Perfect located: calm and idyllic above the sea - holiday house Lakonia, Pelopon

The comfortable detached house ALEXIA is surrounded by magnificent bougainvillea, banana plants, orange trees, fig and olive trees and offers a wide view across the Laconian Bay and the picturesque village Gythion. The house is set close to the idyllic Valtaki Bay in a beautiful hillside location on a terraced garden property with innumerable flower pots and various terraces that create an atmosphere of quiet peace and harmony. The comfortably and nicely furnished holiday house is built on a gentle hill covered with olive trees and is perfect for a great holiday. From the large front terrace you have a wonderful free view across the sea and the first headland of the Mani region.
The two-storey holiday house is at the end of a quiet dead-end road and can be accessed via some steps. Colourful bougainvillea plants are lining the entrance of the property. On elevated ground floor is the spacious living room with a high wood-panelled ceiling. Adjoining to the living room is the half-open kitchen and the bathroom. From the living room you have direct access to a large roofed terrace with a wonderful sea view. A wooden staircase leads from the living room to the first floor. On the open gallery above the living room there is sleeping area, another more bedroom and a toilet
There are several terraces to the side of the house with cosy seating possibilities that give you privacy and retreat. Directly behind the holiday house is a small storing and appliance house.
The fine sandy beach directly below the holiday house does not welcome you with loud music and snack bars. Here you can quietly enjoy the clear water and the sand dunes. There is a tavern above the beach, half –way to your holiday house that offers good Greek cuisine. The location of the holiday house is ideal for excursions as is the gateway towards Mani, but also towards the neighbouring eastern finger of Laconia and Monemvassia and the beautiful island Elafonissos. Don´t miss out on the byzantine Mistras that lies further towards the north.

We have returned to this house for the fourth year in a row now. I think that says enough. We can't get enough of the terrace with its beautiful view of the sea and Gythio. The many small beaches, the delicious food, and the hospitality of the people make it a top-notch holiday every year.

Nicely decorated and well kept up. In a nice, quiet area with a great view. Loved the deck and patio. The kichen was well stocked and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Would go to again.Had a little issue with the heater, but they had a backup. One minor item, the hose connecting the shower head is too short, hard to take showers for taller people.

We really enjoyed this beautiful house in a unique location. The view from the terrace (which can also be seen inside the house) is fantastic. Sometimes you can even hear the waves of the sea. The village of Gythio is close by, but the tavern at the bottom of the street also has great food. The owners of the house are very nice people and really make you feel at home. The house was very clean and fully equipped. We would like to stay there again.

Wonderful and very clean, house in a beautiful silent place with a stunning view and colourful garden. In reality it is beter than pictures Situated on the peninsula of Mani on the Pelopponesis, out of the flow of tourists (also in august), very well equipped and close to all services you could need (car needed to get to Gytheio, but restaurants and beaches can be reached walking) The owners are very welcoming and warm, with a big care for all details. Thank you!

A delightful house with an amazing view. The owners are clearly very artistic. Everywhere you look there's a little touch of personal artistry. An arranged group of stones, careful lighting, here a wall decoartion, there a different aspect of the view down onto the bay. Super. The intruder alarm gave us a little (noisy) problem for a few hours, one day, but it was finally fixed and silence was restored.... the nearest shops are in Gytheion, a few km to the west (drive, too far to walk), but there is a seasonal taverna close by (400 m). When we were there (early October in the Year of The Coronavirus), it was very quiet and the range of food was limited; but it WAS good. The beach with the shipwreck is close by, but maybe not the easiest to get into the sea, because of the nature of the shoreline. However, if you walk to the left, along the main road, on leaving the villa - there are a few narrow sandy bays off the road which are just perfect. I didn't have the enthusiasm to get up in time to walk tothe shipwreck for a sunrise photoshoot... but we're thinking of staying there again during this trip, so maybe next time I'll get up in the dark and go for that walk.

Wunderschönes Haus in toller Lage. Nette Gastgeber. Super Aussendusche. ( im Bad, nur in Badenwanne ohne Duschvorrichtung) Tolle Fliegengitter im kompletten Haus.Über eine ruhige Straße ( Neben Saison) schnell am Strand. Hier könnte etwas mehr auf Sauberkeit geachtet werden von Besuchern und Tavernen Besitzer.Leider immer wieder das gleiche Plastikproblem. Wir würden jederzeit wieder gerne hier Urlaub machen.

Wunderschönes Haus in der Umgebung von Gythio, geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Die Gastgeber sind sehr gastfreundlich, hilfsbereit, flexibel und entgegenkommend. Der terrassierte Garten ist wunderschön, die Aussicht von der Hauptterrasse ist fabelhaft. Die Betten sind komfortabel, alle notwendigen Einrichtungen sind vorhanden. Die Umgebung ist wirklich sehr ruhig. Viele sehr gute Restaurants in wenigen Autominuten erreichbar. Sehr gute Lage, um Magne, Sparta, Mystra, Monemvassia zu besuchen...

Herrlicher Blick über die Buch nach Gythio, duftende Pflanzen, Vogelgesang und ein sehr freundliches Gastgeberpaar. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt, liebevoll dekoriert und mit allem versehen, was den Aufenthalt perfekt macht, angefangen von den Moskitonetzen an jedem Fenster, einer prima ausgestatteten Küche, deutschen TV-Sendern, sehr guten Betten, absolute Sauberkeit und originellen Möbeln. Hierher kommt man immer wieder gern zurück.

Das perfekte Ferienhaus! Liebevoll eingerichtet und alles ist von hoher Qualität. Der Blick von den Terrassen ist traumhaft schön. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Betreuung ist sehr herzlich und kann man nicht besser machen. Die etwas steile Treppe ins Obergeschoss ist wahrscheinlich nicht für jedermann gut. Wir hatten aber keine Probleme.

Wir fanden ein wunderschönes Haus vor, das inmitten eines paradiesischen Gartens liegt. Herrlicher Blick über die Buch nach Gythio, duftende Pflanzen, Vogelgesang und ein sehr freundliches Gastgeberpaar. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt, liebevoll dekoriert und mit allem versehen, was den Aufenthalt perfekt macht, angefangen von den Moskitonetzen an jedem Fenster, einer prima ausgestatteten Küche, deutschen TV-Sendern, sehr guten Betten, absolute Sauberkeit und originellen Möbeln. Hierher kommt man immer wieder gern zurück.

Wir haben beim Wohlfühlfaktor nicht die Höchstbewertung abgegeben, da wir wegen unseres Alters die steile Treppe ins Obergeschoß nicht angenehm fanden. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge ist die Lage durch die jeweilige Anfahrt durch Gythio oder Skala nicht optimal. Als Strandurlauber oder für Leute, die einen Stadtbummel mit entsprechendem Angebot an Cafés und Restaurants lieben, ist die Lage natürlich hervorragend. Gleiches gilt für Besucher, die absolute Ruhe lieben.

Fußläufig eine kleine Bucht, der nächste Ort Gythio einige Kilometer mit dem Auto entfernt. Es gibt Gegenden des Peloponnes, die uns mehr ansprachen , aber das ist Geschmackssache. Das Haus selber war die schönste Unterkunft, in der wir die letzten Jahre den Urlaub verbracht haben.
