Gorgeous view, expansive covered back porch with fans & cascading stairs down to paver patio, fire pit and a dock where you catch an abundance of crabs! Large master suite with huge bath offering over-sized frameless glass shower, deep soaking tub & custom closet. Stunning glass addition off master suite w/cathedral ceiling, ideal for lounging or work from home! Wow view! Expansive kitchen with granite countertops, center island/breakfast bar & cathedral ceiling!

For security, the home is equipped with 3 Ring doorbells (cameras) -- 1/ located at the front door, covering only the front porch & steps; 2/ located on the front left side of the home, covering the full driveway; 3/ located on far left side of the covered back porch, covering the full porch & backyard. All of these devices are in plain view & only cover the exterior of the home. There are NO devices in the home or that can see into the home. Please let your host know if you are uncomfortable with the Ring cameras & we can disable them during your stay.

We stayed at Pier Joy for a week and had an absolute blast! The hosts were great—friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. There was tons to do, from relaxing on the deck to exploring the water. We caught a lot of crab right off the pier, which was a highlight for our family. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a perfect spot to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with easy water access and plenty of fun right outside your door!

Perfect Escape

My two friends and I have come here twice now for a weekend getaway. It’s just perfection. Warm and cozy without being on top of each other or cluttered. Absolutely beautiful inside, gorgeous views outside. Thank you so much!!

Relaxing on the waterfront

We are a retired couple and met our daughter and boyfriend for a reunion on Memorial Day Weekend. This home provided everything we needed and more. The outdoor space was a great place to relax or dine outside. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit one evening and enjoying the peace and quiet. The kitchen was one of the best equipped of any place we have stayed allowing us to prepare most of our meals at home. This home is pet friendly and the owners provide several nice touches to make furry family members comfortable. We would love to stay here again.

Great experience for the family

My family and I stayed in the house for three nights in mid-April. Overall, this was a great experience.The home was well maintained and as advertised, the location was excellent, and our family had a great time.We expect to return next year.Thanks again.

peaceful and perfect

The property was great, we were in town working a boat show, The house was exactly as described, had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Hope we have the opportunity to stay there again.

We had a wonderful time in this rental. It was so comfortable, beautiful and clean. One of the very best we have stayed. Appreciate being able to have the owners share this home with VRBO followers. Hope to return later in the right season to try to crab off their dock. Loved all the geese.

Midship Visit

We had a relaxing weekend with our midshipman and pier joy was beautiful. Great kitchen and family room to cook and watch movies together. Very quiet area for rest and deep sleep. Fantastic outdoor space for coffee and reading. Was the perfect home for our time together and the hosts were responsive and helpful!

Relaxing

Was only for a few days but the views were peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed. The house had everything you’d need to just show up with clothes and enjoy. The list of local restaurants and grocery was super helpful.

New Years at Pier Joy

Pier Joy was a great location for a family get together south of Annapolis on the Bay. The view was lovely on the water. The house had great kitchen for cooking together. Well supplied. Bedrooms upstairs were lovely. Master bath wonderful. We would love to come back in the summer when we could enjoy the pier and the back deck. Jeff and Joan were very accommodating answering all questions — and providing excellent recommendations for local restaurants. We will definitely return!

Great place

This family of 5 had a great stay. Love the water views and ammenities - everything we needed including extra blankets and wood for fireplace - very homey and comfortable with plenty of space - thanks so much for a very enjoyable Thanksgiving trip to see family in Maryland.

Made in the Shade

We came for a restful vacation in a beautiful location and we're not disappointed! The deck overlooking the quiet creek was exceptionally commodious and comfortable. The padded wicker lounges invited several refreshing afternoon naps! Inside, the lounge area was outfitted with multiple comfy chairs and sofas - and gave a wide and unrestricted view of the picturesque yard, dock and waterway. Our hosts were extremely accessible, both before our arrival and during our stay, and promptly answered any of our questions and made suggestions for area restaurants and other amenities. They also made sure we had access to kayaks and a crab trap. We managed to catch 8 crabs - enough to make a delicious crab dip to top off our week.

Fantastic location!

We had a great family weekend. Even though we had a little rain we lived on the back porch just watching the drizzle on the water. The house is set up well for family time. Very peaceful! Would definitely come again !

Perfect Chesapeake Bay getaway with the family!

Pier Joy was perfect for a long weekend with the family. I trailered my boat out from DC and used the private dock at the house. Surprisingly easy. In good weather, it’s great home base for a beautiful cruise up to Annapolis or across to the Eastern shore. The house is gorgeous and exactly as advertised. Joan and Jeff were fantastic hosts, very responsive and Jeff even took time to help me get the boat in and out.

It is Pier Joy!

We had a wonderful stay at Pier Joy and really enjoyed the area. The view out of the back of the house is gorgeous and the dock is in very good shape. We wanted a low key quiet get away and this home and area did just that. There were good restaurants near by. The grocery stores lacked, but we also did our research on that prior and went prepared. Joan was extremely welcoming to our family and our 2 dogs. Overall the house was very clean and well kept. However, I do think the floors could use a heavy mopping and the staircase banister needs a good wipe down and secured. It was loose. The kitchen is well stocked, but the pots and pans leave room for improvement. There was also only one small cookie sheet. The drip coffee maker could also be replaced. There were no coffee filters. There were plenty of plates, silverware, cups and mugs. The beds were a bit stiff and I think the pillows, master bedroom bedding and all the pillows in all bedrooms need replaced. They were not very clean when I took the pillow cases off. The front right bedroom also didn’t have a mattress cover. The living room furniture was okay. The small arm chair is dirty and definitely needs replaced. There is a small gold colored sofa that didn’t appear clean so we didn’t use it. The back desk was very welcoming, but I think with summer coming the cushions need cleaning. The fire pit was awesome! I would stay again, but hope some of the needed improvements are made for the price point.

Peaceful Perfection

Fantastic! Two girl friends and I stayed for a weekend getaway. The house is lovely with multiple nooks for reading, or snuggling up and talking. The views were gorgeous looking out on the water. Joan was very responsive with my questions, everything was just as described. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Thank you so much! We would love to book again!!

Wintry getaway

Even on a cold and windy weekend, Pier Joy did not disappoint! The house was spotless and cozy. The kitchen was spacious. The views were great even from the inside. Just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle. Can’t wait to return in a warmer month!

A few days away!

Our family needed a few days away and enjoyed this beautiful home on the water. What is it about a water view that helps to calm the soul. Pier Joy was beautifully decorated with a well stocked kitchen. The master had amazing views of the water from the sunroom and huge bathroom. Great outdoor space and A+ service from the owner. We walked, relaxed, played games, drove around and enjoyed seeing all of the boats. Shady Side had that small hometown feel that reminded us of a different time. People were so friendly and welcoming. Our stay was just what we needed, and we hope to visit again.

Pure Joy at Pier Joy

The photos of this fabulous home does not do it justice! We fell in love with this location during our here for our son’s wedding in Maryland and we hated to leave this lovely property! It was warm and inviting! The hosts were a joy to work with! We had everything we needed to make a comfortable stay
