You are just as likely to see our resident mama bear and her cubs walking through our yard as you are to see an amazing sunset view or the glorious morning "smoky mountains" that are region is known for.

The location of the house is great! We really enjoyed Townsend. The views from the house were really nice. The hot tub did not work for our entire stay, which was disappointing.

We almost canceled our booking due to poor reviews in late 2025. We are so happy we did not! There are some cosmetic issues with the house as noted in previous reviews, but they did not negatively impact our stay. The house is clean, beds are comfortable and the view is spectacular! We had an issue with the hot tub (a bear sat on the cover the previous week) and Alisa was very responsive to our messages and worked to resolve the issue so the hot tub was usable for our stay. We would absolutely rent this house again.

The property had great amenities and was a beautiful drive away from the national park. The drive was about an hour from the Appalachian Trail and the drive through the park was stunning from the house. Coming back to the house after long days granted luxurious living room and hot tub for hanging out and relaxing!

Ok, the cabin im sure was very nice o ve upon a time. The boards on cabin deck were loose. Railing boards were attatched only in the middle. The driveway was so overgrown it scratched my expedition everytime going in and out. Grill was broken, no hot tub lid hot tub was cold. Looked as if cleaners couldn't see because there was an inch of dust on everything. Screened in porch the screen was torn off. Patio furniture was broken.. ice making in fridge didnt work. Tvs took hours to figure out because correct remotes were everywhere..shower upstairs one of the doors were missing on the shower, so when you showered u got floor wet. Like I said im sure it was very nice once upon a time. But I feel for what we paid there was ALOT wrong. I know how cabins should look I worked for a very upscale cabin rental company in the Hocking hills. The top of fridge and stove in stove drawer was gross with dust and food crumbs. But we made the best of it. We were there visiting with family. Thank u.

Great stay!

We had a great stay celebrating a 50th birthday. We were excited to witness a family of bears on the property. The property was great.

Beautiful setting, beautiful cabin. Very spacious, lots of amenities, could use a little TLC, otherwise really enjoyed the stay there. Also instructions on tv and fan remote controls would have been helpful.

We enjoyed the cabin, check in/out was easy. The view of the landscape is amazing out the front of the cabin. No real concerns with the cabin, everything was as stated in the description. Basics were all there for us. I would just note that the driveway, as stated in the description is STEEP(legitimately steep), like alot of the mountain cabins in the area. I would recommend getting there in daylight the first time so you have a proper grasp of it.

I booked this property based upon two things…. The view and the hot tub. Ot has a great view but the hot tub was a disaster and appeared it had not been in working order in some amount of time given its terrible condition. Overall the house has good space, but it needs a considerable amount of TLC. Simply put it needs some maintenance or the price point should be more commensurate with the quality of the accommodations.
The owner attempted to convince me they had no prior complaints about the non-working hot tub.
I contacted the owner upon arrival to let her know the hot tub was a disaster. I was only at the house for 2 nights and the owner said they didnt send someone to repair because I didnt send them photos. Well here are your photos I sent at checkout.
Nice view. Shares a driveway with a bigger house next door. I.e. not secluded.

As stated, the views were amazing, quiet location was great, secluded yet close to town..., I could go on and on, would absolutely stay again. Door knob needed fixed but I'm sure they are working on that 😉. Don't depend on gps for directions, get a map!

Overall this was a pretty nice place but the upkeep on the property leaves a lot to be desired. The paint on the whole house is all pealing off. The screens on the porch are ripped or just gone. Stains on the carpet in one of the bedrooms, the back door to the deck is broken and you have to even watch a video to figure out how to open it, there is a hole in the wall on in the stairwell to theaster bedroom. Now in the master bedroom, mold in the shower, a toilet that kept flushing, a shower that drips so hard that you have to leave the shower head hanging down so it won't wake you up, one of the shower doors is just missing letting water leak all over the floor with mold on the one side that was there and the doors to the master had thin drywall screws and fell out leaving only one hing attached. I spent about an hour and fixed the toilet that was full of mold cleaned up the mold in the shower, replaced the toilet guts, rehung the door and fixed the side rail on the master bed because it fell off. Also the back deck is about 2 to 3 years from needing to b a totally replaced. The deck is sagging and not level with a few soft spots. The pictures show a house in great shape but the owners have not done any real upkeep in quite some time. For the price I paid I would expect no mold. A solid porch with the screens not ripped and missing. No paint peeling and doors that don't need a video to close them that aren't half broken.

Views in the morning are beautiful!

Very nice, host is very responsive and helpful. It was the perfect size for our family that included 2 grandparents, 2 grandkids, and 4 adults. Loved how close it was to Townsend and accessing the park. It's as advertised and cozy.

Cabin near the Smokies

Wonderful place to set off into the Smokies. The view from the cabin between Foothills Parkway and GSM is incredible. Be sure to get a good soak in the hot tub after each hike! We loved every minute of our five nights here in wildflower season, 2023.

Beautiful home. Clean, well appointed. View is lovely. Hot tub was super clean! Beds comfortable. Loved the games downstairs! We had a wonderful time. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Thanksgiving Vacation

Hot Tub was not heating up, TV down stairs and the fire place down stairs did not work! The cabin was nice just needed a good cleaning!

The cabin was beautiful and very private. Very comfortable with the exception of the bunk beds and the sleep sofa. Sleep sofa needs a mattress, it is not usable. The door handles kept coming off even after a repaiman visited. Also only one half of a shower door on the master shower. Was not notified of this prior to arriving. Very steep incline to the property. We had a few problems but most were resolved.

Property was well stocked with everything in the kitchen needed to cook and serve 6 people. Having the upstairs master was nice for the folks that had an infant as it is large enough for a portable crib and away from the main area. Hot tub worked well and main living area was big enough for the 6 adults and one infant. Worked out well for the group. Exterior needs a little TLC but didn't affect the good time that was had by all. The firepit was not there. The driveway is very steep and parking can be dicey as the adjacent property was also occupied. Convenient to the Townsend Area. For the cost was a good deal.

The recliner was broke the double doors on the first level don't work they're broke it just comes open automatically kitchen table chair is broke the ceiling fan some of them do not work the hot tub on the outside of the house does not work there's a lot of stuff with the games in the basement does not work toilet paper holders in the bathroom are broken the ice maker is broken in the refrigerator it needs maintenance in there it all of these items was broken before we got there

For the most part property is as it appears in the listing however, it should be noted: This property is not for anyone with mobility issues. The driveway is extremely steep. The sidewalk is unkept and very uneven, and landscaping has not been maintained. No gas fireplace and large table outside as pictured.There are several small maintenance items that should be addressed such as Loose outdoor light fixtures, loose and rotted floorboards on deck, hot tub cover was busted, microwave handle loose, front door handle was broken, stove light hot surface indicator stays on- even when stove is not being used, nozzle in bathroom master bath is not connected to the tub, game system did not work, gate does not open and close without being lifted. Cabin could use a good dusting and vacuuming of the bedrooms.
