HIDDEN GEM - River front home with a dock.

Water front home with a gorgeous porch to soak in river views,enjoy the sunset & fishingwith your family. Private dock and lighted fishing pier with fish cleaning station. The views are like none other, a very unique view of the river.

The patio furnitures are cozy and comfortable,elevates the experience of the view to another level. The swing in the patio is not only a favorite of children but anyone who is a child at heart.

A fire pit for camp fires,a coal grill for BBQing, a picnic bench to enjoy the s’mores and tasty BBQ from grill.

3 bedroom and 3 full baths in all, 2 huge master bedrooms with king beds and en-suite bathrooms. Along with queen size pull over bed in the living area the home can sleep 8 ppl. Washer and dryer to enjoy longer stays.

Tv in each room with WiFi to bring your favorite entertainment. We have Netflix and Amazon prime in living area TV and some channels in Visio TV in one master bedroom. We recommend bringing a fire stick along for entertainment of your choice. Quick drive or boat ride to beach.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
The house has 3 bedrooms of which 2 have attached bathrooms with wall in showers and king beds. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk (twin) bed. Third bathroom is accessible from all parts of the house.

FRONT PORCH
The front porch is long and has furnitures for relaxing and enjoying the view.

KITCHEN
Kitchen is spacious and is equipped to cook and serve up to 8 ppl. There is a keurig to enjoy your favorite flavor of coffee! The living area has a sofa with a pullout bed and two single sofa to make a conversation set.

TV
All rooms and living room has TVs. All TV have some form of entertainment to other. Do bring your own fire stick to connect to the TVs for your favorite channels.
GAME ROOM Relax & Play in the Game Room
Step into a spacious game room designed for fun and relaxation. Challenge friends and family to a round of pool, or pull up to the stylish bar table with high-back chairs for a drink or board game. A convenient mini-fridge keeps your favorite beverages close at hand.

Open the doors wide and let the fresh breeze and natural light flow in—bringing the outdoors closer. From the room, you can take in peaceful water views that set the perfect backdrop for both lively gatherings and quiet evenings.
PRIVATE DOCK
The private dock is great for fishing. We have a crab cage to drop for crabbing. The fishing station is on the dock for your use .
Guest Parking
Parking for 3 - 4 vehicles is available in front of the garage. No access to garage. Boat can be docked in the private dock. Please be responsible not to block the way for the neighbors while parking in front of the garage.

WiFi details will be provided with check in information.
Water safety
Guests are responsible for their and their children’s safety on the dock . Swimming is not allowed near the dock.

We arrived on location around 10pm, well after check in time to find that the door code did not work and that there was no spare key in the lock box. We then had to sit outside with my child and wait for another hr. for a cleaning lady to arrive with a key. Bathrooms are not kept up and in need of major repair, shower walls falling off and shower doors off the glides. Bed sheets did not look cleaned when pulled back nor did the floors. Dirt and bottles built up under the couch that you can visible see. For the price they are asking they are not close to the quality of the other locations in the area that are asking the same amount. I asked for an extended checkout and I was soo graciously given 1 hr. and told any more past that would be charged. The Response from owners was delayed by several hrs. numerous times so you get no response in real time. Also, we had no access to the laundry room to wash clothes and when I notified them that the door was locked their response was that "they don't think it can be locked"....Well , it was locked and we couldn't wash clothes as we planned to due to our wade fishing trip. Honestly, the dock is a decent set up and the house has potential but the owners have not made any upgrades in the last few years as this is my second time to stay with the first being a couple years back. I had hoped they had taken the time to update as the price had increased from my last stay , but that isn't the case.

4th of July Celebration in Matagorda

Awesome place right on the Colorado river and just minutes from The Harbor in Matagorda. Loved the porch and the pier. Will definitely be coming back this winter. Kids loved playing pool in the game room and fishing/crabbing on the pier. Nice layout with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The property was perfect for our event. It had a dock to fish from and room for us to play guitars and enjoy the time together.

Beautiful view and home

The home was clean and roomy. The game room was an added bonus. It was Easy check in and out. The fishing pier gave us many hours of relaxation and fishing. Dolphins were swimming off pier the last morning. Had a great time and got some much needed rest. Would definitely recommend!

Good time but property lacking

The location, back porch, firepit, & river view was great! The description of the house was not accurate. The “child bed” in one of the BR was a very small couch…it was not big enough even for a baby(we were counting on this bed to accommodate an adult). The house was not as clean as I would want for guests. The kitchen was not adequately stocked, we cleaned the refrigerator before we put our food in it, there was no blankets, not enough dining room or living room seating for 8 people, one tv was not hooked up for use, the LR tv we could not get to work( never received call from owners husband as promised to try & get it working), there was not a “ 2nd key” to open the rec room, coffee pot has to be coaxed to work, & only 1 BR trash can & 1 small kitchen trashcans. The owner was very apologetic, but house was disappointing for amount we paid.

Fishing Trip

Trip and stay were fantastic. The Hidden Gem was what the name says. Owner was great to work, and communication was the best I have had. The house was close to what the pictures represent, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The dining room chairs needed some work. The game room was a great plus for all of us. Great for spending downtime and hanging out. The grounds of the house were kept well. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a big gas grill instead of the small charcoal grill. The fire pit and surrounding chairs was a hit with the group also. Of course, we were there for a fishing trip & tournament, so the dock was amazing. We spend hours during our off time fishing off the dock. The group caught plenty of fish and a few keepers. Overall I would recommend and stay here again and again. Thank you for a GREAT stay.

Private lighted pier for fishing( with cleaning table) night or day, Ok for boat docking/boarding, but no launching. Nice kitchen, adequate cooking equipment, plates, etc. Lots of bed and bath space. No complaints from us.

Love this place

The beds are comfy. The AC works well. We have stayed here before and love the fact that each couple has their own king size suite. I was sitting on the covered porch watching my husband fish and reading the reviews of this place online and everyone was talking about the pool table. I mentioned it out loud and then my husband went around to the back of the house and found the door to the garage opened and there was a game room! If I had not read that, we would have never known. It's a fun little room. I wish it had been listed in the amenities. I have no clue if it was there 2 yrs ago on our last stay cause we're not ones to go snooping where we don't belong and like I said, we had no clue it was even there.

Easter weekend was a blast

My kids loved fishing off the dock and the owner was very responsive when we tried. Contacting her. Property is very kid friendly and close to everything! We had more than enough room to spread out and relax for our recent Easter vacation. The pool table room was a neat addition giving the older kids a place to hang out without disturbing everyone while we slept! Loved the house and will definitely be back!

True Hidden Gem

This is a wonderful family home! We loved being close to town but right on the river. Having 3 bathrooms with a big family is a wonderful thing and there was plenty of space to spread out! The porch is my favorite spot for drinking coffee and visiting with family. I love how it perfectly frames the view of the river! The fishing dock is right in front of the house and the fish are ready to be caught! This is our new favorite place and we will definitely be back!

Great Fishing Cottage

We are frequent visitors to Matagorda but this is our first time staying in this area on the Colorado River. Cute cottage — Great location, we unloaded the boat at the harbor but were able to dock the boat at the cottage’s pier during the day. Great fishing at the pier at night under the green lights. It was nice to find a house with 2 king beds! Owners responded promptly.

We are curating homes in towns across Texas which are water fronts at unique location for the town . In matagorda Hidden gem is just that hidden in town side , where there are not any other rentals . It is close to town ,harbor and a short drive to the beach. It’s on the river close to ICW and to Matagorda bay.
