DEER RIDGE CABIN is a New 1100 square foot Old Virginia Hand Hewn Log Cabin Nestled on 66 Private and Secluded Wooded Acres in the Piedmonts of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Here you will be able to Relax and Forget the World, yet be Close to all the local Amenities-.

Our Cabin is only 15 minutes from Charlottesville, where you can enjoy some of the TUCKEDarea's finest in Dining and Entertainment. Along your way to Deer Ridge you will go past such sites as Carter Mountain Orchard, The Michie General Store, The Michie Tavern, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, James Monroe's Ashlawn/Highland and of course, some of the area's finest wineries; Trump, Blenheim, Mount Ida and Jefferson.

Located only 15 Minutes from UVA, 30 Minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains for Hiking, Skyline Drive for Breath-taking Views, 10 Minutes to the center of Scottsville for Water Rafting/Tubing or Fishing on the James River and 40 Minutes to Wintergreen for Skiing. Great Country Roads For Biking.

Deer Ridge is fully furnished, sleeps 2-4 persons very comfortably (1 full size bed and 2 twin beds).

With 2 Porches to enjoy, wake up on the back one for with your morning coffee as the day begins and the front one for unwinding and watching as the deer and other wildlife cross through the woods before turning in for the night.


Relax on our 4 Person covered Glider House or enjoy a Family Picnic in the Pine Grove.
During your stay, please feel free to Walk, Hike, Jog or Ride your Bike on our Maintained Old Logging Road.
Bird Watchers will be able to observe a vast variety of birds, along with other wildlife that are able to co-exist in our 'Sanctuary' we've kept for them.

***Our Mission at Deer Ridge to Ensure that You and Your guest(s) have a Peaceful and Enjoyable Stay. It is also a true getaway from the stress and demands of our daily lives....there is no Internet/WiFi at Deer Ridge for this reason and also, from a lot of our guests.

Since we reside on the adjoining 33 acres, You Can Be Assured that We are Totally Hands On Hosts--only a Phone Call or Short Walk To.

Please do not open the windows. We do get bear passing through. All food and their containers should be removed from your car to prevent any damage.
For the safety of children under 4 yrs are a safety issue because of the open loft area with it's picket rail.
My cabin is to be neat and tidy when I come up for check out. I take care of the bed linens, vacuuming and towels.

Hostess was extremely welcoming and pleasant to speak to. Her place is impeccably decorated and one feels a great appreciation of Americana. Highly recommend especially in light of the extremely overpriced option in Charlottesville itself. Was our opportunity to see and spend time with our recently born first grandchild. We will definitely return on our next visit !!

Fantastic getaway spot tucked away in the woods of Scottsville. Our host, Bea, was absolutely lovely and made sure we had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, there were plenty of pillows and blankets provided as well as towels and wash cloths. It couldn’t have been a more perfect stay and we look forward to coming back soon!

Perfect for 2

We were in the area for a wedding at James Monroe Highlands. It was a perfect driving distance from there. The house provided everything you needed to get ready, and to have a nice weekend getaway. It’s truly a country charm and the hosts are very accommodating and communicative.

Listing needs better labeling.

We had to meet our host in person at the property to both check in and check out. Check in took about forty-five minutes for no reason. The listing of the property's amenities was incorrect. There is no wifi and renters have to go outside to find any slight crumb of cell service. Which may or may not happen depending on how the wind blows the trees. There was also, strangely, an amenity listed that guaranteed access to an unnamed water park. This last bit didn't interest us, but it shouldn't have been offered. The master bed on the first floor was advertised as a queen when in reality it's a full. This place would be IDEAL for so many people if it was listed properly and honestly. And please consider a coded drop box for the key.

This place is magical

The cabin is incredibly clean and kept in immaculate condition. We couldn't stop admiring all the work they've put into it and little touches they added. Even the driveway drainage was well thought out.The owner was lovely and greeted us with brownies. It was nice to know they were a text away yet we felt very secluded and private in the cabin. They were very welcoming and we even got to meet their sweet puppies. We were treated like family.They had a trail around the property which we loved. We walked it 3x in two days. There's a creek on the property and your immersed in nature. The trail is lined with gorgeous plants and wild blueberries.My only caution with renting here is that you won't want to leave! I could have sat our whole trip on the porch and been so content. It was a perfect trip.

Amazing Girlfriends Getaway

This place is just beautiful. So relaxing but close to everything you want to do at the same time. Myself & 2 best friends for life went for a few days to catch up, relax, visit wineries, nature hike, we visited Monticello & Carter Mountain Orchard, all within a few short miles. It has beautiful views & so quiet & peaceful. The cabin is cozy, fireplace was perfect. Bea & Rick are so nice & accommodating. We had everything we needed. We will def be back! And the brownies Bea made us were delicious. Thanks again for everything.

Wonderful host! Wonderful location! Perfect for checking out wineries and Charlottesville! Beautiful view of Carters Mountain! Nice 1 mile walking loop. Very comfortable beds. Super clean! The perfect stay

I couldn’t begin to explain how amazing our stay was! We are so glad that we stayed at Bea’s place. The pictures don’t do this absolutely STUNNING place justice. It has such a private feel and cozy vibe. Close to wineries, Monticello, and more! We will definitely be back to Bea’s place! She was an amazing host.

Great getaway

The cabin was great! the cabin is tucked in the woods and very clean. the host was excellent and greeted us when we arrived with homemade fresh bread. We loved the getaway and have already started planning to return for my birthday in January.

Cozy Getaway

Awesand relaxing, clean and refreshing

The cabin was well maintained both structure and grounds. Very clean and neat. The full size bed was very comfortable. Bea is a very charming and respectful host. The property had a 1 mile loop trail, which my partner and I enjoyed running on. A must stay and we will return.

Having a total of 66 acres of woods and privacy is what inspired us to build Deer Ridge.

Besides being totally secluded, it is only minutes to Monticello, Ashlawn/Highland, Jefferson, Blenheim and Trump Wineries and 15 minutes to Charlottesville.


O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Careful planning has gone into every aspect of it's construction, from the actual setting of the cabin for the sunny kitchen/back porch mornings to the viewing of the setting sun from the front porch. Each stone in the chimney and fireplace have been handpicked, along with the sawmill cut boards on the walls to the individually wooden hand-pegged red oak floors. Rick and I have worked for the past to 2 years in order to bring Deer Ridge to life and are currently offering it for others to enjoy.

Located only minutes from local major Historic Sites, 3 Wineries and only 15 minutes to Charlottesville.

Perfect for a quick getaway, lodging for members of a wedding party for those celebrating at nearby Ash Lawn/Highland, a honeymoon/marriage retreat or just for a quiet family vacation.
