Fourth floor "A" building sunny side 1 bedroom 2 bath condo suite located at Maui Sunset in sunny south Maui. Easy access to tropical gardens and the ocean beyond. Watch the life of Maui unfold from the morning till evening from your private 114 sq foot private view deck.

Private condominium apartment at the Maui Sunset resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. 1 bedroom with private attached bathroom. 2nd bathroom down the hall with shower, large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. Large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, pool /beach towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer. Starter set of coffee, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Just hit the grocery store and you are set for the week!

General Info:
The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18 hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60 foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

Beautiful view

Amazing location within Kihei area, property was very clean with all what we needed for our stay, some minor improvements would be appreciated , but overall spacious enough for four people, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Right on the beach, stores and restaurants within walking distance, and bus stops very close to the property made most of the island accessible. I will absolutely stay at Maui Sunset the next time I come back to Maui!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at Maui Sunset since I was a boy as my Mom & Dad have owned various time share units there for 30+ years. I sincerely enjoy staying in MS and always feel comfortable there. However, I paid for a Superior Ocean View unit and was placed in a unit with a Standard Ocean View....which is my singular complaint.

Aloha Ryan, Great to have you with us again. Looks like you paid for a standard condo with a superior ocean view. Higher floor and closer to ocean for a 1 bedroom. Your family owns "oceanfront" which only exist in the 2 bedrooms. An upgrade from the standard interior to a premium would have been a little higher. Let me know next time if you'd like to go with a 2 bedroom or a premium condo. Steve

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was our 7th trip to Maui but first time staying in Kihei. We chose Maui Sunset because our son and his girlfriend were going to be with us and thought a condo would be better than a hotel. We enjoyed the location and the pool was nice, but the unit we stayed in was far below our expectations. The decor was very dated and things like the kitchen faucet were old and in need of repair or better yet replacement. The pullout couch mattress was extremely thin and uncomfortable. The pots and pans in the kitchen were also very old and needed to be replaced. We did see several other units that looked to have been updated and were probably much more comfortable.

We do offer a variety of price points, including the economy or basic condo you reserved to the newly renovated premium condos. We will for sure take a look at the items that did not meet expectations and swap them know you can also contact us during the stay if need assistance. Kihei is a wonderful spot that's relaxed and some of the best beaches on Maui. Unit is dated but functional. Had a few repairs needed during the week but speedy responses.

Check in and out was a breeze and the rental apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the palm trees and ocean. We didn’t use many of the available stuff in the home but it would be perfect for families to stay and have enough room to spread out, cook some meals, etc. Even had some ocean gear available so no rentals were needed elsewhere! If planning to stick around Kihei/Wailea for the beaches, food, activities there, it’s a great location and very quick drives!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We discovered the Maui Sunset about 12 years ago and this is probably our seventh time coming here. The pool area and the grounds are impeccable and the balcony is what makes this place so special. The rooms are comfortable, not huge but my wife loves the fact that there are two bathrooms, even if the one ( mine) is a bit small ( but still has it’s own shower). The higher up you go, the better the view and the closer you can get to the ocean the better. Since our son lives on the island we come often and have found that the Maui Sunset is perfect for us and this is the only place we would consider staying. Our unit A-413 was a bit dated but clean and well maintained. Have always stayed on the 4th or 5 th floors and remember, the higher the number, the closer you get to the ocean. The beach area is beautiful for watching those million dollar sunsets but remember, it is not a swimming beach, too rocky. You’ll need to go down the road to a nearby beach if you want to go in the water. The Sunset is also located in a much less crowded area of Kihei than further south and there is plenty of shopping nearby. We love it here and will continue to visit whenever we come back to Maui.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo worked well for my family of 4. It was not the newest of anything but it served it's purpose well for us. The 2 bathrooms were great and my kids slept on the couch bed. We were able to do laundry a couple of times which meant less clothes to pack. We loved the pool and the easy access to the beach. The condo grounds were beautifully maintained. We had some ants the first couple of days but they went away with a treatment from maintenance. The condo was clean but had wear and tear upon close inspection. If I wanted new and updated I would have paid more for one of those units. It was my second stay at the Maui Sunset and I would stay again.

Though the grounds are maintained extremely well Unit 413 was in BAD condition. The carpeting was stained, the appliances very old and scratched and the countertops (made of cheap Formica) were cracked. The extra supplies were old and broken. The ironing board was very old, the beach chairs were broken and the beach towels were thin, bleached out and had holes. When we asked for working beach chairs were told none were available.We discovered the beach was not suitable for swimming because it was Tiger shark infested. We should have been warned NOT to swim. The below survey asks questions about the property. I will answer about the Condo and ‘Beachfront’.

2 Wonderful Weeks

Main issue we had was our plane was late and we arrived late on a Saturday evening. The office was closed until Monday. While we had instructions to enter our unit we were not able to contact anyone to get key fobs to use the pool area until Monday. This was very disappointing. When you only have a short visit you hate to loose a day at the pool!! The unit was a expected, dated but clean and adequate. The TV had very limited channels. The shower in the master bathroom was broken, but after 4 phone calls they came and fixed it. The location in the building was very good. The balcony was sunny all day long and was too hot to enjoy in the afternoon. The unit was as described and expected. The pool and grounds were excellently maintained. The beach was nice for walking and playing in the sand (a turtle came to visit one day), but the water was very rocky and can not recommend for swimming. Groceries and restaurants nearby. We enjoyed using the BBQs. I recommend, and hope to visit again.

Felt safe, room and property were clean. The beach at the edge of the grass is not a swimming beach. You want to head down to the 10+ beaches along keihi road.

Location is very good..just a short drive to stores , restaurants and beaches. View from the lanai is gorgeous. The grounds are immaculate as is the pool area. Concierge on site at the pool will arrange any adventures etc. Condo is quiet at night after 10:00 pm. Several BBQs on site which are very helpful. The kitchen appliances need to be upgraded. The toilet in the master bedroom needs repair.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our 2 week stay here! The condo furnishings were pretty basic but functional. We had an issue with the microwave but it was acted on quickly but took a few days to fix. The health club was the biggest disappointment. The equipment is excellent but it is in what is essentially a dungeon. The grounds are beautiful and the sunsets incredible (the conch shells played each night as the sun sank into the ocean were just amazing). The pool and the hot tub are good although the hours for those and the fitness room were disappointing. They didn't open until 8 AM. Overall a great place! We are planning to go back next year.
