Beautiful property, the views were gorgeous in all directions. The cabin was just as pictured, plenty of room and nice and clean.We spent a wonderful week enjoying everything. You won't be disappointed this property is amazing.Hosts are very accommodating and easy to reach.Can't wait to go back.

We been going to Chalet Village since 1988 and we have found this place to be our favorite one with no expectations!

Beautiful cabin! Met with bears on the property within 2 hours of checking in, with daily visits during our 5 night stay. The hosts have taken a lot of time to ensure the best possible stay for their guests - cabin is stocked with everything imaginable - plenty of toiletries and essentials most cabins over look. Plenty of extra blankets, pillows and towels. Fantastic hosts - very quick to respond to messages and loved that they messaged before check in and right before check out to ensure a smooth experience. Highly recommend staying at A Beat Above!

A wonderful cabin close to town, but still up on the mountain with heavy bear traffic. The cabin is very spacious with a two car garage which is not a common amenity in the area.

Our 3 night mountain home getaway rental was nothing short of spectacular. Each bedroom upstairs featured its own bathroom and tv. The upstairs master bedroom has a door leading to a spacious multi-level deck. The early morning views of the Smoky Mountains from the deck were breathtaking, The downstairs game room (fully equipped with a pool table, foosball, and arcade games) provided endless evening entertainment. The location felt perfectly remote and peaceful, yet we were just a quick 15-minute drive from Downtown Gatlinburg. If you have mobility concerns or are nervous about driving switchbacks, you should look for cabins lower in the valley as this one sits at around 3000ft. 5 Stars!!

Overall this cabin was amazing! The views are incredible and we really enjoyed our stay! The host was responsive to our questions and issues plus entry was easy! Be aware that some of the roads are narrow and windy. I wouldn't recommend this house if you're a nervous or newer driver! It's worth noting that if you're looking to sit outside in the quiet, the hot tub is set to maintain temperature and can be loud at times, especially during chilly nights. It also seemed like we were the first booking in a while and the cabin could have used a bit of a more thorough cleaning as well as some maintenance but both of these were minor.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes the mountain roads can be tricky, however, we are lucky to have a two lane paved road leading up to our cabin. In all cases, it is best to respect the mountain roads and be mindful of your surroundings. Our cleaning crew / Inspectors send detailed photos after each clean and we are confidant the cabin is maintained properly. I wish you would have let us know of your findings while there. We would have been happy to help you. Thanks again!

The place was even better than the photos! It was cozy, and the kids had a great time. We had such a happy and relaxing stay. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, paying attention to every detail. Communication was great, and they really took good care of us. We would definitely love to come back again

Everything was absolutely perfect, besides the weather which obviously can’t be controlled. The host and cabin were great! I would highly recommend this cabin for a wonderful stay in the mountains. Be prepared to drive curvy, narrow roads to get to and from the cabin but once you do, you will be glad you did! We hated to leave!

We Loved the cabin! It had everything you could ever need and was so clean. Communication with host was excellent. It is way up the mountain, which we loved. The garage was tight- but we were able to get our Tundra in. The view was pretty and it was decorated for Christmas

The chalet was beautiful and the mountain views were magnificent. The hosts kept us informed on the snow alert, and even offered to let us stay for free if we were snowed in. That was impressive and demonstrated their concern for the safety of their guests.

My friends and I had a great stay at this cabin! There was ample sleeping space, and we appreciated being able to park in the 2-car garage. It was a short 10-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg, and the views from the deck were beautiful!

We had an amazing stay! The cabin was stunning and very clean. All amenities were spot on! Very close to all attractions and convenient to restaurants. The views are breathtaking! We even had bear visitors. Will definitely be returning. Communication with owners was top notch! Highly recommend.

The ‘A Bear Above’ chateau was beautiful! Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the view of Mt. Leconte from the deck and loved seeing black bears near the property. We also enjoyed the game room in the lower level. If you want to be up in the mountains that is the place to stay!

Pros: Responsive owners; old but very clean, beautifully decorated home; spacious living room with ample seating; gorgeous views; close to the center; well-equipped kitchen.Cons: Only one small roll of thin cheap paper towels was provided for a group of 7 adults plus children; the mattresses were very uncomfortable; no towels were provided for the hot tub, and we had to use bath towels to wipe up bleach-treated water; floors/beds creak through the house

In response to your remarks, the mattresses are new, the house is sturdy and the floors do not creak, more than ample fresh towels are provided throughout the cabin in each bathroom, proper bromine tabs are added to the cleaned hot tub on every turn, paper products are standard and are there to get you started on your vacation along with kitchen towels for your use. If you had contacted us we would have tried to discuss and or resolve your issues, but no contact was made on your part. We are glad you were able to enjoy the fantastic views of Mt. Leconte and the beautiful decor provided.
