Sugaree is located on a mossy creek in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just a 6 minute walk from the base of Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Golf Course and Tennis Courts. Recently updated by the new owners, this 3br/3ba house that sleeps 10 gives you easy access to any and all mountain activities regardless of the season.

The host was incredibly welcoming and so helpful. The house was beautiful and perfect for our weeklong stay at Sugar. Being right across the street from the shuttle to the lodge was incredible.

Perfect place

We had a great time and the cabin fit us perfectly. Easy to get to and not too far of a walk from the ski lifts. The owner was very helpful!! We would definitely stay here again!!!

Amazing location!

Perfect location, short walk from Sugar Mountain and a short drive to many other activities! Beautiful home with everything needed! JD was fantastic to work with, extremely helpful and responds quickly! Will definitely be back!

Comfortable house well located

Sugaree is a comfortable home within walking distance to all the amenities Sugar Mountain has to offer. It has a well outfitted kitchen and is impeccably clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Great home

The house had everything we needed. It was a perfect layout for our group. We enjoyed the large deck and the kids loved the fire pit. The house offers close access to multiple mountain adventures and we hope to stay at Sugaree again soon!

Another wonderful stay

wonderful stay

The cabin was super well equipped with all the extras. The location was perfect. We were just a short walk away to the shuttle bus stop. Beds were super comfy. Loved the decor and gas fireplace. Very comfortable furniture in the living space as well.

great place walking distance to Sugar Mountain

This was a beautiful place, it is nicer than the pictures. Only like .5 miles to slopes. Highly recommend if wanting to ski at Sugar Mountain.

Awesome Home

This is our second time staying in this beautiful house. It is in a great location & all on one floor. The new owners have done some amazing improvements although it was already such a great property! Hopefully we will be return visitors next year!!

Great stay!

My family and I had the best time! The property is exactly as beautiful as the pictures show. The house has everything you could possibly need and was spotless. The sound of the stream outside was amazing and the kids loved the ping pong table. The firepit was great for s’mores and the location is perfect. Communication was super easy and I would definitely stay here again!

Loved this house

We are already planning our return trip. The location was nice and easy to walk to the shuttle. Beautiful, spacious home. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with when we needed anything. It was so peaceful, relaxing, and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Family Snowcation!!!!!

Sugaree exceeded our expectations! It was perfect for our family Snow Vacation!!!! JD was an outstanding host. He made sure we had everything we needed and shared wonderful tips on the how to’s of what we were planning on doing. Definitely will stay again!! Location was perfect and the home was beautiful!!

Awesome & Convenient Cabin

We booked this cabin due to its proximity to the Sugar Mountain resort and it was spot on. The walk is less than 5 minutes to the resort/activities and everything else you need is less than a 5-minute drive. The cabin was spacious and easily accommodated our family of 7. It also had everything you need to make yourself feel at home. JD was very responsive and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway in the mountains!

Location, Location

My husband & l rented this house to spend Christmas week with our son & his family. There were 7 of us, we ranged in all ages and everyone had the best time. We had a variety of activities close by and there was plenty of room for all of us in this roomy house.We rent quite a lot thru VRBO and JD was THE MOST accommodating Host we have ever rented with. 10 stars all the way-!!We are already talking about when we can make it back.

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The owner is above and beyond when it comes to communication and availability to help. The house is superb in every way. Very relaxing. It’s close to everything. Food lion, the sloops, and other attractions. I can go on and on!

One of the Best

We have been doing vacation homes for over 20 years and this was one of the best. Excellent communication and customer service from the owner. House had everything we needed and then some. Perfect location to ski or head to the vineyard. Had a full kitchen where we made our thanksgiving dinner that turned out great. Wonderful deck. The oldest of our group was able to access the entire property. I would recommend this rental to anyone and everyone.

Amazing

The house is just as described and even better! The pictures do not do the house justice. Each room is larger and well equipped. Teenagers loved the bunk room! The family room was large and a great view of the back deck and mountains. Skiing at Sugar is perfect and getting to the slopes could not have been easier from the house. It is a short walk to the base of the mountain or as mentioned you can take the shuttle across the street! Food stores and restaurants are also only a few minutes away. We will be back!

Just Wow!

What a beautiful home and perfect area. I’ve been up to the area so many times over the years… my wife said why not go somewhere different, little did she know this place is special and she and the family were all blown away with happiness. You are always skeptical when setting up a trip and just hope you are not that one that was misled. Well this was a breeze from start to finish. Wonderful property, great host

We spent almost 2 weeks at this property in June and had a wonderful stay! We felt right at home - all the extra touches and amenities were appreciated and made us feel welcome. Our trip was a reprieve from the Florida heat, so we absolutely loved spending time on the large deck, enjoying the mountain view in the distance and grilling our meals. Our kids loved the bunk beds with cubbies, exploring the beautiful grounds, and of course making smores at the firepit. It's a great location - close to everything in Sugar Mountain/Banner Elk, with easy access to the surrounding communities and attractions, yet still private and tucked away. I worked remotely the entire time we were there, so I really appreciated the reliable internet and cell service at the house. JD was a great host - very responsive to all questions - and you can tell the house is well cared for. We can't wait to come back!

Wonderful getaway in the mountains!

We had the best time staying here. Pictures are great but it is so much better in person. Living area is much larger than pictured, fits 5 adults with plenty of space and clean!! And the sound of the creek running was so relaxing while sitting on the front porch. Staying closer to Sugar Mountain entrance was much easier to get around. We easily navigated down to our hiking trails in less than 30 minutes. We've stayed at Sugar Mountain top before and riding up and down the mountain to get anywhere gets tiring after two days. JD had all the amenities and more to make our stay comfortable. There is a creek in the back but not easily accessible. I think the owners are still working on beautifying the property. But what they have done so far is so cool! We would love to make another trip and stay again. JD, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with visitors!

Our recent stay here was amazing. Everything about the house is as described. It was a quick easy walk to the shuttle from the house and we also walked to tubing/ice skating. We had a 7, 5 and 3 year old with us and it was very easy for them to walk as well. The house was awesome. Very well maintained, and the gas fireplace was perfect so we did not have to go out in 8 degree weather to get firewood. The host, JD was extremely helpful and communicated with us during the duration of our stay. He checked in on us during our stay (I’ve never had a host do that before so I thought that was awesome)! He also helped us when we were worried about leaving the driveway with all the snow that fell during our stay (very easy to get out even with lots of snow).The location was perfect. It’s at the base of the mountain which helps if you are traveling without an 4WD car and no snow chains. It snowed a good bit while we were there and the resort did a great job clearing the road the house is on and the main roads so we had 0 issues driving our car around in the snow/ getting home. 10/10 would recommend this house and we will be staying here again!!!

Best for 2 families of 4.

#1 The host was amazing. Very attentive, and fast with responses. We had an issue with the fireplace. He did everything he reasonably could to try and get it working for us. We could not get it to work but the consistent follow up and communication was greatly appreciated. #2 Location!! Could not ask for anything better. When looking out the window is the parking lot, where the shuttle stops is. All you need to do is walk behind the house, through a small trail, and you're there. Best part, the shuttle drops you off on the other side of the road! #3 The cabin is as advertise, the pictures are true. What they don't show is how spacious it feels. 4 adults, 4 toddlers (ages 5-8) plenty of room for everyone to spread out! I was told multiple times to book this cabin again when we come back!

Great location!!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at this property. It was the perfect open floor plan layout. My kids loved the bunk beds and had to sleep in a different one each night (sorry, cleaning crew!!). The home was very clean and in a great location. JD was very responsive to any questions I had. Since we have family in the area, we visit the area often so we definitely will try to rent again.

Walking to the ski lift and Sugar Resort amenities is a huge benefit to this property, especially on busy / holiday or fresh-powder weekends. You can be first in line to make fresh tracks or just enjoy your breakfast and a relaxing morning while you let the crowds spread around the mountain - then just walk the trail below the back deck and you're at the lodge in 5 minutes. Or - If you're hauling gear or kids (and their gear), you can jump on the Sugar Shuttle bus that stops right across the street. Options are a good thing. In the spring, summer and fall you can't beat the proximity to numerous waterfall hikes, big mountain views, the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. If Golf is your bag, you're just steps away from one of the top 3 short courses in the US, complete with views of Sugar and Beech Mountains all day long. How about mountain biking? You can rent a downhill bike from Headquarters Bike & brew shop (or from the ski-hill gear shop). grab a lift ticket from Sugar or Beech Mtn and take in the views from over 5,200 feet - then ride down. Tennis? just a few minutes walk. Ice Skating? Right next to the tubing hill (again, a few minutes walk). Alpine Coaster? Ropes Course? They are both 1.5miles from the house. Great food? it's all around. Are you a history buff that pines for the olden-days (or want to show the kids/grandkids what a real array of hard-candy is, and what post office boxes used to look like?) Check out the original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis and enjoy some time at the Valle Crucis community park along the Watauga River (and cast a fly-line if fishing is in your wish list).
