Hidden Cove Beach House also referred to as Alaska's Hidden Cove Vacation Rental is a very private and truly a one of a kind property in Ketchikan. The Hidden Cove Estate Beach House is a quality built 3 bedroom 2 bath craftsman style home and is set on 3 acres with 413 feet of beach! This creates the rare and most private ocean front setting in Ketchikan. From the house and property you can see Guard Island Lighthouse, Prince of Wales Island and the Cleveland Peninsula. All varieties of marine vessels, cruise ships and float planes pass in front of the house along with Orcas, sea lions, seals and humpback whales. The sunsets are amazing and can be enjoyed year round
Our repeat customers are a good indicator that we are providing one of the finest homes in Southeast Alaska for your Alaskan adventure. View our site. Your hosts Ray and Kathy live 5 minutes away and are readily available to assist with your needs. Hidden Cove is very close to both marinas (less than 3 miles) where you can rent 20-22 Ft covered aluminum boats powered with 90 HP up to 225HP HP Yamaha/Honda engines and outfitted for any kind of fishing. Smaller skiffs available too! Fish processing and freezers provided at the marinas at very reasonable cost. They will ship your catch for you or have your fish boxed and ready for pick up prior to your flight. Kayaks can be rented at Knudsen Cove and possibly delivered to the house (they have delivered kayaks to the property for our guests in the past).

As your hosts, we regret that this site has made changes that affect the appearance of our pricing.

The Hidden Cove beach house has three bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with a king bed that can be converted to two twin beds . Our large utility room has a bunk bed with a full size futon. The living room is furnished with a leather sofa, love seat and a large Sony wall mounted 55" LED TV with all networks and ROKU for your indoor entertainment plus a Blu-Ray DVD player with a large Blu-Ray/DVD library.
A well equipped kitchen for your cooking pleasures. A generous supply of breakfast items and staples are provided. A large Weber BBQ is located on upper Patio outside the kitchen entrance for your barbecuing pleasure! All laundry, paper products and bath supplies are provided plus much more!

To add to the comfort of our guests the house is heated with radiant in floor heat throughout. The Hidden Cove beach has an Alaskan sandy beach with lots of neat beachcombing finds! Our Hidden Cove boat house is decorated with a nautical theme. It's a great place to enjoy your morning coffee.

A rental car is recommended and frees you to all Ketchikan has to offer. Everything is just minutes away! We are on the bus route with hourly service to town with fares at just a couple bucks!. Fantastic hiking trails are just minutes away.

CHECK IN time is 4 pm and CHECK OUT is at 10:30 am.

The Best VRBO

This is by far the best VRBO we have rented. Kathy and Ray are excellent hosts, and the amenities they provide are far beyond anything else we have experienced. The view is breathtaking. Whenever we are able to travel back to Ketchikan, this is definitely the place to stay.

Solitude with an Epic View of the Ocean

Kathy and Ray were great hosts. Their picturesque Beach House is exceptionally quiet and surrounded by cedar and hemlock trees. Epic views of the ocean (with sunsets) were had from the house and around the fire pit. The hosts were exceptional communicators. And the house was absolutely, spotlessly clean. The house was also stocked with snacks, coffee, milk and cream. They thought of everything.

comfort and beauty rolled into one package

Great communication, excellent location, extra clean property with all the amenities. The property owners go out of their way to make your stay wonderfully relaxing. The beds are very comfortable, the view is stunning, and it's close enough but not too close to town which makes it quietly serene while you walk the shoreline at low-tide.

Beautiful Property

This was our second stay at Hidden Cove and we enjoyed our stay. The views are fabulous and the house is stocked with a lot of neccesities to getou started. I would add another couch or love seat to the living area so 6 adults can sit comfortably in the area.

Beautiful property stocked with all you need and more. Ray and Kathy were great and even dropped off some smoked salmon. Appreciated the dry firewood for the fire pit. Great private beach and cool boat house. Will definitely return if work brings me back.

Wonderful Vacation

This was truly an amazing trip for our family. The home was fabulous and had any amenity that a person could want. We spent time fishing with a rented boat, beachcombing and just nice family fun. The breakfast items provided were great. On vacation, we usually venture out to try the local fare for dinner, but we opted to cook most of the time and enjoy our surroundings. We couldn't have a better dining view anywhere. We will definitely be booking this house again. Thank you so much for the great time!

WOW!!!

This is the best ever VRBO rental!! The house was immaculate which is excellent since my son has allergies. It had all the bells and whistles to keep you comfy including some basic fresh grocery items to get us started- how wonderful! The beds and furniture are very comfortable, and blinds helped with sleeping during the long daylight hours. The owners thought of everything for us renters- from a fire starting kit, to rain boots, to flashlights and bug spray! Kids loved the ping pong and foose ball, and the beach was simply beautiful. The bonus for us was whale watching right from the living room! The owners are available and happy to help as well as prompt with all their communication thru the rental process. We sure enjoyed calling hidden cove home for 12 days , and we sure hope we will be lucky enough to return!

Simply Amazing!

I'm wondering if one "!" is enough. This place is gorgeous. Everything you could ask for is here: super clean, very nice, million dollar views, stocked kitchen, cozy bedding, the list goes on. When I woke up this morning, back at home, I was bummed I still wasn't there. Kathy (owner) is great, responsive, a total pleasure. This place sets the bar very high for all other VRBOs.

Paradise in Alaska

Our family vacation to Ketchikan was by far one of the best. The Hidden Cove house was immaculate and Ray and Kathy have thought of every conceivable item that you may need or want while at the house. You could literally stay at the house and have enough to do without adventuring out. We enjoyed walking on the beach looking at all the different kinds of starfish, urchins, crabs and little fish. We saw seals from the beach and there were even two eagles flying in the area. Me and my family will definitely go back again and are planning to go back again next year. Thank you Ray and Kathy for sharing your home and Ketcikan with us.

Beautiful Home

This was location was incredible! We brought my parents here for their first trip to Alaska. They said it was the trip of a lifetime. The views were amazing. We had bald eagles flying overhead and landing in the trees right next to the house. Sometimes, there were as many as four in one tree. Kathy had thoughtfully stocked the house so that we didn’t have to go shopping right when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and we loved the in floor heating that helped the house feel cozy with so the windows. There were also lots of games and dvds for rainy days. Whenever we visit Ketchikan we will always return to this location. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Highly Recommend

Our family has greatly enjoyed staying at this property. Ray and Kathy have done an incredible job in making sure that it is a welcoming and comfortable experience. It was so nice to come into town and just come to their home, not having to worry about heading to the grocery store first. Their well stocked kitchen allowed for us to get settled and start relaxing before needing anything. The property was better than described. Our family, including 13 and 10 year-old children, much appreciated the availability of Ray and Kathy to answer questions regarding this area and activities. AMAZING PROPERTY!!

From the moment we drove into the property to the time we left it was just gorgeous! I have never felt so welcomed, relaxed and at peace than I have here. Kathy and Ray are such wonderful hosts. Very special couple. They really do think of it all down to every little detail. If you stay here, go to the house first before shopping. I took full advantage of the tub every night. Beds are super comfy. The property is just beautiful! Seals morning and night came by to say Hi. Lots of starfish! Even otters peaked up couple times. Eagles flying up into the trees constantly. But what blew us away were the Whales!! They swam right along shore. Such a beautiful sight!. We cooked nightly and only ate out 2 times. Highly recommend Avala's Fish and Chowder. Wonderful Fish and Chips. AJ's Burgers were also really good. Hiked daily, the land is just gorgeous!! So many waterfalls. Do not hesitate or think twice about staying here!! Book now. You will not regret it. We cannot wait to book our return to Hidden Cove. Thank you Ray and Kathy for everything!! We had an amazing time.

Dream home in the woods and on the water - memories for a lifetime

We just returned from a 9-day stay at the Hidden Cove Beach House in Ketchikan Alaska. It was the vacation of a lifetime. Kathy and Ray supplied more than accommodations; they supplied a home - beautifully appointed, practically equipped and perfectly situated. The house is nestled privately in the woods yet sits facing the Tongass Narrows offering peaceful ocean vistas with fish jumping in the water and eagles nesting in the trees on the property. It was private yet close to conveniences. It's almost unimaginable to have all this in one location. The location is a few miles away from town shopping and dining yet minutes away from hikes in wooded solitude where rainforest waterfalls are to the right and the peaceful waters lap to shore on the left. And for the sports-minded, the fishing was extraordinary. Plus we rented 2 double kayaks for 6 of the days and between 9 of us, they were used every day. Great fun and great exercise. The house itself was wonderful. The beds were as comfortable as you would expect to find in a luxury hotel. The kitchen was made for cooking and fully equipped. The great room was, well, great, with large windows for sweeping views over the narrows and unforgettable sunsets. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer. But we'll certainly return.

Beautiful beachfront property. The pictures are not and exageration!

We have used VRBO in several locations over the past few years, and this is the property to which all others are compared by our family. This property makes you feel like your best friend moved to Alaska and left you the keys to stay at her home while she was way. Kathy has decorated and outfitted this home like it was the one she lived in on a daily basis, not the cast-off when combining households. The kitchen is fully stocked like a chef was cooking on a regular basis in the home, including a wide range of basic food staples. When Kathy says she has left supplies for breakfast, she really means it. While we truely enjoyed the sights of Ketchikan, it is the ambiance, scenic views, and quality time spent at this unique house that are our family's fondest memories. While my 5 year old thought flying with Carson Air to see the bears eat salmon feet away from the blind was neat, the memories she always talks about from this trip are sitting in the wooden swings with Grandma watching the tide come in, tide pooling with PaPa, and being the nightly smore chef while the rest of us enjoyed the setting sun on the water and the innumerable Alaskan stars. Every morning and evening you can sit in the window-filled great room and watch the cruise ships begining their sail into and out of the channel smuggly know that you have chosen the best way to visit Alaska.

We miss it already!

This property was everything we hoped for and more. The view is just spectacular with woods, ocean, and mountains all visible in one glance. This house is unbelievably clean and the best stocked of any VRBO we have stayed at. Kathy even provided several groceries to make our first morning after our evening arrival easier. Communication with Kathy and Ray was easy and immediate with responses and suggestions for our trip. We LOVE Ketchikan and really enjoyed getting to feel like locals during our 10 day visit. The house is about 15min from downtown so it is easy to get there but also secluded enough to relax in the quiet. Ketchikan is slowly getting back to normal. Even though many things are still closed, we had no trouble filling our days with shopping, a float plane through the Misty Fjords, two fishing charters and taking home 60lbs of fish plus what we ate while there, a visit to the totum museum, visiting raptors at the Raptor Rehab Sanctuary, and of course several evenings by the fire pit at the house. The fishing shack has games and poles to use with easy access to the water below. Eagles flew overhead every day and a seal comes to visit fairly frequently to check things out. This house has everything you could need while visiting Ketchikan. You do need to be able to manage a staircase because the kitchen and living area are upstairs. We loved Hidden Cove and drfinitely hope to return again. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! Angela & Arno

A Piece of Heaven

Hidden Cove was our piece of heaven! The view was breathtaking, picture perfect! The house was so well stocked with games inside and in the garage. Appliances and cookware were top of the line. We were welcomed by Kathy and she provided us with start up food that really helped. The house decorations were so neat and cute, loved their collections around the house. Such a comfortable place! Kathy and Ray were so helpful and you can tell how much love they put into this home for others to enjoy! We'll definitely go back.

The ultimate experience!

We've stayed at numerous VRBOs, with several of them excellent; however Hidden Cove surpasses them all. Meeting Kathy and Ray made it extra special as they were exceptionally delightful hosts and gave so much information about where to go, etc. They provided top of the line breakfast and snack foods and the kitchen was well stocked. It was obvious that they had spent a good deal of time creating a beautiful interior of the house and surrounding property. It felt like we were in an art gallery! With 3 acres, it is truly secluded, with trees screening the neighbors as well as a winding trail to the beach and artfully placed lighting outside. The view from their place kept us mesmerized and we found we spent a great deal of time just enjoying ourselves watching the sea from multiple vantage points. It was truly a unique experience that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Thanks so much, Kathy and Ray.

Ray and Kathy met in 1998 and both were building beachfront homes at the time. We married in 1999 and Ray's house was finished first so we decided to do a vacation rental with the Hidden Cove home. Hidden Cove is the nicest most private beachfront location on our island. We feel extremely lucky to own it and to share the beauty with so many families and groups. We hope to see you soon at Hidden Cove. Book early as we have been (the last few years) almost fully booked for the next Peak season as early as September.
