It was way bigger than expected and spacious. I was working all weekend so I didn't use the place much, but big fridge was nice. I had a very comfortable stay for the reasonable price for the area.

Overall, an excellent choice. Comfortable bed, roomy apt and quiet location. Spotlessly clean. Easy off-street parking. Speedy wi-fi. Owner is very precise in communicating (via Vrbo's app messaging) all pertinent information leaving nothing to guesswork. I would recommend this location without hesitation!

Great location and the host was very fast to respond to a small issue the first night. Beds were very comfortable and the place itself was perfect for our short stay. It was fairly quiet though you can definitely hear the people upstairs which is to be expected in a basement apartment - fortunately this was primarily during the day that we could hear anyone. Also, the shower was great and there’s a huge tv if you’re looking to unwind.

Excellent Stay

This was my 3rd time staying at this location. It is in a safe and easy location, close to the downtown area and train. Quiet and very clean with all of the amenities needed to have a comfortable stay. The host was very responsive in getting back to me quickly in one inquiry made. I would be very glad to stay there again.

Everything was perfect except cooking would be a problem for a long time stay. Communication with Rob was wonderful. Responded quickly and extremely helpful. I would stay again to attend an event at the capital theater as it was just minutes away

It is very well equipped, kitchen, rooms and bathroom, also near to the place I needed to go to help my daughter to settled in college, is only 45 min to jfk airport in normal hours

Loved the space and set up. Customer service was fast, friendly, and efficient and checkout/check in process was super efficient. I do wish that they had better lighting and an additional mirror in the living space. The poor lighting made it difficult to do my makeup for the wedding I was attending.

Quiet location, close to town

Great outdoor / patio space with adjacent for two cars. Located in a quiet residential area, about a 5 minute drive to the downtown business district. The host was quick to respond to a few questions that came up during our stay.

great level ground floor stay

We rented this for relatives who are in their 70s and 80s - it is totally flat and level and the car can pull right up outside. No steps or stairs, nice rooms, cute kitchen! It was quiet and in a quiet neighborhood. Will rent it again next time they visit us.

Very accommodating host.

There was an issue with boiler and the heat was not working very well so the host moved us to another one of his much nicer properties.

We spent a long weekend at this comfortable and clean unit. It is conveniently located with a designated parking spot right outside the door. Only 2 exterior steps down to the private entrance worked out great for our older Labrador Retriever who has difficulty with steps these days. The layout works well with a separate bedroom and living room, connected by a small kitchen with a full size refrigerator and small countertop oven unit (no cooktop). Bathroom is nice as well. The neighborhood is nice, and it’s only an 10 minute drive to restaurants, supermarket, shopping, etc. Everything worked out well for our needs, and we would recommend a stay here if you’re traveling to the area.

While the property was a great deal and a good location, it was advertised as one bedroom plus 2 Murphy beds; one in living room 1 and one in living room 2. We knew it was a basement apartment and that it was small, but expected three beds. When we arrived, there was one Murphy bed in the living room. The other Murphy bed was behind a king size bed in the bedroom, and was not accessible. I had selected this property over others because we were traveling with our 17 year old daughter and 14 year old son. They shared the Murphy bed and made the best of it, but it was not as advertised.I tried several times to connect with someone and received the real estate manager who kept telling me how to pull out the Murphy bed. Then I received "after hours" communication with someone in the Philipines who kept repeating the same message, clearly not understanding the issue. I believe they have since updated the listing.In addition, the coffee maker was missing an adapter so we had to go out and get coffee - less than ideal. The apartment was clean but the bathroom window was full of spider webs and a large dead spider when I opened it; something that should have been cleaned.These last issues were secondary and would have been minor had it not been for being extremely frustrated by the mistaken listing and the lack of response about it.As long as you know what you're getting and you are a couple or a couple and a kid, it is a great location and a great deal.

Basics were skimpy

We were disappointed in provision of basics: NO BAR soap in the shower, only Irish Spring shampoo, cheapest, thinnest toilet paper ever, skimpy glassware, silverware, utensils, totally awkward placement of furniture, a total of 3 washcloths, one hand towel, only 1 kitchen towel, no directions for the heating system. Location was convenient, and Murphy beds were fine, but I wouldn’t stay there again nor recommend to my friends.

I don’t think the guest paid attention to what she booked as this is the lowest price efficiency apt and she must have just picked lowest price of $90 a night on list minute discount. All of the instructions for check-in, heating, wifi, and entertainment are included in the checkin email in great detail. This listing has a kitchenette with no full oven. All pictures and descriptions are 100% correct and accurate. Correct, we provide pump shampoo and body wash as many guests there just a night or 2. We actually invest and get great mattresses, linens, big TVs, tons to watch. Most guests in this apt are their short term for 1-3 nights. We have much bigger and fancier listings that are not finished lower level. Harshly negative reviews of this listing are often from mismatch of expectations. We provide the best furnishings and accommodations that we can with this small 1 BR of 700-800 sq feet of finished lower level. The kitchen window and desk window are above ground. This really is for 1-2 people max, or possibly 3/4 for a single night as we get for many concert goers to the Capital Theater. This listing would be small for an extended stay. See safe house # 3 or #2 at thsi same property, or 3 miles away 'St Julians' for a much nice 3BR listing.

Disappointed

The apartment was clean, but it appears to be a work in progress. Closet was full of furniture, so there was no place to hang clothing. There was no dresser, so there was no place to put clothing for a week. There was no dishwasher. Had to wash dishes. Keurig coffee machine was not working. Coffee overflowed onto countertop. Outdoor table and chairs were filthy. Could not enjoy time sitting outside.I would not stay again.
