Fully Renovated River House
Welcome to Sunrise View, a truly amazing place to relax and enjoy the River! Unwind and put your feet in the sand while you feel the coastal breeze in your hair. You could not be any closer to the water at this house! We sit on a peninsula where the house was built on pillars just feet from the water. You would swear you were on the beach relaxing in the sand that extends out into the river!

The House:

1600 square foot house. It is built on piers that sit 15 feet in the air. We have a massive screened-in wrap around porch with tons of seating. The kitchen is completely stocked with all cookware you need to prepare any meal.

The master opens to the deck, making it convenient to step outside with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise over the river.

Outside:

Enjoy a private 175 foot pier for fishing or relaxing. Bring your boat or jet ski, because we have a private boat ramp for smaller boats ( check dimensions to make sure it fits under the house). There is also a marina that is 10 minutes away if you have a larger boat to launch and tie off to our 150 foot dock.

We have a gas grill and two tables to enjoy a riverfront dinner. Because the house it built on pillars, you have 1000 square feet of covered space underneath to relax. This makes it easy to beat the heat while outside having fun. Once you are done playing in the water, wash off in our outdoor shower that has hot and cold water.

Games, Toys, & Other Amenities:

Provided for your enjoyment are 2 stand up paddle boards, fishing rods, crabbing equipment, 2 kayaks (with kid and adult fitting life vests), small kid sized boogey boards and lots of kidā€™s beach toys. In addition, we provide a corn hole set and jumbo sized Jenga.

Our Town:

Tappahannock is one of the hidden jewels of Virginia. Come find out why retirees and sport enthusiasts flock to our area! Enjoy shopping or dinner out at several award-winning restaurants.

You have not lived until you have had a burger and shake from award winning NN Burger! If restaurants are not your thing then try your hand and catching your dinner from our dock or pick something up from Food Lion or Walmart, both are 5 minutes from our house.

For those that enjoy a game of golf, bring your clubs and book a tee time at the #6 best golf course in Virginia, Hobbā€™s Hole is just 8 minutes away.

You can also experience 10 award winning wineries on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail (by charter boat or a short drive), just minutes from our home, or find out how fresh seafood really taste on the Virginia Oyster Trail. Plan an excursion to the birthplace of Robert E. Lee or George Washington, both a short drive away on the opposite side of the river.

Security Cameras:

We have Ring cameras only on the front and back of the house for your protection and ours. There are no cameras inside the house, under the raised house or on the covered porch.

Another wonderful and relaxing family getaway! We love this property, the views are incredible! Short trip from DC yet once you arrive, you feel like you're a million miles away from the city. Barbara is the best host I've ever encountered, always very responsive and provides timely updates and reminders. This is our 3rd year in a row and we'll certainly be back again next year!

Quiet Bliss on the River

The property was perfect for a long weekend getaway of relaxing for a birthday weekend. The dock and beach were a plus and the house was well appointed and comfortable. Being close to the town of Tappahannock was super convenient. We will definitely be back!!

We enjoyed our second stay in this house. The owners are very responsive. The house is clean, quiet and comfortable plus it has a beautiful view. The kids loved splashing in the water and kayaking/paddle boarding. We hope to return soon!

We booked this place because it was on the water, near to Richmond and accessible for my 84 year old parents. This place was perfect. Beautiful house, beautiful views. They have everything at the house you could possibly need. Just bring your clothes and you are set. We can't wait to come again!

Beautiful property right on the water! Very clean property. Beautiful views and a sandy beach with a pier. Too cold in April to go i. The water, but they have beach toys and kayaks. Very good communication with the property owner.

An excellent place to stay at a beach with the family. The house is clean, up to date, well maintained, and very well furnished. The kitchen has everything you'd need, and the outdoor area is exceptionally furnished with chairs, tables, hammocks, kayaks, a paddle board, crab net, child toys, and even corn hole! And what's the best part is the convenience of the beach and outdoor area - right underneath and next to the house! I especially appreciate having a covered area to stay in to keep out of the sun when it's too much for me. It's an ideal place for all ages - from little ones to grandparents. There's a lot of privacy as well, but a town is a short drive away (5-7 minutes) that has a Wal Mart, a good grocery store, some good restaurants, and a wonderful produce shop. We've stayed two years in a row now and hope to continue going back in the future.

Beautiful property and location!

We stayed for a week for a family reunion. Great place for young kids and adults alike. Lots of great amenities like the kayaks and paddle boards. The sandy beach was a hit with kids and the water was calm enough for them to enjoy as well. Dock was great for the fishermen for the family. Great place for relaxing.

Everything you could ask for

They literally have everything you need, just pack your clothes and enjoy! The location was very quiet the week we were there so we basically had the beach and river to ourselves. The fishing and crabbing were also great. We canā€™t wait to come back next year!
