*MUST SEE* Cobb Creek Cabins at the Historic Cobb Family Estate
Cobb Creek Cabins is located on the Historic Cobb Family Estate circa 1861. Situated on 21 acres of the original homestead of John Franklin Cobb grandfather of Baseball Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. This amazing property is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and an experience you will never forget.
Built in 1861 the main Cobb house still remains today and is the current home of your hosts. Next to the Cobb house you will find the original 1861 Smokehouse. Once the place where the Cobb family smoked the meat they harvested from the farm, the Smokehouse is now a one room cabin overlooking our farm.
Behind our smokehouse you will find the original artesian well where throughout the years members of the Cobb family placed plaques in memory of family past.
You will find every inch of our farm to be perfectly manicured upon your arrival. If you come in the spring and early summer expect to have your pick off the many fruit trees throughout the property including apple, pear, cherry, etc. Pick blueberries for breakfast of help yourself to some fresh eggs courtesy of the Cobb Creek Cluckers.
Cobb Creek Cabins consists of 6 authentic log cabins 4 of which sit directly on Cobb Creek.
The Smokehouse cabin sits on the hill next to the Cobb house. The authentic 1861 structure is now our most quant and adorable single room cabin. Complete with everything you could ever need for your stay, the Smokehouse is a favorite amongst our guests. Known for it's charm and privacy, this cabin is filled with history and character and provides the perfect private hideaway for two. The deck overlooks the property and pond and is protected from view by pines allowed to grow, encompassing the deck. The Smokehouse has it's own private driveway.
The Moose Lodge is our largest one bedroom cabin. It is one story, sits near the Smokehouse. Overlooking the farm you can also view Cobb Creek from your covered back deck. Our most secluded cabin, the Moose Lodge is a true log home inside and out with wood floors, walls, and ceilings. It has custom built cabinets, in the spacious kitchen, bath/laundry room and front entry/workspace area. The bedroom has a queen bed. The living room has a recliner, a rocker, and two sofas. One lays down to a double bed and the other has two more recliners built in. It is heated with a large gas log fireplace and cooled with an AC wall unit.
The Duck is a one bedroom, two story, traditional dovetail constructed cabin built in 1997. The Duck sits 20 feet from Cobb Creek. It is heated with a romantic gas log fireplace in the living room. It has a pine log futon sofa and recliner. It has a spacious loft which has a queen sized bed. Step out your back door "creek side" and relax on your covered private back deck or enjoy your covered front porch which has a swing and 2 rockers and great views of our farm.

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Collin Cordell
My name is Collin Cordell. My wife Jennifer and I are lucky enough to have been able to realize our dream of owning this amazing piece of history. We are both from Jacksonville Fl. and fell in love with Murphy a few years ago when we purchased a small cabin in the mountains. Since that time we have sold everything that we own and moved to Murphy full time in order to not only be a part of this most amazing community but to continue on the tradition of the most amazing Cobb Creek Farm. From the moment we first stepped foot on this property we knew it would be ours. The property is said to have healing powers and once here we can truly say that we never want to leave. We love meeting new people and hope to get to know you. We are always here to answer any questions you have on the history of our place or anything you need. We love boating, motorcycles, and our two cats Tuna and Sticks.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
We fell in love with this amazing piece of history from the moment we first set foot on it. We bought the Historic Cobb Family Estate which was build in 1861 from the most amazing couple Veronica and Jimmy T. They put their lives into this this place for 20yrs and we just immediately bonded and all knew that we were the right couple to continue to make this amazing place even better. The rich history of this property, the quiet, peaceful, and tranquil setting, coupled with our love of not only people but projects ensure that we will have decades of to do lists and fun.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
Cobb Creek Farms consists of 21 acres of the original Cobb Family Estate from 1861. It was the childhood summer home of the baseball legend Ty Cobb and stayed in the Cobb family for more than 100yrs. Our property consists of 6 authentic log cabins, 4 of which sit directly on Cobb Creek. We have an amazing property with deep rich history. Come in the spring and pick cherries, apples, pears, blueberries. Enjoy fresh eggs from our chickens, and by all means enjoy exploring our place.
