This apartment is ideally located in the heart of magnificent colonial Cartagena, which is a very safe area. It's a stone-throw from the 16th century cathedral and also where Sir Francis Drake lived when he captured the city.

Within walking distance: fine restaurants, museums, churches, the beautiful streets of Cartagena, and its fortifications. A bit further out, requiring a taxi ride, the spectacular San Felipe fort and La Popa mountain-top monastery.

The apartment itself is well appointed and decorated, ideal for two couples. The building has a lap pool at street level as well as a roof-top sunning and lounging area. It has a doorman at all times.

The cleaning lady can be hired to cook lunch and clean the apartment, make beds, etc.

If you are looking for a day at the beach in the islands, we can help arrange private boat rentals to take you to Tierra Bomba or Rosario Islands. This is a good way to visit different beaches and spend the day or the afternoon in a Beach Club.

If you need additional information or assistance with other services such as massages or professional chef at home do not hesitate to contact me. I am always happy to help so you can have an incredible experience in the city.

Great location. Wonderful communication. Everything you need for a few days in the city. We really enjoyed the balcony and watching the parrots - very relaxing spot to see after a day of sightseeing.

Perfect location, spacious, comfortable, safe, & beautiful!

We loved our week stay here! Marta is an incredible help and perhaps the nicest host we have ever had, and we have had exceptional experiences with VRBO. The apartment has everything one could need to be at home while on vacation, and there is nowhere else in the city I would have preferred to stay. Thank you for allowing us to stay, and we hope to return soon!

Wonderful location!

We loved our stay here. The pool was lovely, beds comfortable and it was centrally located. We felt very safe here. The apartment was basic but suited our needs perfectly. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was welcomed after a long day.

Killer Location!

Fabulous property in killer location. Inconsistent hot water and power were only challenge, but maintenance team was very responsive.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Regarding the issue with the electricity, as you knew it was an external matter unrelated to the apartment or the building itself. It was caused by a problem in the old city wiring system in the square in front of the apartment. Thankfully, the electricity company resolved it the same day, and everything has been working regularly since then. We were fully attentive throughout the process, doing everything within our power to help. We truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you again, and best regards!

Wonderful stay

We loved the apartment! Marta was to quick to respond and any issue was quickly resolved. Location was great and apartment was so comfortable. We loved the balcony and the pool was so nice to cool off in the afternoon.I would not hesitate to recommend this rental

Cartagena Ironman week

We stayed at the property for a full week. What a great place. Marta was very responsive if we had questions. Very easy to get around in the walled city and the apartment has a doorman and we felt very safe. The race festivities were just blocks away along with wonderful cafes and restaurants.

This apartment was perfect! The location was close to everything in the middle of the walled city. The apartment had everything we needed. The pool was great after a day of exploring. The views were incredible! Couldn’t possibly have been happier! Highly recommend

Location and View

The location of this beautiful apartment is perfect for exploring Cartagena. We walked all over the city and never had a problem. The balcony has a beautiful view of flowers and an old church. We never got tired of looking out as we sat there every evening. The apartment was perfect for two couples. The owner was easy to communicate throughout. There is a lady that can come everyday to clean up and do laundry except for Sunday and holidays.

Great Rental, Better than the photos!

Great rental, with a great view, you will find yourself staying out on the lanai most of the time. We truly enjoyed our time staying at the apartment. Everything worked properly, its very clean, comfortable, has everything you need, the staff down stairs is always pleasant, the building is very secure. Make sure you make it up to the roof deck, there is a perfect 360 view of the old city, the location is great. I highly recommend the restaurants at the Santa Clara Hotel, have breakfast at the main restaurant, there is a pair of wonderful Tucans, that come to your table, besides the food is incredible, the breads are amazing. There are many wonderful boutique hotels around, you can go in for cocktails or a bite to eat. I would always stay in this apartment in Cartagena, the place and owner are great! Our small family (couple and young child) really enjoyed our stay here. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location across from Plaza Simon Bolivar is, in our opinion, one of the best in the old city, for several reasons: there is abundant tree shade, there are daily music and dance performances, and it feels slightly less touristy than many other plazas. We always knew we were getting close to home when we saw the trees.Marta was a friendly and helpful host. I asked her for tips on finding a local babysitter, and she connected me with her trusted maintenance guy, who set us up with an evening of babysitting with his young adult daughter. It was perfect! Our little one (3 yrs) loved the balcony space. We slept well with the room ACs. If you are especially wary of mosquitos, you should know that there are no window screens in the apartment. We did see (and squish) a couple of mosquitos. However, with the side windows open, there is usually a wonderful strong breeze.Despite the rest of the living space being exposed to humidity 24/7, it was, I think, as clean as could possibly be, based on my experience of living in a similar climate as a child. That said, the floors always left our bare feet a little dirty; but maybe that's to be expected with city air coming in the windows.The pool downstairs is quite the shady oasis. We found the water to be rather chilly. But, hard to complain about cold water in Cartagena!

Exceeded Every Expectation

We could not have been more pleased with this charming apartment in Cartagena from the original art to the stunning view from the balcony, comfortable beds, air conditioned bedrooms and the ground floor pool. It was delightful. We stayed mid-January to mid-March with temps between 85 and 90 degrees and high humidity. Multiple ceiling fans and and open layout with balmy breezes was a daily plus. Our host Marta could not have been more welcoming, responsive and accommodating. She is a delightful person. Aydee and Victor our two on-site support staff were there when we needed them and very accepting of our minimal Spanish. We stayed for two months and were sad to leave. Thank you for our outstanding Cartagena experience. Jill & Dana

Perfect downtown location in classic colonial setting.

Location is excellent. Ideal for exploring city center on foot. Apartment in rear of building with view was quieter than street side. Main building provided 24 hour security with courteous doorman. However, some doors and windows in apartment could not be properly secured. Some amenities not working or not usable as advertised in listing. Property manager very responsive to problems that maintenance man could repair. Maintenance man provided excellent service when he could. Overall, apartment while old, has colonial city charm. While clean, food and some out of date items from previous tenants should have been removed.

A charming apartment in the heart of the walled city, perfect for exploring the magic of Cartagena

I have visited Cartagena many times, always wanting to come back to enjoy the magic of this special city. This visit is one of my favorite thanks to our stay at this charming apartment, located right in the middle of the walled city. The place is very nicely appointed with interesting art and everything you need for a lovely stay. Both rooms are comfortable with air conditioning and en suite bathrooms. You will find lots of reference books on the history and architecture of this amazing city. Aydé, the housekeeper, is very, very kind; it is a real treat to find everything clean and organized when you come back from exploring the city. There is a small pool in the ground floor, perfect for relaxing after a warm day. But my favorite place must have been the lanai with its hammock and lovely view of the San Pedro Claver Church (do not miss visiting this church's courtyard, pure magic). The apartment is also located near the small but beautiful Museo del Oro, the Palacio de la Inquisición and plenty of delicious restaurants, cafés and bars. The owners have put together a very useful list of recommendations. I would love to come back to this charming place! TW

Love in the Time of Cartagena

Staying at Jaime's apartment was magical--you are living outdoors, with the beautiful balcony and all the windows. Though it was hot and humid in Cartagena, we never used the air conditioning. The temperatures cooled at night and there was always a breeze. The apartment has tile floors throughout and ceiling fans in every room to move the air. The apartment is located on Plaza Bolivar, the prettiest plaza in the city. Each morning, I got a cup of coffee and sat in the plaza and watched the city come to life. At night, the plaza bursts into activity with music and dancing. The apartment itself is a perfect location in the building, with the balcony facing the side of the building away from the noise of the plaza. Both bedrooms were very pretty and each had its own full bath with a large shower. The building has a doorperson 24 hours a day and is totally safe. Don't miss watching the sunset from the rooftop of the building. In one direction you see the steeple of the cathedral. In the other direction, you see the surreal spectacle of the high rises of Bocagrande. The sun sets over the Caribbean and the skies turn dusty pink as the lights of the city come up. You may feel you're living in a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel.

Pleasant apartment, fantastic location, but management horrible

This is a pleasant apartment, and the location couldn’t be better, but the management was really unresponsive and bad. Unfortunately, I was not communicating with the owner, who is apparently unwell, but with someone else. Problems started when I tried to book. I got an automated message authorizing it right away, but I had some questions. These took days to answer. Then I tried to book using the email I was sent, but maybe because so much time had passed, it double booked me and locked me out. I sent repeated messages to the owner to fix it, and called vrbo, who called them with no response. This took at least another day to resolve. We were sent an address, but no instructions as to where it is located. Apparently there are names as well as numbers for streets, and things are generally identified by landmarks. We arrived around 1 a.m. and the taxi driver couldn’t find the place. We drove around and around for more than half an hour looking and trying to call the owner. The manager finally answered and said it was on the Plaza Bolivar, a main plaza. We had to pay the taxi extra because of failure to send any kind of directions,

Best apt in Cartagena

Great location, incredible views, friendly and helpful doorpeople and housekeeper. Airy rooms with interesting art and a/c in bedrooms. Lap pool. Kitchen could be updated, but was totally functional. All in all, a great place to stay!

Cosy apartment in the heart of the historic district

Very nice apartment centrally located in the heart of the old city. Just step out the front door and it’s all there. Nicely decorated, and fully equipped. Safe and secure. Carlos, one of the doormen was very helpful throughout our stay. First time in Cartagena and Colombia and we will definitely be back again.

The lanai of the apartment faces the beautiful dome and spires of San Pedro Claver Church. The building is on the central Plaza de Bolivar or Inquisition Square, although the apartment is on the quiet side of the building, not facing the sometimes noisy square.
