
This experience was awesome! The house is located in a cute little neighborhood with lots of life. It's right around the corner from the campus and town (literally). It was so clean and beautiful, the backyard is a fun little hang-out spot. Loved every bit of it!

Great place to relax!
What a cool place to relax and unwind! Outside setup is so entertaining. Everything you need here in a small, but super comfortable package! Beverly is an outstanding host and made everything seamless and easy! We will definitely be back!!

I have always had passion for kids, having worked as a Lifeguard, Summer Camp Counselor, and Pre-School Assistant. For over 17 years and running, I have worked for the local ABC and CBS News Stations, just 3 miles from one of my greatest passions - 21 Raider Alley.
After seeing the need for student housing in 2004, I decided to invest in Texas Tech rental homes. This gave me an opportunity to work with kids while solving every parentās problem: offering affordable, secure and comfortable accommodations for their children - all while building a great investment for my own daughter!
After buying my first rental on 21st Street, I quickly realized what a great block it was and continued purchasing homes on the block over the next several years. In 2017, I began my mission to provide a home away from home for people traveling to Lubbock for work, pleasure or to visit their children. I decided to turn two of my homes into Airbnbs, and thus, The Bung and The Copacabana were born.
