Delightful space for family gatherings or small group of friends, nestled in a friendly, inclusive country neighborhood. Owner lives next door and ready to help if there is an issue but you will feel secluded in this lovingly appointed house in the woods. This is a great place to relax with family for a few days or to just stay in a truly peaceful space while you decompress with friends. Nice fenced in back yard with deck and grill will help you enjoy the outdoors with a wooded view. Front porch looks out onto the country drive and more trees. Woods right next to the house can be explored too. The house is 10 minutes to Carrboro downtown with shopping and restaurants. There is a Food Lion and a Chinese restaurant about 8 minutes away . We are close to Chapel Hill and not far from Durham, both offering more options. If you plan to stay for more than a month please contact me for special rates . Please , no loud parties, and gatherings should be limited to 10 people. You may hear professional musicians practicing down the street sometimes if you are outside but it is never loud. If you want to check in early or check out late please just book the extra date. I can not guarantee altered timetables unless you do that since it takes time to clean the house between guests and often they bookings are back to back.
Please pay the pet fee if you are bringing pets, and please not we do not allow cats.

This house was perfect for our family, and it was nice to have a kitchen to cook breakfast and make lunch in. It was also just minutes away from The Honeysuckle Tea House where our son got married. Our host was very pleasant and readily available for questions. All in all we had a great stay!

The house smelled like dog! That was the first impression. And it felt dirty. I didn't want to walk around barefoot. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with dishes, but the pots and pans did not look clean enough to use. The beds were terrible - a mattress on a board. Although the house advertised sleeping 6, there were not nearly enough towels. There were only five of us and we had to wash towels every day in order to shower. Lots of the furniture was very rickety. The bathrooms, however, were great. I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

The bungalow near Carrboro was very cute and beautifully decorated. We stayed for two weeks to visit our daughter whoā€™s attending UNC. The property is down a gravel road that was fine unless you have heavy rain(that we did) and I was glad we had a SUV with all wheel drive. Weā€™re not from the area and thought it was a little far from Carrboro. The house wasnā€™t as clean as I would have liked, with hair in the bathroom sink and crumbs in the kitchen draws. The back patio was nice as was the fenced yard. Overall it was okay. The house is very cute and well laid out, just needs a good cleaning.

We had a great weekend stay at this cozy house in the woods. It was very peaceful and quiet, but not far from UNC (10-15min drive). Our minivan was able to handle the gravel driveway. The house and 3 bedrooms had plenty of space, and the gathering areas were the perfect size with enough seating for everyone. There is even a fenced in backyard if you bring dogs. No hand towels were placed out when we arrived, but we were able to get some from the closet. No toiletry items such a shampoo or conditioner either but we had brought our own. Veva, the host, was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again with my family!

Family weekend stay

We had a wonderful stay here for a nieces graduation weekend. It was great that we could bring our dogs and the fenced in yard was a nice place to relax.

Sweet place

The rental and the properly are located in a beautiful setting. The house was very comfortably furnished. Having flown in from the West Coast and solely being there to visit friends, we found the amenities a little lacking. Soaps, etc., in the bathroom, paper towels, glassware. Iā€™m imagining that it must be difficult to decide what to supply as some guests might take advantage of that and bring things home with them. Overall, it is a lovely property, and the host is most accessible.

Cute, nice, quiet home a short distance from Chapel Hill

We enjoyed staying here for UNC graduation weekend. A short drive from campus in nice quiet area. My family loved being able to spread out in one of the three bedrooms and having room to hang clothing for graduation. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and hanging out during our downtime. The porch was lovely and the living area was open with plenty of seating at the dining table and living room.

Great home in the forest near Carrboro

3 couples in our 80ā€™s enjoyed relaxing in this nice home in the forest after a reunion at UNC. Very nicely decorated with great beds and a lovely, quiet, forest setting. The home was mostly clean except for the outside and deck areas. The host, Veva, was easy to contact, very supportive and responsive to our questions. She immediately came over to help us figure out the TV:). The unsaved road was in good condition and the fenced back yard was great for our small dog. THANK YOU!

A great place to stay near Chapel Hill

The Blue Bungalow is clean and comfortable with all that guests might want, including a well-equipped kitchen. Our dog loves the fenced back yard, and we greatly appreciate the quiet "country" location close to Carrboro. This was our third stay, and we hope to stay again when we are in Chapel Hill.

Quiet, nice outdoors, confy inside

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights while visiting our granddaughter at UNC. Perfect location for that. Close to her apartment, campus, shopping and all the downtown Carrboro restaurants. But we came home to flowering trees and solitude.

This was just what we hoped it would be! On a quiet street, but still less than a 10 minute drive to lots of restaurants, markets, etc. The house was clean and had what we needed. The fenced in backyard was great for our pup. Would definitely stay here again.

We moved here after 30 years in Chicago. We have been in rural Carrboro for 3 years now and decided to buy the house next door when it came on the market. We love our neighborhood! Since the Blue House has been a vrbo rental the whole time we have been here we have helped out former renters frequently and realized we might as well become owners. I am a nurse, potter, gardener and grandmother. My husband Steven works with software.

The house has been renovated and professionally decorated. the location in the woods makes it both serene and a bit cooler in the summer and beautiful in the winter too. You will probably see deer and a whole lot of birds. This street has lots of Bluebirds and songbirds and you will see hawks, owls and vultures in the air on occasion too. Everything in the house is in order and labeled and thoroughly cleaned after each visit, and covid procedures are followed. In these times we take that seriously. Everyone on the street is vaccinated and we hope our renters are too.
