Private location at the Maui Sunset condo resort, wonderful place to enjoy the swaying palms backdropped by the ocean.

Third floor 1 bedroom 2 bath condo suite located on the 3rd floor with views. Easy access to tropical gardens and the ocean beyond. Quiet location features large private view deck and renovated interior. Doesn't get any better. Watch the life of Maui unfold from the morning till evening from your private 114 sq foot private view deck.

Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. 1 bedroom with private attached bathroom. 2nd bathroom down the hall with shower, large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. PLUS, large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, pool towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer.
Really, just hit the grocery store and you are set for the week!

General Info:
The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18 hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60 foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

Poor cleaning

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo didn’t look cleaned. In the second tiny bathroom the toilet seat had a brown smudge on it. Had not been cleaned. My husband washed the kitchen floor and the paper towels got black.There were no supplies. No zipper bags or Saran bags or laundry pods. It seems ridiculous for guests to buy these things when only staying a week.

Good time but little things were annoying

Reviewer Comments: My husband and I had a fun and relaxing time. Played tennis. Courts are in need of repair. Tripping hazards. Condo was nice but dishwasher stopped working. It was quickly fixed but garbage disposal was sacrificed to make that happen. Light bulbs burned out and needed to be replaced. Needed pot holders dish wash cloths and a ironing board.

Great Location, Met our needs

Overall this place met our needs and is located in a great central location in Kihei. However it definitely had the budget condo resort feel and could use several basic upgrades/repairs. The place had A/C, however the switches are tied to a timer, which does not allow you to run them for longer than 4 hours at a time. They are noisy, which helped drown out the roadway noise, however I was always woken up 4 hours into the night when they shut off. I would not consider this ocean view. You can barely see the ocean from the balcony, very far away. The resort had very nice grounds with a pool and activities. However I don’t know if I’d consider it beachfront. The skinny strip of beach is very rocky and not swimmable. Though there are several nice beaches a short drive away. We had a great vacation and the stay here was mostly positive, however just expected a bit more for the price.

Reviewer Comments: I have stayed with Maui Sunset 4 times and have had 3 great experiences with the units. This last one, A305, left much to be desired. The positives: great remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Convenient location to elevator, pool, etc. The negatives: Cleanliness was not 100%. The floor was dusty and the dishes in the cupboard had to be washed before we used them. The drapes on the sliding door were so tattered we didn't touch them for fear they would fall apart. Literal tears and rips in the back lining. The oven and stovetop did not work - we found this out as we began to prepare dinner. After calling maintenance, they came out the next day to fix it and let us know when it was done, which was appreciated. The dining chairs were all stained and looked like they needed a good cleaning. Overall, I would not stay here again unless I could "see" the property inside with a live view. The on-duty office manager was neither friendly nor unfriendly- just business like. No welcome and no "how was your stay" at the week's end. A much different experience than I have had previously.

The room was dated and maybe not the cleanest, but that worked fine for us. We loved the balcony and proximity to the beaches. The room came equipped with everything we needed and more (beach chairs, beach towels, beach toys, washer and dryer). Pleanty of space for a family of four in the 1bdrm, but we'd switch to a 2 bdrm next time.

The hosts were very responsive and location was good ( easy to get to multiple destinations and near grocery stores, shops and beaches). We did have to reclean our dishes and coffee machine upon arriving. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances necessities you may need. We particularly enjoyed the Lanai which overlooks a grassy courtyard with palm trees. The property is a little older and dark. The AC has a max 4 hour timer so it was inconvenient to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it on again. But overall, it was a good base for a trip to Maui.

Reviewer Comments: great location and amenities, check in process wasn't smooth, was sent to the wrong building and couldn't access room, had to haul all the luggage twice, no working phone in case of emergency, several room lights we out, coffee pot lid was broken and would spill if not held on with finger, living room tv did not work properly, kitchen sink had a leak in the drain piping, bi-fold mirror / door to washer-dryer needs adjusted and lubrication, patio/Lanai drapes were sun rotted/weathered and extremely poor condition, reported issues to maintenance and management via text and phone 4 times, no response but someone did come in while we were out and fixed the leak, 10th trip to Hawaii with the most issues of any trip however we will return if possible

The AC in the living room could not cool down the area and the one in the bedroom was cool enough but would shut off after a max of 4 hrs and you would have to restart it.

Great escape to paradise

Great unit, with fully equipped kitchen. Toaster does need to be replaced. Great that it had beach chairs. Would recommend and will come back.

Overall great place to stay

Great condo and accurate as listed. Loved the large lanai and two bathrooms. There was plenty of space. The property was beautifully maintained, and the location next to the beach was great. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. It was nicely located in a slightly less busy part of Kihei. The property management was responsive and helpful.

The unit is roomy and nicely setup and has washer and dryer.Cons:The bed is too soft for me. The toilet in the bedroom is leaking. Our unit lock was replaced during our stay. I wish the maintenance could call us first, so we would not panic when we found out our keys didn't work after a long day of sightseeing. The unit has beach chairs. It would be nice to provide a cooler.

The furnishings were overall very good with a couple of minor items that should be replaced such as the toaster and a beach umbrella. We definitely would stay at the same condo unit if given the opportunity. With these minor items I give a “10” rating.

First time in Hawaii

The grounds were phenomenal, as far as the grass, trees, tiki torches, little water fall. The walk ways and elevators and gym were clean. The pool area was pleasant and also very clean. Our room had some problems, like the pull out bed was damaged and hard to put away. When the air conditioner was on it was too cold but off it was too hot. And there were bugs, a lot of little bugs. They were on all the tables, on the floor and counter tops. I didn’t like eating in my room because of that.

Reviewer Comments: Easy check-in tho the office closes at 5, they have a phone on the side for check ins, plenty of parking, elevators and a cart to use for luggage. We had a 1 bdrm, 2 full bathrooms with a FULL kitchen and a balcony with great views of the mountains and the beach. Condo has a pullout couch and a day bed for extra ppl. An ac unit in living room and another in the bdrm, on timers 6 hrs max.The property is beautiful and very well maintained! Grills and a pool in the center and easy access to the beautiful beach with a great view of sunsets! The condo had chairs and a cooler plus some other beach stuff in the closet. Plenty of room for a family but perfect for a couple as well! Quiet time is from 10pm to 8am, though it was quiet all the time here!Condo was super clean, we used their towels when going out but returned everything once done, they supplied plenty of towels. The area is laid back, more locals than tourist and everyone is friendly. Close to a Safeway, gas station, and McDonald's. Perfect spot in my opinion and I will definitely stay there again!!

Good value for beach, amenities

Very close to Kihei shops/restaurants, nice pool, the property has its own beach, we saw 3 sea turtles while there. Our unit had a nice newly remodeled kitchen and baths. One negative-Our unit did not have access to TV channels, cable or wifi however. When we connected to wifi it said 'connected without Internet '

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our recent stay at the Maui Sunset was a welcome alternative during the current work-from-anywhere season of our lives. The unit was super clean and functional with a well-appointed kitchen and breezy lanai, and the internet service was solid during those frequent video calls. The location was practical for us as well, quiet and close enough to town that we did not need a rental car for this trip. It was a refreshing stay for us, and we are already looking forward to a return visit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was clear that the property management was not happy about opening their property up to mainland guest. Very disappointed in how we were treated not only on the property side but by locals all around. Pool was nice but some staff at activities desk were over the top policing. FYI you have to wear a mask in the parking lot even if you are by yourself. Don't ask the front desk for help with your unit as you are a timeshare not an owner.
